Re: PP weight loss thread

  • RCS Monday- I gained 29 total. But when I got preg I was up from normal so I'd like to lose 40 altogether

  • VBAC 4 days ago. I'm down 13 lbs. started with BMI 24, but gained 40 lbs. I'm also breastfeeding, so I'm trying to eat healthy but definitely no dieting for at least a month! And no exercise other than kegels for 1-2 weeks, then will start light walking
  • I am 4 days pp and down 20lb. I lost weight in the first tri, and only gained around 10lb by the time he was born.
  • I gained about 25lbs this pregnancy. I've lost 20lbs without doing anything special (although I took a half hour walk by myself this afternoon which was amazingly refreshing). It feels nice to hug my husband tightly again without a belly between us! Still don't fit comfortably into my pre-pregnancy jeans, which has me feeling a little down... Hoping maybe this will happen by the end of the month.
  • 9 days PP and I've lost 22 lbs. I gained 35, but started out a bit overweight. Hoping to lose another 20 or so. Totally doable!! Very happy with my progress so far.

  • I gained 18lbs this pregnancy, I'm 4-5 days PP and I put my pre pregnancy jeans on today!! Still need to lose a few but it felt great putting them on.

I gained 30lbs and I don't own a scale. Baby just turned 4 weeks yesterday. All I know is that I fit into all my zip and button pants again. Real pants, not leggings. Lol. My guess is that I am 5lbs away from my pre baby weight. Haven't done anything other than breastfeed. Kind of amazed at how much that helped.

  • I gained 30 and I'm down 22lbs 10 days out. I've been medium paced walking around my neighborhood daily with my LO. I think breastfeeding has really helped me drop pounds.
  • I'm 14 days PP. I gained 40 during my pregnancy and have lost 22 so far. I did have a cesarean though and for the first week I had zero appetite. Since I've gotten my appetite back my weight loss has slowed down.
  • When did you guys first weigh yourself after giving birth? I have quite a bit of swelling from c section and don't want to disappoint myself when I get on the scale. My hormones are crazy as it is, I don't need another thing to cry about! I am thinking I will do it at 2 weeks PP.

I waited until my first doctors appointment last time.
  • I am 8 days PP. I gained 34lbs while pregnant and have lost almost 23lbs so far. Just weighed myself this morning to see where I stood! I haven't done anything different but I am Breastfeeding and I seem to be hungry all of the time. Hoping to lose another 10 on top of the 11 I have left to go. Can't wait to go for a run!
  • I gained 28 lbs with twins and delivered at 37 weeks 3 days. They are now 12 days old and I'm down 31 lbs! I think most of the gain was babies/fluid!
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I'm now 3 weeks pp and haven't stepped on the scale for over a week but I just tried on my regular pre pregnancy jeans and I could do them up. Had a really nice muffin to going on and they are tighter in the hip/bum area but I can wear them.

No more maternity clothes for me!
  • Im pleasantly surprised at how fast the weight has been coming off! 6 days pp and Ive lost 13lbs. About half the total gained and probably from zombie feeding my boy all night. I have a future fatty in my house! Everyone is different though so don't beat yourself up if it goes by slower for you.
  • Decided to step on the scale, down about 20, but I know once things settle I will probably gain a bit back before I start working out. I tend to gain while nursing anyway. I have to really pay attention to calorie intake and calorie burn when it comes to my Breast milk, with my second I noticed a big decline when I started hitting the gym regularly.
  • The watch battery in our scale needs to be replaced but I think that's a good thing because I'm afraid if I weigh myself now I'll hurt my own feelings.
I was 178 pounds the night of induction. At my first prenatal appointment I was 138 pounds but I was in the process of losing weight. I was trying to get to 130.
I think I'm just going to wait until my 3 week OB appointment on December 1st. I know for sure I've lost 8 pounds, cuz that's how much little man weighs haha.
  • I've yet to deliver! But I am curious, do you actually truly *feel* less heavy afterwards?...Lately I've been feeling like I have weights tied to me, I can't wait to not feel like that! There have been times in my life where I have gained or lost some weight and not actually felt different...So curious to see what this feels like pp!

I do think my own body feels less bulky, but in terms of feeling like you have a weight tied to you, you'll likely find caring for and feeding a newborn can produce a similar feeling. :)

    lol. That's probably true, huh.
Well, at least it'll be something cuter to look at other than my swollen feet ;)
  • I am a week out from my c-section and made the mistake of weighing myself. I am down 11 of the 28 lbs I gained. Guess I though it would be more! I will be weighing in once a week and reporting here for accountability.

    Pre-preg weight- 186
    "Birthday" weight- 214
Current weight (7 days PP)- 203
    Goal weight- 170

  • PP 16 days and down 30 lbs. I gained 41 so I'd love to get down to 135 again!
  • I started walking for 30 min every day but I didn't stop bleeding so now o have to stop walking to give my body the time it needs, so I'd recommend just talking to your doc and telling them what you want and asking what they recommend
  • Only 4 days PP and I haven't stepped on the scale yet. I'm honestly a little nervous to because I don't want to be disappointed with the results. Looking at my body I can see a huge difference (probably only looked 4 months pregnant instead of 6 when I left the hospital), but I can see that I'm looking quite flabby and loose in the tummy still (which will probably be the case for the foreseeable future). I'm thinking I'm going to wait until I can get my wedding ring back on comfortably before I weigh myself because that should mean my swelling is totally gone.

    Pre pregnancy weight: 205
    Birth day weight: 243
Goal weight: 175 (but taking it real slow - I imagine it'll be close to a year before I even see the other side of 200 since I'd been trying to lose weight before getting pregnant and hadn't been overly successful)
  • Got weighed today when applying for WIC. Down to 227 according to their scales. That's 16 lbs down in 5 days. I'm good with that lol
  • I gained 45 with my first and delivered at 34w. 25lbs were gone within the first week and the rest within a few months, well except for those last darn 10lbs. I'm 38w4d with LO and have gained 48 so far. Hope to go back down below my pre-preggo weight so I think I'll have nearly 60 to lose. Wow! Now that I said it, that's a lot!

Can't wait to start running again and use the new jogger stroller!

Great thread! Looking forward to everyone's progress updates!
  • I gained 35lbs. 8d PP and lost 22lbs already. I just want to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Looks like I'm well on my way!!

Yes you definitely are! Way to go!!
  • I gained a total of 12 pounds, 14d PP and 26 pounds down! I'm hoping to get down to the pre-pregnancy weight I was before DD.
  • Time for my weekly weigh in

    Prepreg weight 186
    Birthday weight 214
    Current weight 197.6
    Goal weight 170

I definitely need to improve on my eating habits. I am 2 weeks Post c section today.

  • So should we turn this into a weekly thread? Like a weigh in Wednesday kind of deal? I'm waiting for my first appointment to weigh in and a bit more of a recovery from my c-section to start going for long walks but I'm excited to be able to start joining in.

I won't touch my pre-preg jeans until my incision heals a bit more. They used glue on me so I'm (irrationally) terrified of opening it back up.

I like it! We can turn HDBD into Weigh in Wednesday. Watch the bumps go in reverse

Edit because it cut off the second half of my post about how I've not weighed myself since last week partially because I can't find a good time to weigh myself where my system is "empty" since I'm up all night and drink water constantly
  • Gained 24lbs.
    2 weeks pp lost 30lbs.

    Weekly weigh in

    Pre pregnancy: 162
    Bday weight: 195
    Today: 169

    ETA: 11 days PP

    ETA 2: goal is 135

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Down 27lbs after two weeks, 3 more 'till pre pregnancy weight. I'm impressed. I wonder if it really is the breastfeeding doing the work? Want to lose another 10
  • Down 25lbs at 2w PP. 10 to go before I'm back at my pre-pregnancy weight.
  • In case anyone else finds this thread super discouraging: I'm up 5lbs from my last pregnancy weigh in (which was 2weeks before Ruth was born) at 7weeks PP.

Lack of sleep always really messes with my metabolism, the same thing happened with my older daughter. Once I'm able to sleep a little more, hopefully some weight will start coming off. For now, though, main priority is helping Ruth with her (very slow) weight gain.

From what I can tell my weight has bounced around a bit too but I don't know exact numbers. Gaining weight has always been easy for me. Losing is super tough
