Yes, tomorrow is CD10. Finished my round of Clomid a couple days ago, and go in for monitoring tomorrow morning. Ovidrel has been ordered and should arrive tomorrow, though I doubt I'll do the trigger shot until next week sometime. My follies tend to take a looooong time to mature. Starting to consider how I'm going to manage if we have to do the IUI on Thanksgiving!!!!

Hi all - I went in for monitoring today. I'm CD 9. I have a 14mm folli in my left ovary and in my right there's a 14 and 3 13mm. My doctor told me to mentally prepare for the fact this cycle may be canceled if too many mature. I go back on Sunday to see how many have grown and to what size.

FINGERS CROSSED.

Much to my surprise, at my US this morning my RE told me to trigger while I was still on the table, and we're doing IUI #3 first thing tomorrow morning! It's only CD10, so I was really surprised - the last two cycles, my follies weren't even in the double digits yet on CD10!

Went for my exam today at CD 16 and I have one 22mm follicle and so I will have an IUI tomorrow morning. I was kinda bummed since the goal was to produce more than one follicle. I was told that 100mg of clomid is still a low dose and if I get a BFN this cycle they will bump it up to 150mg. I also brought up my concern that I began spotting at 9DPO and only had an 11 day LP last cycle. Most likely I will begin prometrium on Sunday. For those who have been on prometrium, what have your experiences been? FX for everyone!!

Hey all ~

I had my trigger on Tuesday and TI on Wed night (not officially an IUI so I hope you don't mind me posting on this thread - can't find another thread on this board that I fit). So I most likely ovulated sometime on Thursday. I've been having some strong ovary pain since Wed night but it's mostly on my left side, which is super strange since I only had one mature follicle (at 20mm) and it was on my right side. The pain is still there right now and I'm wondering if anyone had this happen before? The follicle on the left was about 11mm so I don't think it ever reached maturation. I have PCOS so did have a lot of smaller follicles and am wondering if the pain is just from stimulating my ovaries or from the left ovary not releasing some of the bigger follicles (that weren't quite big enough to pop). I don't know.

@erica0901 - I've taken prometrium for quite a few cycles. It always gave me a lot of side effects - nausea, sore boobs, headaches, tiredness, constant hunger, and cramps. But I was taking it orally and I heard that taking it vaginally is not as bad. Are you going to take it orally or vaginally? I also only had one follicle this cycle (after taking 5mg of Letrozole) and was bummed about that but at least it's better than nothing (there are many cycles where I don't ovulate at all). Fingers are crossed for you!!

@ErikaMG - did your RE say what your follicle sizes were? That does seem really early but good for you! It means less waiting time overall, right? I always ovulate quite late but this was my first medicated cycle and I ended up O'ing on CD16, which is super great for me (usually is 20+ days).

She didn't, but she said there was one that dominated the rest and it's "ready to go" which means it's over 20mm. She also said that it's common for women my age to fluctuate in how long it takes for follicles to grow. Also, AF was late this month, which is probably because I was taking progesterone last cycle, so that may have something to do with (not sure though).

Thanks for your response @jilligan14 ! I am unsure until I go in tomorrow as to whether or not I will be taking it orally or vaginally, seems like I should advocate for vaginally though. GL to you this cycle!

erica0901 I have taken the prometrium vaginally the last three cycles twice daily (morning and night) and it tends to mimic pregnancy symptoms (sore boobs, bloating) but no headaches or excessive hunger for me. Definitely wear panty liners as there can be some "leakage". I tended to set my alarm an hour earlier in the morning, put it in, and then go back to bed and that seemed to help as it dissolved mostly. And then right before bed.  Good luck!

Just got the call from my RE for my third beta, it went up to 106 today from 66 16dpiui (and 50 14dpiui). Too bad it wasn't this number on Wednesday b/c that would have been doubling! I have to go back Monday to check levels to see if it starts going down on it's own and I have been given the emergency weekend line to call with any symptoms as there is still concern it could be ectopic. Of course now I'm going to be analyzing every little cramp and twinge thinking "Is that normal or is that painful enough to call?" It doesn't help that I have a fairly high pain tolerance so this might be an anxiety filled weekend.

This is the second chemical pregnancy in a row so starting to get really frustrated with my body. At this point, I'm not sure what the next steps should be if we should just move to IVF where there is a little more control or just try and change up the meds for an IUI since it seems to be working somewhat. Since we are traveling over the holidays, looks like December will be a month off since we most likely won't be able to fit in another cycle - maybe that's what my body (and mind) need.

@ErikaMG yay cycle buddies!! Are you planning on doing anything different this cycle during the TWW? I'm going to buy a pineapple and I'm thinking about cutting out caffeine...

erica0901 try a handful of walnuts as well! And keeping your feet warm. That's what I've been told and did along with the pineapple core and even though the last two IUI's were chemicals, they were still positives!

@mtpohmer I've had one cp--naturally and one ectopic with an iui. Since I am working towards my third iui now my doctor ordered a histeroctopy to see if there is a reason why it's not attaching to my uterus. I find out Monday.

Went for IUI #4 this morning! It was the easiest one so far and the fresh sample fared much better than last IUI's frozen sample! I've spent the afternoon working from home so hoping all the stars are aligning.

Do we get bonus points for being REAR ENDED in traffic heading to the appointment with DH's fresh sample in the truck? Sooooo stressful to get it there in time. Luckily - we were the last car in the 3 car wreck - we're fine - and husbands truck is fine (woohoo for trailer hitches)!

Now on to the lovely TWW! Good luck everyone!!

@ErikaMG - Looks like you won't have to worry about having your IUI on Thanksgiving at least!!  I'm guessing that is exactly when mine will be, but I'll find out more info at my CD7 ultrasound tomorrow morning.

@jilligan14 - Hopefully your TI this month will do the trick!  Sorry about your ovary pain... hopefully that subsides really soon.

I did pineapple and cut caffeine the last two cycles... I'll probably cut caffeine, but I'm so sick of pineapple at this point, I don't think I'm doing that again! Aside from eating healthy, avoiding processed foods, and getting light exercise daily, I don't think there's anything else I can do, so I'm just praying!

@wifeinraleigh28 - I know! I'm so relieved! Now my only dilemma is what to tell my family at Thanksgiving dinner when they inevitably notice that I'm not drinking... ::sigh::  Good luck at your US tomorrow. I hope your body cooperates with your holiday schedule!

@ErikaMG - just tell your family you have a headache and don't want to make it worse... that's what I do!  Unfortunately if my IUI is on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday next week I'm going to HAVE to tell my sister and bro-in-law what we're doing.  Not sure how else my husband and I can disappear for a few hours (when we have them staying at our house) and not tell them what's going on.  Especially if it's on Thanksgiving!!  If anyone has any suggestions for that, I'm all ears!!

So I just got a call from the doctor's office saying that according to my blood work I already ovulated!?!? The IUI is cancelled for tomorrow. I am beyond frustrated right now. We did have sex last night, and will again tonight, but the lack of monitoring I experienced during this cycle is not excusable. If this isn't our cycle I will make sure to advocate for myself next cycle since it seems like you have to speak up for yourself!

Ugh, @erica0901 that is so frustrating.  How long has it been since they had last monitored you?  Hopefully your timing was good though and you never know, this could be your cycle!

@tbyars07 - Are you kidding?!!  It is stressful enough trying to get to the clinic in time with fresh semen!  I can't imagine what was going through your minds when you got rear ended.  Glad you're okay and FX your IUI is successful!  I definitely think you deserve bonus points

@wifeinraleigh28 my past two cycles I was monitored around CD13, and this go around today was my first check in this cycle! I really should have spoken up, but I thought they are the doctors they know what they are doing. Boy was I wrong! Although I am maintaining a positive attitude since they did a post coital test today which they said looked really good and that the timing was good as well.

@jilligan14 I also have PCOS and after my trigger shot had awful left ovary pain! I did have two mature follicles on that side but dr said to "baby" it and not wear tight pants, etc. definitely uncomfortable!

@erica0901 I would be so frustrated too! I worry about this happening to me because i feel that they go long periods of time without checking! I try to convince myself that they are the experts and to not overthink it, but now I def will speak up about it!

I just had my iui yesterday ! Good luck to everyone during their 2ww! Happy thanksgiving . Idk about any of you but I have a tape work with these hormones And I'm looking forward to all the yummy comfort food and being distracted during my 2ww!

@erica0901 you said you went in and were checked today? and then this afternoon they called and said you ovulated already?? When you were checked today did you have an ultrasound? Did they see follicles?? Shouldn't they be able to see if you did ovulate on the ultrasound?  I know bloodwork can show it to but I'm confused how that happened.

Either way if you baby danced you still have a shot but I totally get your frustration

@rachlee2010 that's the confusing part. They did the US and I saw the 22 mm follicle so I don't understand how I was already ovulating. Is it even possible that the follicle(s) that released the egg was already not visible on the US?

Hmmm..I don't know @erica0901  My dr told me they can usually tell you ovulated because the follicle becoms what they call the corpus lutem (or something like that)  I don't know how soon that happens though.  I know about 6 months ago they did tell me something about ovulating like right when you are there and blood work showing it or something..I don't remember exactly as I didn't ovulate that entire cycle so it didn't effect me but maybe it's possible that you ovulated like while you were there kind of thing..I don't know how the bloodwork works exactly and if your LH shows ovulation right before, during or only after..maybe your blood levels go up before the egg releases or maybe it takes a little for the follicle to shrink down once the egg is released..I feel like if it was me on monday morning I would call the nurse and just ask how it works with bloodwork and seeing the follicle.  

Either way don't give up hope as you did baby dance right around ovulation so it's def. Possible.  Have you started prometrium? I am on it as well..are you taking it vaginally or orally?  I am taking it vaginally twice a day.

@rachlee2010 Thanks for your response! I will definitely be calling the office Monday morning to get some clarification. I just started the prometrium orally today twice per day and will be on it for 12 days. I do feel somewhat OK that we BD right around ovulation and the PC test looked good so there is still a good chance this cycle. Where are you in your cycle? GL to you!!

I just had my CD7 ultrasound and the doc said I have 4 follicles at 12mm so it's likely all 4 of those will mature.  He's keeping me on follistim for 2 more nights, adding ganirelix tomorrow night with it to delay ovulation, and then he said I will likely trigger on Monday and have my IUI on Wednesday.  Wednesday is only CD11 but I guess my body is just responding really well to the meds...  I'll be happy to not have my IUI on Thanksgiving Day!  He also said that there's a chance for multiples with 4 follicles but I'm not concerned because of our MFI issue.  I think even with 4 we'll be lucky to get 1 fertilized.

@kh87 - thanks for sharing your experience. The left ovary pain is slowly subsiding so that's good...

@erica0901 - that's so crazy that you O'd early. I think they can tell a lot from the LH level but maybe it takes awhile to show up on the ultrasound. I don't think the follicle quickly turns into a corpus luteum, I think it takes like 24 hours or something? I'm not sure, though. Hopefully things will still work out!

@wifeinraleigh28 - oooooh, so exciting! I only got one mature follicle so you are super lucky with all those potentials!!

Thanks @jilligan14!!  I was hoping for more than 2.  If we didn't have an MFI issue I know it would be a bigger concern, but I feel like I need to overcompensate on my end!!  I know this is also why our doc put me on injections right from the get go.

Let me know what they say on monday @erica0901  I am at the end of my cycle.  My IUI was on mon the 9 so I go in on Monday for my beta..Glad the 2ww is almost over..I hate this part..I prefer the beginning of the cycle when I have a little more control and am taking the meds/shots.. Hoping this is my month but not getting to hopeful
