Re: Low AMH Level

  • @Hopeful_mom girl, I swear, my life is always like this.   Nothing can just be easy.   But I know she will be 100% worth every tear, every sadness, and every drop of blood.  Let's just hope she is over giving me a heart attack,  until she is a teenager. Haha.

    @mbradfo2 yes, that's how I'm feeling.   I think it will resolve without lovenox on board and praying we have smooth sailing from here on out.  Im definetly celebrating this small victory and now mentally preparing for my next milestone at 8 weeks. just taking it one step at a time.   I've never had any success with all my IVF journey so this is huge!!!  Seeing so many of you ladies back after having your successes gives me hope and helps me see it is possible.

  • Catching up on several days of updates:
    @lucyb1954 so many congratulations to you!
    @andreamm31 I'm glad things are looking good! The bleeding had to be so startling. I'm glad you're OK and that she's burrowed in there!
    @Hopeful_mom I will be sending positive thoughts your way! Double, double!

    I was supposed to start a second round of stims about 12 days ago but when I went for my suppression check, I had a huge leading follicle alongside six or seven little guys. We cancelled the cycle and triggered. (My RE said only the leading follicle would disappear and she hoped that the other follicles would stick around -- I didn't really understand how that would happen but I am hoping it works?) My period should come this weekend and we'll hope to give it another go.
    I am putting a lot of hope into the 6-7 AFC, an improvement from the 4 AFC during my diagnostic testing!

  • @andreamm31- !!!!!!!! What an update! So thrilled to read it!!!!!!!! I’m over here doing my cautiously thrilled for you dance:)

    @hopeful_mom I know we already had a chat but I know so many at this point that have had success with a beta starting low but I know how scary it is.  Thinking of you and hoping with all I’ve got that I’ll be adding you to that list of success.

    @mbradfo2 on the edge of my seat for you!  So glad you have some distractions before test time!

    @Imajin99 I’m sorry you weren’t able to get all the measurements but I’m happy your husband will get to go with you to the hospital scan!!!!  Very excited to hear about the sex!!!!!  I hope everything goes ok at the diabetes clinic, I’m sorry you have to deal with that.

    On my phone so can’t do a spoiler box (unless I can, if so can come one tell me how???). @lucyb1954 you are doing so great!!!!!!!    I can remember the day I finally had success with a carrier.  Sierra was 6lbs so I tried all these wraps my sister dropped off, the ka’tan ended up working for me and I was over the MOON!  but then 2 days later she decided she hated it. Hahahaha!!!!!!!   So we kept trying and many weeks later we finally settled into it, but at that point I started using a regular carrier because she weighed more.     Ooof and as for the colic and gas, make sure your pediatrician is on the look out for milk protein allergy because that’s what we were dealing with but addressing it did solve the colic problem.  Very much hoping that’s not the case for you, but mentioning it since it seems to be common especially an issue with babies on formula.  Most babies seem to be crazy gassy as their digestive systems get sorted out but if you do see anything that looks like mucus or blood in the poop, make sure to tell your peed cuz it could be a MPA (milk protein allergy) which they usually outgrow by 1 year.
    Me: Hashimoto Autoimune Disease
    Homozygous MTHFR Cr677
    DOR - AMH  .27 High FSH (don't even know how high)
    2 iui's to start - BFN
    IVF 1 -3 made it do day 5!    2 5AA 1 6BB  PGS results =  all abnormal :(
    IVF 2 - stimmed for 19 days. insanity. Had 5 follicles that looked mature but only 2 contained mature eggs the others were empty.  Nothing made it to day 5
    IVF 3 - added in HGH - 4 mature follicles (had some empties again) 3 made it to day 5/6 for PGS (held for testing with next retrieval
    IVF 4 - Upped my dosage for the first time - Canceled 11 days into sims - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
    IVF 5 - Canceled -  looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
    IVF 6 - 3 mature, 2 fertalized 1 made it to day 5 and sent for PGS

    Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!!  1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.

    FET#1 - Intralipid drips, Prednisone, and did a depot lupron shot before starting the FET protocol
    Chemical pregnancy
    FET#2 - PGS normal boy - BFN
    Natural pregnancy - cycle following the FET2????   Miscarriage at 8 weeks.  viability scan had shown an enlarged yolk sac so I had been warned that it was likely not chromosonally normal :(

    DEIVF cycle - picked a donor who is willing to be open! Her cycle resulted in in 4 PGS Normal embryos
    1st transfer - chemical pregnancy
    2nd transfer - success, May 17 2020 due date!

  • @Hopeful_mom
    hehe, I feel the same way reading @andreamm31 's updates!

    @hopefuljj
    I think if the gentle formulas and drops don't help much, milk allergy is the next thing I would look at. Yeah, it sucks, you sometimes have to give Alimentum, Nutramigen or the equivalent (and they aren't cheap), but it can make such a huge difference. DH works from home today so he's going to watch DD for a bit and I'll go drop off the toppers and then pick up some wrapping paper and some extras for her big day. I need to do a deep clean of her room before she gets all of her new toys on Friday and I'm sorta dreading that. If it's nice today, I'll probably fill the water side of her new sand table and get her in her swimsuit for some splashing.

  • mbradfo2 I love day care at your house :)  It's nice you'll be able to celebrate, we didn't last year and i'm not sure even in a few months that I'll be ready to!  How are you feeling?

    @c-town18 thanks for confirming the internet wasn't cooperating when I was going down the rabbit hole.  I love that we're the same number or a digit off, I know tomorrow will be telling so just trying to really stay as positive as I can be over here!!  I even stopped testing as I don't think that will help me as this point and just cause more anxiety!  I can't believe you're 38 weeks already!  How are you feeling?  I have to imagine this go around was tougher with a toddler.

    @andreamm31 I always say on this board we could write a book and everyone would be a different chapter...I think you could cover the entire book ;)

    @andreamm31- spotting is always scary! I had the same experience- spotting before my 6 week. It was an SCH and turned out ok. For some reason, they are much more common with IVF. I wish they would do a 7 week scan for you for peace of mind!!

    @mbradfo2- thinking of you as well. The tww is no fun but having a birthday party is a good distraction!!!

    Yeah, I know sooo many ladies who had SCH in their successful IVF pregnancies. I do wish you were getting another scan next week!

    AFM
    Started feeling some dull cramps this morning that seem to come and go a bit, boobs are definitely more sore and I feel unusually tired -- dozed a little in the super soft rocker while DD watched her Paw Patrol. The reclining/footrest rocker we got for DD is the most comfortable chair in the house -- we're redecorating our living room and DH is ordering a second one to go in there because I insisted lol.

  • no good news below :(

    AFM: I'm out :( literally went up one point to 52.  Its like I took the test and the baby hit the road right after.  I'm so frustrated!  Not sure what's worse getting the negative or going through this torture.  The fact that it was PGS and implanted but stopped is just killing me!  Dr said we can do an ERA and endosee.  Endosee is new to me.  Honestly I don't think they're going to show anything.

  • @Hopeful_mom. I'm so sorry girl.  I know how this feels,  my last transfer was the same way. I just don't understand why these healthy embryos start implanting then stop?? And why don't these doctors have answers??? I've been thinking about you all day and praying for you.  Have you done an ERA before?? Mine showed I needed an extra 24 hours of progesterone, so it may show something?  I'm not sure what that other test is though.  Seems like your timing is mostly right because it did start implanting.... maybe it just needs an extra something to continue implanting, like I needed the Prednisone for it to be successful?? Ughhhh, im just so sorry.   Sending you hugs girl.  Go drink a big ol glass of wine.

  • @Hopeful_mom So sorry to hear about that, was really hoping this was going to stick for you.
    AFM: not very good and need advice
    Went back today for the detailed ultrasound and they spent 2 hours and long story short they told me my baby girl (found out the gender) is missing part of her right leg from the knee downwards. I was not expecting this news at all I know they did no see things in the last one but I had a scan at 15+6 weeks and 3 at the OBGYN.  In fact my appointment at the OBGYN on Wednesday she comments on here are her two legs and feet.  We spoke with her this afternoon and she indicated she probably didn't examine it that closely and since this scan was at the hospital and the tech brought in a Dr that tried searching she thinks this is the case.  Also since I had 2 negative NIPT they want me to meet with genetic counsellor and do an amino since this could be sign of something else.  Wishful thinking...have you ever seen them make a mistake?  If there is another chromosomal issue what are my options at 20 weeks :(  my heart is broken.

  • Hopeful_mom - I'm so sorry.  I have no answers for why this happens but I'm thinking of you.

    Imajin99 - I don't know the likelihood that the scan could be wrong; are you thinking of getting a second opinion?  Remind me of what chromosomal testing you have done so far.  Any idea what your doctor thinks an amnio might show? I'm sorry you're going through this and I support you no matter what you decide. You may want to google Aimee Mullins though and check out some of her Ted Talks, she's amazing and I'm obsessed with her.
  • @lmajin99 I would for sure ask for a second opinion and have another scan.   Maybe she's bent in a way that it's obscured? I wouldn't proceed with an amnio until you have a second scan to confirm. Im with you on the wishful thinking.   I'm so sorry you are going through this.   My heart just sank reading your post.  Praying it's just a mistake, but if it is not,  then we are all here to support you.  I just can't even imagine after everything you have been through.   Praying there are no other chromosomal abnormalities. Sending you so much love and a virtual hug.

  • @hopeful_mom- I’ll say it again on here, sending you alllll the love. I wish I had good answers for peace after a failed cycle but I haven’t figured it out myself. Grieve, hug baby girl and try to find the strength to keep going on this horrible
    rollercoaster once you are ready.

    @lmajin99- girl, I’m sending so many virtual hugs. Did you have your AS done at a special location that does all AS? My hospital has all AS done at MFM and has them reviewed by the MFM. If something like this would be found, we would be referred to the local (amazing) Children’s Hospital Fetal concerns center to discuss next steps. Is there something like that in your area? I would want to deal with ONLY the best specialists who have seen these types of results before.
    I am NO expert, but I would also want another scan, and would be hesitant on the amino. I’m not sure that all physical issues reallt come from a genetic issue. For example, lots of heart issues could never be found in genetic testing. I think unfortunately things can go wrong during development for physical things, but chromosomally are fine. That would be the ideal situation I think? Of course, I would be so upset about the leg, but if you could be reassured everything else is ok, hopefully that would bring you hope and peace? Sending you so much love

  • @BusinessWife @jamieh2000 @andreamm31 @c-town18
    Thank-you for your words and comments. I am still trying to digest everything as it is the weekend and cannot do anything more. I was referred to the Fetal Genetics clinic but did not get a call yesterday.  Hoping that I can go in as soon as possible and ask for a 2nd opinion/scan.  I still cannot get over that after 3 scans at fertility clinic, 3 scans at OBGYN, 1 scan at the hospital when I went to the ER, 2 detailed scans at 16 weeks and 20 weeks that not one person commented on this potential issue. However, I have moved away from wishful thinking and know that potential reality and the choices we may have to make very quickly.  My mind keeps going back to my recording from the OBGYN on Wednesday where she is like of look at the baby's fists, oh there is two legs, oh and two feet...
    @c-town18
    I had the quad screening but had missed the timeline for the NT scan so the genetic counsellor sent me for a scan at 15+6 and even though a lot of things were not seen on the report but it said no abnormalities issues detected. The reason things ran late as I had opted for the NIPT and had an inconclusive at 13 weeks; they did a repeat and that was inconclusive as well.
  • @Imajin99 I know I emailed you, but just wanted to add on to the pile -- here for you whatever happens. <3<3<3
  • @Imajin99
    I can't even begin to imagine all of thoughts that must be going around in your head and how much anxiety you must have right now. <3<3  It's a possibility it was just obscured, obviously less likely if it was checked multiple times over the course of your scan. I think it's also likely that your OB was just saying "2 feet, 2 legs" somewhat off-handedly and not necessarily saying in a medical sense -- however, I find it surprising as well that none of this was noted in the previous scan at 15 weeks (and to some extent with the 1st trimester scans since with the ultrasound technology today, limb differences can be diagnosed fairly early but I'll allow that no one was likely looking for that in those scans). That being said, I think it's a positive that this appears to be an isolated issue and so I wouldn't jump to a genetic disorder at this point. Genetic disorders typically present as sets of defects so I would expect more than one to be seen during an in-depth scan, although you do have the history of the inconclusive NIPT which may raise the risk (although it is often associated with IVF treatment as well as GD, pre-E and other maternal complications rather than fetal issues). To me as an armchair diagnostician, my first thought goes to amniotic banding even though it's fairly rare -- little threads of the amnion separate or pull off the sac and wrap around parts of the fetus, causing growth restriction. Usually this affects digits, but a limb is totally possible. I would get further evaluation with a MFM and geneticist, and then decide if an amnio is what you want. Time is a concern at this point so I would hope that they can accomplish everything, including an amnio or fetal treatment if you want, fairly rapidly. Hopefully this is just a non-issue and you can move forward with some resolution in the next few weeks! <3<3

    @andreamm31
    Ugh, @ladyp0tteris not having an easy go of it. As I said to @Imajin99 ,  inconclusive NIPT is increasingly associated with potential maternal complications or IVF rather than fetal issues, perhaps because the cohort tends to be older than the typical OB population. It must be so frustrating to go through this. Sorta why I skipped the NIPT, honestly. It's still a little bit too new for me - it just became a thing in the past 10 years - and I prefer just relying on ultrasound and quad screens (although I skipped that too). Hope you are doing well enough and glad that it's been just older blood now!! Your next scan is a week from Monday, right?

    @hopeful_mom
    I'm so sorry you didn't get better results...this is always a loss. Hug your beautiful little girl and take the time you need to grieve.

    AFM

    I told @lucyb1954 but I got a positive HPT this AM and another this evening (honestly haven't had a chance to take pics of pee sticks lol I'll probably dig them out of the drawer later and obsess over progression - the line was there but somewhat faint this AM, and maybe a bit darker this evening. We've just been so busy between DD's birthday yesterday (she is still dragging around her birthday balloons and saying 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!' and asked for birthday cake at breakfast this morning) and then shopping this afternoon. I still haven't folded the laundry, sigh. And now I need to go get DD to clean up her room and get ready for bed. Feeling a little giddy/anxious/something over everything and not sure what to think, but as my RE likes to say, this is a good start. It's crazy to think that next year at this time I might have two little girls; already thinking about names which is silly (Elise is one of my top ones atm). But as we know, unfortunately, it's a long journey from BFP to baby...

    I hope the tags worked in this; they were getting super wonky for me and I had to redo them a couple times!!!

    @lucyb1954 Thank you for reaching out, I appreciate it.
  • Just got back from the bloodwork...they usually call by 1 pm EST. Unfortunately the labs are done through a local hospital so I can't cheese the system and call Quest to get the results earlier. They also ran progesterone to make sure it's good. The nurses there are so awesome...DH had to go into work early and they let me bring DD in since it was before any patient appointments and entertained her while I did the draw.

    LOL I was resting! My boobs have been super sore since yesterday and it was hard to find a good position to sleep. And I was so anxious since I didn't take any more tests after Sat. I get my second one drawn Wednesday so we'll see how this goes. I'm trying to temper my expectations since 2 of my 3 gestations so far resulted in miscarriage (counting the vanishing twin as one) but I keep thinking that this is a tested embie so that has to be good, right?
