I am a Speech Language Pathologist and DH is a chef. We both love what we do! I do hope to one day open up a center for the homeless to re-enter workforce, etc.
My SO and I are both naval architects. We travel a ton together through work- that's how we met. We usually travel two to three weeks a month doing structural assessments on ships. I guess our constant travel's gonna change soon enough...
My husband is currently unemployed, but I am a Service Coordinator at the local designated mental health agency. I work with adults with developmental disabilities in order to help them meet goals and get benefits through the government and other agencies. I love the people I work for but I'm considering switching over to working a school with children instead so that I can get summers off now that I'm going to be a mom.
I'm a postal worker and my spouse just finished his phd and is looking for a teaching job!
Me too! I'm a city carrier. Trying to figure out how I'm going to do this haha.
I've been poking around and am kind of appalled by the fact that we don't get anything but the 12 week unpaid FMLA! Huge props to you, though - I'm a clerk, and I'm amazed by how hard you all's jobs are! I'm definitely not taking any time off for the next eight months to bank up some time!
I know!! Unpaid will suck so we are saving as much as we possibly can so float us through those weeks. I had to break down and tell my bosses bc i got called out for throwing up in someone's yard haha.
I have been poking around to see if I can transfer to a driving route in another town, or even get a clerk position. Otherwise it may be time to look into getting a supervisor position (204B) maybe. Sit on my butt in the office lol
I am a social worker who works as an independent living specialist with teens between the ages of 16-21 who are or have been in the foster care system. It's pretty great and I love working with the population. My husband is a fiscal manager for the university.
I'm an army medic (and 5 classes away from my BA! Woo!) and DH works at a vintage game store after over a decade in the army. I told him he can get a real job when I get out and there's a baby to support, until then I'm happy that he loves his job so much!
I work at costco wholesale as a full time cashier and it with this pregnancy is killing me. My husband is currently working at Cracker Barrel but is about ready to start a lucrative career in the computer world (software engineering). Hopefully by the time this blueberry is born, DH will have his dream job and I can take online courses to get mine! We're soooooooooooo clooooooooose!
Hi! I'm new to the club--just found out yesterday! I'm an environmental lawyer working on clean water policy. My DH does training and safety certification for tire professionals.
