Wanted to wear one of DH's flannels today, but I can't figure out how to get the sleeves to not be so baggy! Any ideas? I don't want to do anything permanent since he still wears it sometimes.
I think we will wait to put everything out and then put the elf on top of the Santa gifts - I did different paper for each kid (and then a separate "Santa" paper). It kind of makes it nice that DS1 can't read yet, but it's the starting to create the illusion that makes it the difficult part.

@skruhmin We always put jars of pickled items in ours...okra, green beans(DH fav.), asparagas, exotic hot pickles. Also my parents always put novilty glass bottles of sodas in flavors like key lime, dreamsicle, cream soda etc. (Still my favortie.)
I have been wondering about the owlet monitor too. DH is so sold on it (he loves anything electronic and nifty) but I carry the logic....babies have been sleeping just fine without them for years.
Has anyone else's Mobil bump app been acting strange? I got a new phone so I don't know if it's the phone or the app but while I am typing a response, it logs me out so that I am unable to post my comment. So I have to copy the whole thing go back a few pages becuase that magically logs me back in and them come back to this page and paste my comment to post. Three days of this now and I'm so annoyed with it.

The android app sucks for me. If ANYTHING interrupts my typing (like a phone call or a notification), it will log me out and I have to start all over. Its a big PITA.

@charley15 Yeah, it logs me out any time I leave the app. I can't leave mid-comment to go find an awesome gif becuase when I get back it's a train wreck!
Side note: This morning baby did this weird thing that felt like she was playing the piano up and down my rib cage, possibly with her feet. Thankfully it didn't hurt at all...just the weirdest feeling I have had inside me...ever.
We wrap presents from us and put them under the tree after bedtime on Christmas Eve. We usually leave Santa's presents unwrapped and in operating order. Santa is getting him a teepee for his big boy room so it will be all set up.
I haven't heard of the owlet but we have the angel care monitor and I love it. It just gives me so much peace of mind.
We always have Christmas presents under the tree before Christmas my kids love to see them and they get excited just seeing them it's basically a count down. We wrap Santa presents in different paper and we type up the tags so there is no handwriting for them to see. My son just turned 9 and I'm afraid he's going to start asking about Santa.
We don't do Santa. I want all the credit for my kids' gifts! Haha.
So I take a nap every afternoon with my girls, but I've been sleeping terribly at night, so I'm trying to skip the nap today. So.Tired. Can't.Keep.My.Eyes.Open . . .

I wish we didn't. I hate lying to him, but every time I say that out loud I'm met with jeers and accusations of being a Scrooge. I just know he's going to be really upset when he learns the truth.
So my belly POPPED this week ladies. I took my HDBD pic today because I'm spending tomorrow in pajamas. Man oh man it's HUGE compared even to last week.
Hey y'all! Glad to see everyone's doing good! @skruhmin We always wait until all the kids are asleep on Christmas Eve to put out all the presents. I love the look on their faces when they get up and see them! I'm sure I missed a lot of other things I could have said but I just had to go through 4 pages to catch up lol.
I've been wondering where you've been. Don't tell me you have actual things to do that are more important than US?! Welcome back, happy catching up etc etc
We put the presents out Xmas eve after the girls are asleep, for 2 reasons:
1) I probably still have to wrap most of them at that point 2) If I put them out any earlier, the toddler of doom would certainly destroy them.
Barely catching up... So on the whole yucky lice issue, did anyone else see the news report about how they're getting vicious? Apparently there's a new breed that's resistant to the shampoos and burrowing deeper into pillows so they're really hard to kill off. hope none of your kiddos are experiencing that but it made me even more terrified of them and grateful to not work with itty bitty kiddos anymore.
Ugh! I still don't have a gift for DH!! He's so high maintenance and picky!! He wants wireless headphones for running but he's picky about the kind he gets. He wants a Fitbit but again isn't sure which one and he's picky about that too. Wants a new radio/alarm/iPhone docking station but he's snubbed his nose at everything he's seen at the stores so far. Clothes I won't even bother with. He's seeing an endocrinologist for a thyroid disorder and despite constantly running daily, crossfit 6 times a week, and doing mixed martial arts 4 times a week all while counting his calories his weight keeps going up so he's in a lot worse shape about his weight and appearance than I am right now. Cologne he has a ton of because he refuses to be a smelly PE teacher. AGGGHHHH!! Can I just give him coal? Lol (I'm only half joking).
@mrspepper05 if it makes you feel any better I have to go CHRISTMAS EVE to pick up my lay-away. THAT is going to suck! Good thing I just make DH go- I can't stand in line for that long anymore lol. I have grandparents taking DD for the afternoon so we can go get the presents and get them wrapped before she gets home.

I got dh an Apple Watch. It is best of all of the worlds. I'm terrible at keeping secrets and already gave it to him. He is obsessed with it!
@soxfan9968 If you're going to go the Fitbit route, I would get him the Charge HR. Sucks that he is so picky about things but I guess at least he (kind of) knows what he wants??
Has anyone seen the Owlet Monitor advertised on Facebook? I'm kind of at odds here - it seems like an awesome technology but in the back of my mind I'm thinking two of my kids were fine without any monitors like this. What say you BTDT moms? Am I being dumb by not buying this?
i want one *SO* badly, but they are pricey! all three of my kids have had so many apnic episodes as infants though (the most recent one had them frequently and the middle one had a critical episode). it seems like it is a lot better than the snuza. and if baby comes early for some reason idc how much they are i am buying one. in one of my fb groups a mama reviewed hers (with photos) and convinced me even more. and i imagine it could be consigned once we were done with it. ... i will see if i can c/p her review here ...

Ok I have this device. Bare with me I'll write a little review as I do my midnight pump
So the owlet is a little device that your baby wears on their foot. It monitors the babies heart rate and oxygen levels as they sleep.
It is completely useless when they are awake as it will not monitor if they are moving. My attitude towards this is that if baby is awake and moving she is alive. However I do use a snuzza monitor during these times.
Equally it won't work well in a swing either.
So this is purely a sleep monitor for deep sleeping times to give you ease at night
The device is really easy to set up. But it's a slight learning curve to get the sock just right. So practice in the day. Not just before you go to bed. But once you got it. It's really easy. If the sock falls off the base station will turn yellow and play a tune to let you know. This is an awesome feature. Since you won't get ffrightened thinking your baby is in trouble, you know it's just the sock
Also if the base station losses connection with the sock for any reason it will also llet you know by glowing blue and also singing (this usually happens if the sock is to far from the device)
Currently there is only an app for Apple devices, you don't need an app at all, but wwithout it you don't see the numbers. Also in a event the alarm goes off you won't know why. (You won't know if the heart rate detected was to high or low or if it was oxygen ) this is a big con for me, but I was lucky my father in law had an old iPhone he wasn't using.
Also you can get false alarms if you stay with stage 1 sock to long. You want to go to stage 2 sock as soon as it fits .
As a monitor it works amazing. I definitely trust it to watch over my sleeping baby. It also acts as a comforting night light, I watch it glow knowing my baby is okay. I don't have to accidently wake her to check if she is breathing.
It seems very accurate and definitely provides its services to help me sleep knowing she's being watched.
The biggest fail points is that it won't even attempt to monitor if she's awake and moving, which for the price I feel is an issue.
It's also not a portable device in the sense the base station needs to be in the same room as the baby and the sock (the phone with the app can move around though)
The alarm is very distinct and loud. You really cannot miss it. I do like that user error alarms (out of range or sock falling off ) are different alarms. This saves you having a heart attack.
This device is purely for bed time,
I love it. For me after Luna had bradycardia episodes in nicu it gave me peace of mind and allowed me to sleep. And I don't think you can put a price on sleep.
Their customer service is amazing. Hands down. I've had to talk to them twice.
This device can leave small pressure marks on the feet, they are harmless, but I just wanted to make you aware
Otherwise yea. For providing you peace of mind when you are deep sleeping it definitely works.
If you want a monitor for when your baby is awake and moving then this isn't really for you. Get a snuzza and turn the tick option on and judge from that (I use snuzza during the day or if she is in the swing)
The base station at night. It gently glows in and out to show it is both monitoring . You can dim this light but I find it comforting
Green is good The app
Yellow means sock is off. It will also alert you by playing a tune Blue means it's lost connection with the sock. It will also play a tune
Red means something is wrong and a loud ringing will sound. You can check your phone to see why it was ringing (or any other apple device with ios8 or highere

This is how the app let's you knw what's going on. This is when Luna was sick and her heart rate had gone up to over 220. So it definitely did it's job
@jmathi0149 I thought about getting him the iWatch. Just don't know if it's something he'd use. Since he has to be on his iPad all day anyway. Our school uses iPad for attendance, all class and homework assignments. Only benefit from it would be the gps but he has a garmin he just spent a lot of $ on.
@flowerpower5838 is that the one with heart rate monitor? It's the only thing his garmin doesn't do and why he wants it. To monitor his sleep too.
@soxfan9968 How? How??? lol I can't get it to post the gif after I enter it. Ridiculous....
And I'm sorry to hear about your DH's struggles... I can't imagine how stressful that would be for someone who works so hard to stay in shape . I hope his doctor is able to get to the bottom of it.
I won't lie, I had DH take a gift card I got and go buy himself a pair of shoes he would like. I'm wrapping them for under the tree. Very little mystery...
@soxfan9968 Yup! I had a polar watch HR monitor and DH bought me a cheapie Garmin to track steps, sleep, etc. but no heart rate so I am hoping to consolidate soon with the fitbit charge HR. I know quite a few people that have it and really like it.
