Glad everyone is safe in the storms. Had a check up and glucose today. Won't have the glucose results until tomorrow but the doctor was happy with all my measurements at my appointment.
I can understand the home remedy attempts but also wouldn't agree to early induction unless medically necessary. DS was induced at 36 weeks due to my pre e and he had typical low birth weight issues including fairly severe jaundice (we spent 6 days in the hospital with him). Since he was preemie and had to be monitored we missed out on the first few hours of his life. I am hoping this baby cooks as long as possible, although I will be a repeat c section so i know it will be slightly early.
I was induced at 37 weeks last time for high blood pressure that had lasted 8 weeks and wouldn't wish that on anyone. It was hard on my body and he had jaundice. I want to let this one cook as long as possible. Not to mention I may be the only one who isn't quite ready to have baby here yet. I'm nervous about the transition to two, not quite ready to start nursing again, and we have so much left to do!!
Guys I feel so shitty today. I always want to smack everyone who wants their baby to come early but I'm so ready to snuggle this little girl. I don't want her to come early I just want to fast forward or something. Makes me feel crappy idk why is pregnancy ridiculous lol. Does it feel this way with second+ baby?
YES. to everything ^ i hate to wish away the time, especially since this is our last, but fast-forward would be so tempting. my last pregnancy flew by until the end. this one is *draggggggggging*
@SarahFoley725 I hate to say this but with each of mine my labors got shorter but the amount of time I was pregnant seemed to get longer. I only get super uncomfortable the last 2-4 weeks though. That's usually when I stay out of the house and walking as much as I can possibly handle because that has always worked for me.
@ecwk I like how you only added 2 weeks haha but yes I feel like I've been pregnant foreverrrr.
I'm really sad I didn't look into that name spelling thread recently. I missed so much.
Haha I know, you're right. I just feel 23 feels the same as 21 or 22 but 25 seems very far along! Also, this has undoubtedly come up before but it just occurred to me that it's not impossible that someone here could end up having baby on Feb 29th! The name spelling thread was nuts!!!

I hope it's not me! My friend is a leap year baby and he always said its the worst. That should be my 38 weeks I guess since I'm Due the 14th
Also @ecwk if you end up having a girl I'll pee my pants.
So we finally found something we liked for babies room. I'm having the crib skirt, blanket, and throw pillow made. We can't decide if it's too busy to do curtains too. DH and I think it is but my mom says it would be fine. What do y'all think? Someone mentioned doing a valance too. Help!
@sarahfoley725 that is precious! I'm all for bold prints in smaller accents around the room, so I think the skirt, blanket, and a pillow would be perfect. I'd hold off on using the pattern for an entire curtain panel, but it might work to use excess fabric as tie backs for a neutral solid curtain.
@SarahFoley725 you could do a valance and/or ties and then just a solid color for the curtains. I guess if the room was big enough it wouldn't be too busy, but I personally think it would look like too much pattern along with everything else to do full curtains.
I agree with the group. I love the print but I would do one of the other. Either do solid curtains and accessorize with the fabric or do solid crib sheets and skirt and have the curtains. I personally like it when curtains are the focal point of the room. Here is ds1's room.
@soxfan9968 Thank you. Let me try to figure out DD's room first. The girl room is much harder for me than the boy was!maybe I used up all of my creative juices on his room. Haha.
@SarahFoley725 are you selling Scenty or is that someone else?? Either way if you or whoever is selling could post your website I have some things to order and my regular girl no longer sells it. Figured I could help someone on the TB out instead of finding another rep.

I'm trying really hard to get some nutrition into my body! Instead of my cereal for breakfast, I mashed up an avocado, mixed with some salsa and cheese, to make a dip and while I'm still eating it with blue corn tortilla chips, some veggies/fruit are better than none! I tried eating broccoli last night with cheese sauce- made me gag. I feel like I'm missing out, not eating vegetables.
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
Morning ladies! Today is my specialist appointment and even after taking DH to work and getting a smoothie I'm half an hour early. Oh well! Hopefully just good news today (: happy Wednesday!
I think I have only bought tools so far to make things for my cats. I built them a cat tree a few years ago and now I bought a jig saw to make a baby proof and dog proof litter box cover. The trunk was from good will and was the perfect width ( which was so hard to find) but too shallow so we attached legs and cut a hole out of the bottom so the litter box could be sunk-in the trunk to give them more head room. Happy to have one less thing to worry about when LO starts exploring
Well we've got our monthly "ladies support each other!" thread started in the 1st tri board. And yes, as you'd guess it's by new members who have stepped in to complain instead of contribute

Nevermind. Tbg's shut it down for "bullying". Freakin seriously?!
Ugh she is on the PGAL board, and her one post had a disclaimer at the bottom that she didn't want any snarky responses. It honestly pissed me off, but that's not how those boards work. For TTCAL and PGAL those ladies are hurt and scared and sad, the women there would never start up a fight or be overly sassy because everyone is mourning, but I just thought it was ridiculous to dictate how someone would respond to you. I don't need my mommy telling me how to behave.

That is one of my biggest pet peeves, when someone says "no negative comments" or whatever. I'm always like I CAN SAY WHAT I WANT! haha
I know I'm a FTM and will probably end up complaining at some point about wanting baby out, but sometimes I just want to reach through the screen and slap people across the face for wanting to be induced or try to make labor happen early. I get that it's difficult carrying a baby for 9 months, but come on...

Oh everyone complains by the end. It's kind of our royal right after putting in so much time. But yeah, medical necessity vs. I'm uncomfortable.

Wow, that board escalated quickly...and was hilarious.
Just a quick aside to complain really quickly. I work in marketing, and was just sent a really complicated promotional animation video that was clearly designed by an agency or professional and then animated by an agency or professional and was asked if it was something "we could do ourselves". WHY do people think that trained artists and designers aren't necessary and that everything they do, we can also do...with no training, no art skills, etc. It PISSES ME OFF.
OK, sorry. Back to your regularly scheduled Wednesdays...

I deal with this regularly in software engineering. Luckily I have usability/human factors training so I know how to make things usable and pretty. Usually companies struggle with software being too engineer friendly.

I just can't deal with this^ and those people on the tri boards this morning... I'm going back to bed.
Totally sad I missed out on contributing to that one. I love how it's always started by somone who had been on the bump 2 seconds and has no responses.

Good luck! Being BTDT a few times, it NEVER gets old. Like it's the absolute best sound in the world - right next to that first time you hear your baby cry

@cmerribury This happened to me earlier this year!! I suggested to my work that we (aka an outsourced company) create a promotional sales video. I got some quotes and then they asked if I could do it myself. Ummmm if I could make animated videos that cost 2-10k, I wouldn't be working here lol. I ended up making a crappy video myself just to show them the difference.
