Setting: Grandma reading S old-timey bedtime story about the circus. She points out 2-headed cow in the sideshow and says out how sad it is.

S: why did you say it's sad grandma?

GMA: Because it's not normal. That cow is not a normal cow, which is sad. (Gma has proclivity for the goodness of "normalcy" that is annoying.)

S: But grandma, that cow can probably hear more things and see more things than any of the other cows. That's not sad.

This is where I like to throw in things like "Well your son thinks I'm hot" (pair that with a "and he likes to fuck me" if that's your style) and that will shut her up forever.

I just finished reading the last page, and it is so sad that their son found them. That poor boy. I hope that he has love and support to learn and grow from this horrific tragedy. 7 is such a young age.

Nikita is 7. I can't fathom her having to see something so horrible. It's heartbreaking.
