Apparently this is old news, but did you guys know this is the new lead singer of Journey?
Saw a PBS thing about him last night. The more you know.

I'm spending the second day waiting for stupid carpet people to come and fix my carpet. They were supposed to come yesterday. DH had to take apart all our furniture and we've been sleeping on our mattress in the bonus room. They are going to hear it from me when they get here. On top of that, Aubrey did not get a good nap because neighbors are having a pool put in and the noise is bad. I'm guessing the carpet people will show as soon as she falls asleep with the way this break has been going.
Yeah I saw some concert excerpts @collers4, I was impressed. He looks young enough to be the son of all the other members though, lol.

Good luck mr. Gutsy!!
Earlier today Alex head banged my nose. Hard. It's been a few hours and it still hurts. He laughed. (
@fabk : gah! DS thinks it's hilarious when he head-butts me. Not so hilarious when I put him down for hurting me. Soft touches, bro!
Lucas has started head-butting when I'm holding him and he's upset. It's really not cool. I'm glad we're not the only ones though, I was kind of worried about it.
On Saturday we were playing on our bed and he flung himself backwards and whacked the top bone of my eye socket with the back of his skull. It made a nasty sound. I yelled for DH to come make sure he was ok because I could barely even see for a couple minutes. L didn't seem to notice that anything had happened, but my eye still hurts.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
I asked DH how the interview went, and he IMed me a crying face, the face that looks like the scream painting, a sad face, and a poop icon.
That translates to it went really well, and he likes screwing with me. "I made them all laugh at least 3 times. We should go ahead and buy that laptop."
The minor down side is we have to buy him a laptop because he can't use a Mac.
The up side is that if we buy it tomorrow, we can deduct it on our 2014 taxes, and he won more than enough to cover it via fantasy football.
The even bigger up side is that he is thinking he'll set up his office in the basement, and has promised to clean and organize our basement storage and work on laundry in his down time.
ETA: He should find out for sure next week.

I'm running out of things to do in nap jail. I just took two FB quizzes. One guessed that my name was Sunshine and the other one said I 100% think like a man :-??

@fabk : DS does it when he's excited or mad he's not getting what he wants. I think it's just lack of spatial awareness & frustration.
Abby used to do the let's swan dive backwards when angry. On any surface or if anyone was holding her. She stopped doing that as she got more vocal, but we also went through her trying to hurt herself when she was angry.
DS just tries the head-butt or hitting when he gets extremely frustrated. It's rough. I hope your eye feels better.
Yay! @gutsymama Amazon has a Samsung laptop on deals of the day today for under $300 that has good reviews if he doesn't need anything super fancy.

LO is napping right now. She was out within seconds of being put down. We had a busy and fun filled morning at the children's museum. I love staying home and being home with her. It's beyond exhausting but I'm just so absolutely in love with my little munchkin. She's such a riot!
After nap, we're gonna go brave the cold again and go grocery shopping. We decided on grilled salmon, roasted asparagus, and quinoa pilaf to serve for our NYE dinner. And then doing the baked goat cheese and bacon wrapped dates for appetizers. And maybe just brownies and ice cream for dessert. That sounds good enough, right?

On closer inspection it's a Chrome book, not a traditional PC laptop. I don't think that's what you want, sorry! @gutsymama

Knocking out more to do's today! I'm at the X-ray place getting the xray I was supposed to get on December 10th. Got a nice year ending facial this am.
Pondering a small home improvement over the next week since I only have one paper to work on
Oh! So I took a big leap yesterday. This is NBD and a total BTDT moment for most, if not all of you, but a huge leap for me. I'm trying to work on my anxiety issues and taking baby steps as much as possible. We've never taken LO anywhere for an overnight trip ever. The thought of our bedtime routine and her sleeping somewhere she's not familiar with just engulfs me with fear and panic. So you can imagine that 17 months of not ever going on a trip can make somewhat of a bored and antsy DH.
Anyway, it's nothing fancy but we're staying overnight at an indoor water park on Friday night. It's only 20 minutes from home, so if I happen to have a total panic attack over it, then we could always go home. But I'm feeling optimistic about it. It's just one night. LO will sleep fine. DH will have a blast. And it's one fear that I will conquer and cross off my "Kick PPA's butt" list. Breathe in. Breathe out.
Speaking of Gherkin; how'd she do with food and inlaws over the holiday?
She did well! Turns out my sil and her husband have a niece with terrible allergies and know all about being careful. Other relatives weren't as good but we watched carefully. Thanks for thinking of her. Fil had loose nuts all over the fridge for some reason which I wasn't crazy about. We used a fridge in the basement instead.
Who just keeps loose nuts willy nilly in the fridge? I'm just picturing a lone peanut in the veggie drawer. A random cashew on the condiment shelf. Move that one almond so we can put our milk on the shelf.
Omg it is so cold sitting in the bathroom. On new years day it is suppose to snow a touch. I bet people are going crazy. At least up north will get much needed snow.

RE: The Playdoh - It's only dirty because the parents are seeing something dirty. I think it is NBD, and the parents posting that it "ruined Christmas" are being assholes. Get over it.
Great news about your DH's interview @gutsymama! (Sorry to lump you in with the penis talk)
@picklex Glad the gherkin survived her visit. My ILs used to keep nuts everywhere because my MIL likes to make these damn nut trees and they fed them to their parrots. Seriously, a whole fridge FULL of nuts.
