I really thought I was defying science last night after dinner. It was FIRM. But then I pooped and all is (relatively) back to normal bloat.
Me: 30; DH: 32
Married since 3/15/08.
Pregnancy 1: BFP on 1/24/11 - Molly born on 10/6/11!
Pregnancy 2: BFP on 11/5/14 - Baby #2 due on 7/17/15!
In between pregnancies, I've grown to love my "other" baby. The "carb baby", that's taken permanent residence in my belly, thanks to my overzealous love of bread, pasta and pastries. Hence my name.
I think the next sticky board might be "post your baby's sex" or something along those lines, so there aren't a million individual "Yay, it's a ____" topics.
@squeegoi you are 100% right about this. A mod from June posted a lovely sticky announcement on the June board where people can announce the sex. Maybe we can ask @NariaDreaming to make one for us that @BunkinMama can pin to the top. (I'll know my baby's sex by the end of this month and I'm a late EDD. I sure others are only a week away.)
This signature is all for YOU. I'm on mobile and can't see crap.
One of my coworkers says she can tell I'm having a girl because of how my belly is shaped!!! LOL??? What????!!!
@PhoenixFrances People are complete IDIOTS. It's just laughable what people say to pregnant women.

Because this is the perfect post to put this in.... I told a friend of mine I was pregnant last night. her response was that she thought I was looking pregnant. My response... "Nope. I'm just rockin an 8 week bloat." Now I'm super self concious and pretty sure several co workers know thanks to this "awesome" bloating.
@thiscoffeechick How will you know the sex? Are you doing the M21 or panorama? I'm still on the fence about those - I should probably call today to see how much it would cost me.
If you are referring to the blood tests for sex determination I'd be leary. Just had 2 friends that got bad results. one was told a girl several weeks ago and found out its a boy yesterday (2 seperate u/s the same day to verify) and the other had two seperate blood tests done where one says boy the other says girl.
I'm just still not sure if I want to know if there is a problem at this point. The logical part of my brain does, because it wants to prepare, but after two losses, I just really don't know how I would emotionally handle any more bad pregnancy news.
Yes, I'm doing all the testing myself (note to self: get on the ball with making that appt!) as my dr is sending me to a perinatologist for it so some of my own genetic issues can be checked up on. I'm on the fence about finding out the sex this way though. I've only ever known two people go that route and for both of them to have bad information... I have mixed feelings on it. The one is going through a lot emotionally because she doesn't know for sure which of the blood tests was accurate and already had a reveal party when she got the first results!

@utmissy and @officedronette yes I was referring to the Materniti21 test. I'm baffled that the results for sex came back incorrect. It must have been a different test because screwing up results on a test like This could mean they're literally telling someone their baby will die when their baby is healthy. Who cares about the "gender reveal" party, shouldn't your friends be more worried that the other results were incorrect? P.s. this is one of hundreds of reasons why sex reveal parties are a terrible idea, IMO.

This thread gave me a much-needed laugh. There are REASONS I'm not taking photos of my belly yet. And they have nothing to do with my blueberry-sized cramp-inducing boob-enhancing infant-to-be.
Not every pregnancy is the same, but when mom notices her tummy is bloating within the first 10 weeks and she looks like she is 4 or 5 months, she may wonder if she is having twins or more. Not all early baby tummies mean a multiples pregnancy. There are very physical reasons why a pregnancy will show early one time and not another.
The Tummy Muscles One of the most common reasons why the tummy grows more quickly is a lack of muscle tone in the abdomen. After having one or more babies, the muscle strength does not return to what it was when the first pregnancy occurs. There is also the age factor to take into consideration. The older the expectant mother, the less muscle tone she may have in the abdomen.
Progesterone - The Mother of Bloat If the abdomen muscles are not strong enough, the bloating caused by progesterone will simply look larger than it would in other cases. The stronger the abdominal muscles are, the more apt they are to hold in that pregnancy bloat.
The Power of Timing Many women have no idea that "showing" begins about the 12th or 13th week of pregnancy. At first, it will appear as just a tiny bump, but it will grow over time. If pants are a bit tighter around the 3rd month of pregnancy, mom can rest assured this is normal and she is not alone.
If the mother was overweight in a previous pregnancy and is not overweight with this pregnancy she will notice the changes in the belly much sooner. The pregnancy bump is just something she may not be familiar with as it was hidden during previous pregnancies.
Plain, Old Fashioned Weight Gain When a woman is told she is pregnant there is a bit of release that happens in regards to her diet and exercise regime. It could be because she is a bit scared about continuing exercise in the beginning of the pregnancy or that she feels she needs to eat more to feed baby. This could lead to regular, old fashioned weight gain. The tummy could be growing due to these life changes and not baby at all.
A growing belly is the proudest thing mom notices when she is pregnant. It signals to the world that there is a bundle of joy on the way. When mom starts showing early, the first thought is often multiple pregnancies. With such a small rate of multiples being born compared to singles, the chances of that happening are slim.
