Just got all caught up on the should we stay or should we go conversation---
Personally, I know I struggle to keep up basically all the time, but I really love coming here and talking to you all. And I know I would never be able to keep up in two places (of course, I am making the assumption that I would not be left behind with Kirk).
And honestly, worrying about someone finding my random posts here would have never occurred to me if someone else hadn't mentioned it. And even now that someone has mentioned it- I am still not all that concerned. But maybe I truly believe that there are 0 people in my real life that would go through the effort??
I am a child. I've been up for an hour with what I can only assume are pre-vacation jitters. At this rate christmas will start at 3 am
Did I miss something??? Where are you all headed???
Nothing major, just driving south to see Marvel's Avengers Live in Ft. Lauderdale. And one of my absolute best friends lives down there and we get to hang too!!

Oh speaking of teeth, L has a rash on her face from what I assume is excess saliva from teething and how cold it is. It looks chapped I guess. What can I put on her face?
@mcbush I always used plain vasaline. I need to get back into the habit of putting it on before we go outside.

Aquaphor. I put it on KJ's cheeks and under her nose. Otherwise its so dry from the constant snotty nose she has.
I don't mind staying here but I would support a move to a private board. My wedding month board from the Nest moved to a private board and there are still a lot of us very active on it 7 years later.
@BumpMay I'm having a problem with my avatar and SN. I changed my SN and avatar this morning. My original SN still appears when viewing my account/clicking on my avatar box. My avatar changes to different bump images each time I post. What can I do to fix this?
***Also just noticed that my last post contains my original SN--not what I want.
Please PM me with the details of this and we can get it fixed!
I am considering deactivating my account and then starting a new one to delete all of my stuff. I would mourn my identity though. I've had this account since 2006 through theknot, thenest, and thebump. I'll let you know if I change.
I've been having a crappy couple days at work. I made a mistake that's
resulting in a lot of extra work for the manager of a different
department and I feel so bad about it. He called me out for it (in a
half joking way) in front of everyone at our daily meeting, so more
feeling like crap. I own up to it being 100% my fault, but I jokingly
told his after that he should watch what he says or the job will go back
to my coworker who he doesn't like. He told me that he only bugs me
about it because he knows I can take it and implied he is not actually
mad a me. That actually made me feel a lot better.
I'm trying to get past all the mistakes I've made recently and focus on being more accurate and careful from now on. I need to get out of this funk.
My in-laws watch A one day per week when I'm at work. Overall they are great with him and take wonderful care of him. But here comes the annoying part, every single time I pick him up, I get told about the new thing they taught him that day. It's always something like combing his hair, or the word "rock" or the letter S. The problem is, they are all things that DH and I have actually taught him on the other 6 days out of the week, it's just that the in-laws are seeing it for the first time. I don't know how much to just smile and nod for (because this seems like the nice thing to do) and when to say "oh, he's been doing that for a while." It wasn't bugging me too much, except the past two weeks, she's posted about what they taught him on facebook. It's making me stabby, but it in the long run, it's probably no big deal, right?
@cricket81 I would leave it alone mostly, try not to let it get to you. I don't see any harm in saying "He's been doing that for a couple days now" every once in a while. Otherwise, let them have thier moment, its not doing anyone harm. We also have grandparents who love to "teach" DD things.
E fell asleep in the car for five minutes. And has now been rolling around in his crib for an hour, not sleeping.
Always.
G gets like that too.. it's like if he falls asleep for 2 minutes, it totally disrupts his nap for the day. It boggles my mind, and makes everything a constant effort to make sure he doesn't fall asleep!
I'm in the car right now trying to keep N awake! It's nap time and as soon as we get home she's goin down.
Wow! It's really happening. My hubby said yes to the suburban. Should be in my possession the beginning of Dec!!!! I'm super excited to have my big mommy vehicle, that isn't a van lol.
@musicalsilver and @NurseMommy13 I may have used the word virus too liberally. The doctor noted that DD has been congested so long now that perhaps it's a sinus infection. She said it's difficult to diagnose a sinus infection, other than to note the length symptoms have occurred. So IDK if it's a virus or a bacteria, but this time the doctor went with bacteria.
This was the third sick visit in six weeks and up until now we've given it the benefit of the doubt that it's a virus.
It's not unusual for a viral infection to lead to a secondary bacterial infection. After this length of time, that's probably what happened.
In my experience, a virus would've run its course by now.
A couple years ago I had bronchitis for over a month because it's almost always a viral infection. Once they gave me a z-pack after a month of no improvement, it cleared up. I only wish I had gotten it -before- fracturing a rib from coughing so much, so often.

That said, I am pretty terrified of overuse of antibiotics.
I fell yesterday while holding Nora. She was strapped in to her car seat and I was going to put her in and didn't realize there was a curb. Fortunately, I held on to the car seat and it didn't hit the sidewalk very hard, but since my hands didn't break my fall- I cracked my knee into the curb- so now crawling around after B is not very comfortable. I didn't even realize how bad the bruise was until I was trying to change b this morning!
@Michelin82 - hugs about the job woes. Hope you are able to find some friends there soon!!
@ilovemarfa - that picture is insane!! Stay safe and warm.
Super skimmed the 100 messages I missed while driving. The drive was fine, we made a potty stop and a paci stop (ty dropped it and was screaming until I pulled over and got it). But we are here in one piece. I have girls night at 6:30 and MH has planned on going to chuckie e cheese and then ice cream because he is a fool.
Fwiw regarding safety on tb; my cousin's wife delivered in October and mentioned something about a forum so I stalked the shit out of that board and never found her, and I know how to find people. I finally know who she is, but I legit couldn't find her. When you think of how we post (on so many different things) it's very difficult to zero in on one person, unless your SN is something you use everywhere. The best suggestion I have for your SN is to choose something common. If you google wasnotwas there's a ton of stuff that comes up that is not me, so if you choose like @ladyfootlocker you will be golden
I haven't posted in forever but have been lurking and love-iting and am caught up on the drama and the board's fame! Proud to "know" you ladies
@LimaBeanMOM carter's online for awesome deals on cute girls clothes that wash well! I got a lot of warm sleep and plays for LO2 during one of their recent sales. I'm sure they will have a huge black fri sale.
Now the fun part!! BOWS! https://www.bizzybcrafts.com is amazing!! She started out on Etsy but now also has her own site. She will pretty much make any request you have and has handmade bows, headbands and infinity scarfs for both babies and adults.
@LimaBeanMOM I got an ad from Carter's the other day and they are having a huge black Friday sale so definitely check it out!!!
I got Garth Brooks tickets today for DH's Christmas present! He's been wanting to see him for years. Of course I'll be about 5 months pregnant so I can't drink and it doesn't start until 10:30 at night but I'm really excited!!
So girls night turned out to be a Jamberry party. Thought of y'all the whole time walked away with a ton of samples because there is no way I would ever pay for that

I would be really sad if the group was split up.

Happy birthday, Violet!!
