Good god what is going on this week? The trolls, the drama, JFC. Mods, no one is saying you're not doing your jobs. We all took BJs statement to mean one thing, and clearly you had a different interpretation. That did become clear until you just said so, so hence the disconnect.
I finally went over to the HDBD thread and I'm going to be just blunt. I'm very disappointed in some of our regs for indulging this shit. Nothing would have happened if you would have ignored the couple statements. But you replied and replied and just fueled the fire into an inferno. Then they all invited their buddies to watch and come weigh in. You KNOW that people are throwing out a snide comment here and there and just hoping for you to bite. STOP FUCKING FEEDING THIS SHIT!!! STOP FUCKING FEEDING THE TROLLS. DAMMIT IM SO FUCKING TIRED OF A FEW PEOPLE JUST WALKING RIGHT INTO THIS SHIT AND GIVING THESE NUMNUTS THE SATISFACTION THEY WANT. YOU MAKE IT TOO FUCKING EASY!!!
Sorry for the caps but I'm sooooo tired of seeing this over and over again. It is why everyone (and I mean everyone) on TB and even the damn internet is coming over here to fuck with us. Suck it up and just ignore them. Do that for a week and our trolling problem is gone. Well, who am I kidding it will probably take a month because we now have a FIRMLY ESTABLISHED REPUTATION for being a bunch of rule toting harpies that will fly off the handle for anything. smdh.
And after looking this over I'm probably bundling a bunch of threads into this sentiment, so I guess don't apply it to HDBD alone, just overall all the threads that have gotten out of hand.
They're all looking for ammo against us and this will definitely be fun for them to hear about.
And it's bullshit that if we "stop acknowledging them they'll go away" umm how did they all get here in the first place? Certainly no one was talking with J15 before they decided to get involved with us. O13 wasn't on our radar either. This is all one sided. Fuck not being able to speak up for ourselves and just allowing them to trample all over our board with no consequence.
Um, no as well. Discussing this on the random thread where we are all talking about the BS going on with HDBD and losing a mod over drama is the perfect to place to discuss how those drama threads are getting fed.
My rant (which I acknowledged was a rant) was regarding people responding to trolls/shitstarters/newbs on the threads where they are looking for a response.

Where are you getting this supposed timeline from? I started off by saying this week is nuts because it has been more than any in a while. But at no point did I ever say that all the drama started this week. And at no point have I ever said what you have above in quotes, so not sure where you got that from but not me. I haven't even mentioned J15. So please do not quote something I never said.
I've been here since June and I'm talking about all the crazy. All of it. Not this week, not this month. My point is it is getting worse because we let them get to us. It's so easy to stop.
And asking us to all get on the same accord about ignoring trolls is hardly in-fighting. The last thing the trolls want is for us to present a united cold shoulder, if we could manage to get that together. So no, I'm not giving them what they want. I'm would love to get our board back and it's not going to happen if we just keep doing what we are doing - as is painfully obvious.

All of this!! I was jumping aboard the ignore them and they'll go away mentality, but you are so right and all the reasons you've mentioned are the same reasons I spoke up in HDBD. I think it's important we defend ourselves and each other and I hope in the future no other M15er will go to another board to complain as it obviously stirs shit up. If she had a problem with it she should have said so here, instead she responded like everything was cool and she understood, then went and brought it up on another board. I've already said it but it bares repeating; it was a shitty thing to do and not cool

And again, you are quoting something I did not say, and misinterpreted me saying this week was crazy as some kind of timeline ??? For the 2nd time, I never said this: "oh there was no crazy here until people reacted to it and went over to J15 after J15 came over here to be crazy".
I'm fine with you disagreeing with me but let's keep it based on things I actually said.
They perked their ears up to our board when we got thread after thread of crazy shit from people in our OWN month. Then they were like "wow M15 is so militant about posting the sex in the sticky thread and wow that must mean they're militant about everything else too wow they suck as a board let's go fuck with them" and we're supposed to just be like lalalala we can't hear you even when they come fuck with arguably the most fun thread of the week?
They're going to keep coming as long as we keep enforcing the way the community has been since the beginning. So unless we decide to stop correcting sex vs gender, take down the sex sticky thread, stop directing people to other discussions or sticky threads, stop saying no to naked belly pics in HDBD, they'll keep coming as they please. Because our BORING "rules" are what brings them here. And yeah they stay for a few hours because we talk back. But as with any argument, it dies down eventually and they all go home.

Does anyone else feel not that attached to their LO yet? I'm PGAL, but I don't think it's worry so much as I just haven't had much "interaction" yet. I feel confident that everything is going well in there, but I dunno. The last time I saw the LO was at 7 weeks when he/she was still just a peanut. I'm sure my A/S on Friday will help. No movement yet either. I constantly think about my pregnancy. Maybe once we have a name, and see him or her again looking much more like a person now, it will just happen naturally.
If this has been you too, what is something you did to make that bond feel closer? Please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't like my LO or anything, just not much connection yet and I am eager to have one.
I felt that way with my 2nd. But I think I had more of a connection when I thought. I do think it helps to talk about them, and make plans.

I'm sorry your board is having such a crisis, but this is a 3rd party's perspective on the disconnect between how your board handles things vs others on TB. Perhaps it was just poor timing, in light of what else has happened here, I can't say one way or the other.
Does anyone ever really ask for input? Not so much. Does everyone get to say their piece anyway? Yes. So...calm yo tits.

@beatlesgal4 I think your a/s will help tremendously. I am pgal also and I felt a connection after our NT scan. We saw the little one moving around and it's little face, It was the best feeling and I know the a/s will be even better!
@mommyofkaylin I totally understand where you're coming from. I feel every emotion I have is completely exaggerated. It helps when I eat a lot and snack and stay hydrated, but still I'm about to rip SO'd head off every other minute most days.

We went down to Phil's BBQ today and I ate way too much. SO said the little Bebe is swimming around in bbq sauce now. Laying in bed with my snuggling dog and cat. Also trying to put together my destination maternity order, taking advantages of the sales!

@etoille I'll respond to your last reply to me and then I'm out - it's daycare pickup time! My only issue was with you paraphrasing based on what you read into my words, which was not close to what I said. Fine if there is a misunderstanding that happens but don't insist on telling me what I meant after I've explained that wasn't it.
Regarding my outlook, I'm not about puppies and rainbows and being nice to people. Ignoring people is not being nice to them or putting your head in the sand. It's about choosing to not give them what they want. It's definitely not as fun, for sure. And I've never said I have always done that. I've been in the defend category prior to this. I'm advocating ignoring now as a means to reduce the troll problem. Yes it will never totally go away, but we can get it to not be a damn free-for-all. The last thing they want is crickets chirping in response to their pokes. There has never been a strategy of ignoring people for months prior to today - the whole reason we're a freakshow is because anyone who has broken a rule or done a driveby or otherwise been a dumbass has immediately been ripped a new one. We have been "together" in fiercely responding to these types and that is what has us where we are today.
For example on HDBD, ignoring the chick who said the rule was dumb would have just made it non-factor. The thread wouldn't have devolved into what it did. That's what I'm frustrated about, and what my vent was about, NOT about defending ourselves once a full swing attack is underway. I will say I didn't make that clear, so anyone can fault me for that. My intent was to say hey can we be mindful and recognize when people are just trying to be a jerk and not fall into it. Of course it didn't come out that way because I was so tired of this crap!! What seems to be a commonality to me is that there's this tipping point early on where you could leave it alone and it will be nothing, or feed into and it will become a shitstorm. That's where I feel we can shut it down. But once it's past that tipping point and its a shitstorm then of course we need to jump in, I get that. The only reason I vented is because I'm frustrated with all this, we have a great board here.
Calling me a hypocrite and beating a horse to death is your opinion but doesn't change my mind or anything I have to say either. Nor do I have a problem with you disagreeing with me. We'll just have to disagree to disagree. I'm not into game theory so can't answer your question to what you are probably looking for. I'd just like this board to not be the easy entertainment for the bump. I've stated my thoughts that the way to do that is not give them what they want, as much as we can - when situations escalate it will be unavoidable, but most of the time it can be easily diffused by not taking the bait.
