At 17 weeks, it seems I'm over most of my aversions to food smells, but now non-edible things are turning my stomach. In particular, my fabric softener and Burt's Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm. And my husband's shampoo. Anyone else experiencing this?
**stuck in a box**
Oh yeah, DH's body wash, combined with the heat and humidity from the shower, make me nauseous every morning. The bathroom door must be closed during his shower, and after he leaves the bathroom. It's never bothered me before but yuck I hate it now.
Thanks @lizzybean & @maddscientist! I'm not a whiner...it's cool that we have to wait til Monday. DH luckily has off that day. But the nonchalant "oh well" attitude of the office annoyed me.

My deodorant makes me gag every morning. Its excruciating.
So I have to go to my sisters BFF's bridal shower tomorrow. My sister is her MOH. The bride ended up planning her own shower with my sister because she fired half her bridal party at the bachelorette party 2 weeks ago. This is gonna be a shit show. I'm getting my popcorn ready to bring while watching the show.
Happy birthday Izzy!
Cat I have done that with wet clothes too many times even not pregnant!
As for me, I'm tired but it's Friday at the end of a looooong week, Ravens kicked the Steelers' ass, and I have some nice plans with friends and family this weekend. Oh and it's pay day!
So, how do you feel about the Ravens/Steelers game? LOL, couldn't tell from your post. We are dyed in the wool Steelers fans in this apt!
Huh. I just tried to re-schedule my A/S for before we travel, when I will be 19 weeks, and she said they absolutely don't do the A/S until at least 20 weeks. Bummer! I wanted to see little sister (as she is now known around our house lol) one more time before our trip!
@schnitz9 that sounds exciting! Weddings bring out the crazy in people...always entertaining!
She's basically like another little sister to me. I told her not to do it. I said she would regret it. My sister and her were in a big fight around my wedding and her and her fiance ended up not being invited. I asked her "how do you feel when we talk about my wedding and you weren't there". She said its super awkward. So i told her it will be even worse if you become friends with these girls again and you can't talk about your wedding with them because they weren't there. By far the funniest part is my sister called me this week to tell me that she asked someone new to be in the wedding. A replacement bridesmaid? Who does that? That's like "hi, I didn't ask you a year ago, but now that I fired people, wanna be in my wedding?" Weird.
This morning a group of my IB (International Baccalaureate) kids came in and brought me a dozen donuts. I was like, "WHY are you bringing me this?" and they said, "Well, you're pregnant and we know you like them, but we didn't know what kind. So here!"
It was super sweet.
And now I have donuts
Aww so sweet! And bonus! Now you have enough to share with everyone here... get on it!
So, yesterday, they misplaced my file while I was at my OB and no one came to get me to prick my finger after my one hour for the glucose thing. Being a FTM, I didn't know I should go look for someone. DH and I got to talking after our A/S and before I knew it, it had been 30 mins since the timer had gone off. So I did go find someone, they tested me and it came out at 138. Still ok, but they wanted to re-test. SO, I drank that drink again at 6:15 this AM so I could get there at 7:15 to have my finger pricked and still get to work by 7:30. Everything went great, my number today was 86, so I'm very happy about that. BUT drinking that thing on a very empty stomach made me so nauseous. Thank you carbs for helping me out this AM!
Aren't we early for the GD test? Doesn't that usually happen closer to 24-26 weeks? Someone know the answer so I don't have to google.
@afp9211 LMAO well apparently in two years that place still hasn't gotten it's shit together... *shakes head* for real, the most unprofessional mfm deptartment in the country. Hopefully this is the only time you gotta deal with them. On the plus side, my a/s is on monday too! Lol just on the other end of 352.

That is so cool! you've got some great students. What exactly do you teach in International Baccalaureate? Sounds like an interesting class.
Ok, I need y'alls help: I have a wedding to go to in NYC when I will be 20 wks. and 1 wedding to go to in Orlando when I will be 24 wks.
Questions:
1. Is it at all possible that I can find a suitable dress that will fit my (expected?) bump at BOTH 20 and 24wks?
the wedding in NYC is more just a reception for a planned elopement - and will be more fashionable/hipster/casual than the formal one in Orlando
2. Can you think of (and direct me to) a dress that will work for both the colder, more hipster/casual NYC wedding and the warmer, more formal Orlando wedding while also fitting a body that I have no idea what will look like??
or am I doomed to have to buy 2 maternity wedding dresses that I will literally never wear again.
I haven't had any crazy cravings since getting pregnant and I wouldn't call it a craving, but I can't NOT eat donuts when they are around and for the taking. And people in the office know about my new found donut love and are sure to tell me of when a half full box appears somewhere. They are so kind.
Okay so TMI but pregnancy farts are the worst! I am scared someone is going to die if they come in my office after one of these bombs goes off so I don't have air freshener but I'm improvising with hand sanitizer on my hands (nt rubbed in) shaking around my office... That will work right??
On another highly immature note I am so annoyed that I changed my fb profile pic to me holding my u/a from several weeks ago and not even 10 MIN LATER... Another girl I know did the same thing!!! And no she didn't have her u/s today or I would understand but I can't stand copy cats especially when it's obvious.. She liked my pic and bam changed her profile pic to match... I know this is probably oober childish on my part but it still Bothers me lol

Weird. Mine is scheduled for the day I turn 19 wks.
It sucks you don't get to see the littlest one again before you go!
Right! A bunch of gals have talked about having them at 18 weeks so I didn't think it would be a big deal! Oooooh well
Also, for those Broadway lovers. for the wedding in NYC, I am also going to have time to go to a Broadway show. I am very very excited about this. I usually get season tickets to the broadway shows where I live - but have never actually seen one ON Broadway.
Anyway, I need help deciding which show to see. So, if anyone has seen any shows on broadway or heard of any that are awesome tell me! I am currently considering Cabaret, Hedwig (if neil patrick harris is still in it) I would love Les Mis but H hates it ( ), and Kinky boots (only because it won all the tonys last year, I know nothing about it).
Basically F15, help me direct my life this morning - dress me and determine my entertainment

If you don't mind waiting in line. Got to TKTS in the morning. Not sure if you're familar with it buts it in the middle of time square. You can get excess tix for that day at like half the price. My parents just saw kinky boots and they said it was amazing.
@foxslaw and @lizzybean Thanks ladies...I'm upset for my daughter too, but I'm so grateful that DH has accepted her as his own...she calls him dad, he calls her daughter and he'd lay down his life for that little girl and that's all I could ask. He's been there through it all with her and that's what matters the most, is that she knows she's loved.
New random...
One of the students in a 5th grade classroom in collaborate with brought me a fortune cookie today after finding out I was pregnant with twins yesterday. And she said "I hope it says something good." Well, here's my fortune..."An empty stomach is not a good political advisor." So I ate it, and now I'm happy...

The reveal thread obviously triggered my anti-crazy parents feelings, so it reminded me of this random: my mom called my MIL to tell her about the shower my sister's planning. My MIL's first question: Is her husband invited to the shower?
Argh. No, he is not invited. My husband wants nothing to do with a shower, so no on the co-ed.
That was her first question when I invited her to go dress shopping, too.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

I suggested this to H - but, I would be flying in that day and I'm not sure how much extra time we would have to stand in line, and he is very concerned about they shows we want to see being sold out by the time we would be able to get tix, so this is probably out as an option.
I just got my second tri "Triple Screening" test results back... Everything is negative!! So happy and cant wait to see Dolce next week at A/S 2.0.
In other news... Im not a fan of the "all things pumpkin flavored" during the fall. But a must have for me are the pumpkin muffin tops from Panera bread. Sweet Baby Jesus, those things are so good. Im such a happy lady right now.

Waiting at the doc for my a/s. Last pregnancy it seemed all I could think about was finding out the sex. This time I know the sex, and I'm so much more anxious about making sure everything is OK. I also have a laundry list of things to talk to the doctor about.
I'm too nice...or as DH calls me...altruistic. We had Chipotle for dinner last night for the sole purpose of us BOTH having leftovers for lunch today. DH ate his leftovers when he couldn't sleep last night...so being the good wife I am, I let him take mine because I have time to stop at the store in the morning and he doesn't. So I'm stuck with a chef salad...and I'm mad about it.
I WILL use his debit card to buy me a new Chipotle bowl after work today to make up for it.

I always find it really unappetising to eat the fruit or veg that my ticker says baby is the size of, at that week. Luckily this week he's an onion, which is the one thing I hate with an absolute passion. The week of the peach my DH had just come home with a bag bag of gloriously juicy peaches... he was very confused when i couldn't eat them... I just really... I couldn't do it!!! Anyone else have this strange little thing? :-P
Don't experience this, but my husband jokes around about her size comparisons. When she was an olive, my husband said he could put her into his martini glass. Lime, off she goes into some beer. When she was an avocado, he said we could put her into our pico de gallo. This week, he's all about sweet potato fries.
I write to her at least once a week just for fun. I promise her each time that I won't let her dad eat her when she's finally here.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

@MaddScientist I ditto the black dress. I have a simple black maternity dress that I for see wearing to a couple weddings and a funeral. I'll change it up with sweaters or jewelry.
and now that we've discussed donuts, I must go get some before my haircut. Have I mentioned I'm excited for my haircut?
Damn people. I had too much work this morning and have nothing interesting to add except I'm SO upset we didn't get to Broadway to see NPH in Hedwig. Love him and that show so much.
Booooooo, baby was breech. I know there is still 20 weeks and lots of room, but DD stated breech the entire time and dropped super early causing PTL. It just gives me a very pessimistic outlook on a successful vbac. I also have to come back for the rest of her measurements because her spine was blockingthe view.
I had a dream I was on The Biggest Loser. I did the first week of excruciating exercise, and lost 17lbs.... Then remembered I should tell them I'm pregnant (I'm not 'out' yet). Everyone was really upset with me.
Guys, I just jettisoned a 4-inch centipede out of my kitchen without either sobbing or screaming hysterically. There will be no picture of what it looked like because I like you all.
So good news I got some bloodwork, ultrasounds, and scanning done. My thyroid is still off and over active, but after weeks of bedrest and testing we have ruled out cancer. My levels were so bad that honestly we were expecting the worst. *weight off my shoulders* I can't even explain how relieved my husband and I were. We celebrated at Krispy Kreme
