Last night Ty woke up and started throwing a tantrum. For like an hour or so. I started looking up signs of autism and he scored a 7, medium risk, on the autism speaks questionnaire. Our 15 month appointment is in a couple weeks and I am really anxious to talk to the pedi about it
@WasNotWas I have quite a bit of experience with autism (between family, friends, and teaching) and this age would be really really young to be concerned about it. Unless Ty wasn't interacting with people AT ALL, i really don't think it should be something you are worrying about now.
Thanks stargazer. As with everything that gets mysteriously wrong with the kids I think I'm just looking for an answer, a reason I can't fix what's wrong. I might be a bit of a control freak
Shooooot @WorkinIt and @stargazer763 this week is going to be hell...H leaves Tuesday and comes back Wednesday night and I leave Thursday morning and come back Friday mid-morning.

Dude, you're preaching to the choir here.

Yeah @smpeachey I can't decide if he's just independent or has early signs. But I'm not going to worry about it, I'm going to enjoy him because he is perfect, and I will continue to provide a safe space for him to grow and develop
Ds1 started school this week (first time away from me) and this evening he said he has a sore throat. This is his first sore throat. My husband said it doesn't look red and is probably a virus but I feel like he should get a strep test done. Those with older kids- do you bring your kids in when they complain of sore throats or do you just wait it out? He doesn't have a fever but he does seem more tired than usual and very cranky.
@wasnotwas I didn't look at the online evaluation tool, but Autism is tricky and a lot of completely normal toddler behaviors are also typical autism signs. That said, I flip out a little every time I notice Benjamin doing something that my brother would do, like lining up stuff, etc. Deep down, I know that Benjamin is not as rigid and is developing normally where my brother wasn't. I'm all for early intervention, though. It did wonders for my brother. He started speech and pre-pre-k at 3 and by the time he got to first grade he was doing SO much better with managing his emotions and frustration! He's a senior in HS and still has the occasional meltdown, but it's so much better than it was.
I called the pedi, they just said it's a bug and to give her Tylenol. I'm scared to leave I don't want her to puke in the car. DH should be home soon, then we can come up with a plan.
@WorkinIt roast the cauliflower first and then it will mash like butter. You can use a blender or food processor to get it nice and smooth. Add heavy cream and cheese if you really want YH to like it

I can't believe there is a trailer and it stars Ben Afleck and it comes out in a few weeks! Now I need to reread it.
