Bad night for Lo sleeping and then both kids up by 5:30. Oy. I actually wish I was going to the office today so I could rest while pumping. No breaks for mama today with a baby, 3 and 4 year old. Allllll the coffeee please!
Seriously?! FIL drew in my washer/dryer. I know they're old and to be replaced but don't draw on my stuff dood :-q This is going to be a LONG 6+m! He doesn't even play with Azeem. And I still can't walk away from him because FIL doesn't even watch him.
Who the F does that? This is the most ridiculous $hit I've seen! </ @EmAzeem your FIL is from Lebanon, right? Maybe he marked it so he can remember where it needs to start a cycle?
@WorkinIt, I could have written that. I am so over BF but I feel like I don't have a say in the matter. My supply has dropped but LO has a very picky palate he won't take frozen BM unless its less that 1 month old I have a ton but it will be wasted. He also will not take formula. I feel like the only way to wean him would be to do it abruptly and that seems so stressful for him. I don't think it would make sense if he could nurse sometimes but sometimes could not since I SAH with him. I also feel guilty because BF comes so easy to us and most of my reasons for wanting to stop are selfish. This is such a difficult decision.
If you all could spare some thoughts and prayers for my friend with breast cancer. She just asked me to come over and give her a hand today, she isn't doing well. Life really isn't fair sometimes, this mom is truly amazing and strong and has two beautiful girls.
I married a stud. I was watching him get ready to walk out the door all dressed up and he just looked sexy. I still get giddy and smile like an idiot over him even after almost 11 years.
@subliminalrabbit If it makes you feel better, when I started weaning I realized just how robust my supply was. It was funny because for so long you stress about losing your supply and then when I started weaning it wouldn't go away! I'm certain that I could have stalled at nursing 2x a day and I would have kept my supply enough to do that for a long time. Our LOs are old enough that for the most part our bodies will adjust and keep going. Also, it has always seemed like you have a gREAT supply, so I totally think you'd be fine to pump wean!
So I went to the doctor yesterday to get my ribs checked out and apparently I pulled the cartilage between my ribs. That means Tylenol and pain for a little bit. At least it's not fractured! And Grayson has another nasty cold
I did 100 burpees on Tuesday because I haven't had a good window to workout or run this week. I can barely walk now. Guess those are a good workout! Also @Steamboat1679 DH does the same with dishes and it kills me. I've sometimes let just his pile up and do the boys and mine and he does them. It kills me to leave them but it makes a point.
So I have to share this with you guys because I don't know if it may help some of you who are still nursing to sleep or having trouble getting LO to sleep without you or are against sleep training. Sorry, I'm notoriously long-winded but it requires a little back story...
We sleep trained two months ago, and since then E has been sleeping great at night, HOWEVER, she would still scream bloody murder when I walked out of the room every night, whine and fuss for a few minutes, and pass out. She usually never cried for more than 5-10 minutes, but it still broke my heart and sometimes I would have to walk outside and leave the monitor with DH because I just hated listening to it even for a short time. I have a fan in her room for white noise and had worn a lovey in my bra and put that in her crib to help her soothe. Okay so fast forward to a week ago. I was doing the usual bedtime routine with her and I always nurse her a little before laying her in her crib. Well she started wailing as soon as her head hit the mattress (she usually wouldn't start until I walked out). I shush-patted, sang to her, stroked her hair/tummy, and she wouldn't settle for some reason so I had this random idea. I had been running that evening right before putting her to bed and still had on my t-shirt that I had been wearing. I took it off, tied it in a knot, and placed it next to her face. INSTANT QUIET AND SMILING. No joke. She nuzzled up to my stinky t-shirt (I know, gross), and closed her eyes. I turned and walked away, and SHE DIDN'T MAKE A SOUND. This has never happened and I was blown away at the amount of heartache I could've avoided if I had thought of this sooner. I had heard to put my scent in the crib, but it never occurred to me that my scent was probably not strong enough and using fresh workout clothes with my BO that wasn't masked from lotions/soaps/perfumes would work best. Since I have been putting my shirt in her crib, she has not even let out so much as a whimper when I leave her in the crib. Sorry if this grosses anyone out, but you do what works, and if you're nursing then your LO is right next to your armpit and probably associates your body odor with comfort. EUREKA!
TL;DR: put your sweaty workout shirt in LO's crib and it will help them sleep.
Jameson is 9 months old today weighing in at 18lbs 6oz and standing at 28.75" tall. Only had to get one shot thankfully, but he has to see a urologist and a pediatric dentist before he turns one. Will say I'm thankful we caught the issues sooner rather than later though and here is the happy boy!
@Steamboat1679 mine is "tomorrow morning before work." Because, you know, he totally wakes up early to help out around the house and is a great morning person. (Need sarcasm font). Plus he uses like the largest possible plate or utensil for his post dinner snacks which drives me nuts because of how much more sink and dishwasher space it uses. Like he used a full dinner plate for half a brownie last night.
@sctiger, my LO will be 10 months next week as well. I have been gently trying to wean and he wants no part of it. I end up feeling guilty and giving in he's got me wrapped around his finger.
J likes to "help" me empty the dishwasher. Well, apparently the pod didn't dissolve all the way (which I didn't notice) and I looked over and she had it in her mouth. I had to call poison control. Luckily I think she barely got any in her mouth but I still felt like a horrible mommy
@kelly422 such a scary thing, but def not a mommy fail, you did everything right. Littles will find the darndest things to put in their mouths! I had to call them once when my DD was 8 months old because she got a pill bottle out of my moms purse. Hope Js tummy feels alright though
@kelly422 I hope she is OK! We let B help unload the dishwasher too, but we've been using regular liquid detergent. I've heard a lot of stories of kids (older than our LO's) mistaking those pods for candy so I'm already freaked out about that.
@libberluru No way!! Amazing! How old is he? I'm worried B is going to be an early walker, but I was hoping I still had a month or two before that happened.
@kelly422 that is scary. A reminder to everyone to keep all pill bottles out of reach. My neighbour just told me she found her 4 year old with an open bottle of Advil. She thought it was a fluke so gave him a closed bottle to see what would happen (supervised). He had no problem opening up the "kid-proof" lid. Scary!
@cl8badb I'm gonna piggyback off of you and tell y'all what my pedi said about WCM.
The reason they say to wait is because now until about one they are getting their nutrients from formula/breast milk. Around one they start the shift to getting their nutrients from the food they eat. So, basically whenever that happens (at 11, 11.5, 13 months...) is when you can make the switch. It's mostly a quantity issue because they shouldn't be drinking as much WCM as formula/breast milk because it blocks their absorption of iron in large quantities. That's also why they test for anemia at 12 months.
So, those of you with toddlers who drink a ton of milk (raises hand) how much is too much? She said that the guideline is under 30, 24 oz is what is recommended, up to 30.
Im counting down my breastfeeding days too. J will be 11 months on the 9th. Im going to begin the switch over to cows milk and i honesty cant wait.
I want ALL THE DAIRY. ALL THE CHEESE! Nomnomnom.
I was only planning to breastfeed for 3 months, 6 months tops! so 11/11.5 months is a big deal!
I will figure out how to send you some good Wisconsin cheese for your dairy eating party!
@HoneyB1993, 105 is really high I would be taking her in ASAP with anything close to 104. Screw what the ped said your the mom do what you feel is right.
@HoneyB1993 I don't remember where you live, but if you are in the eastern time zone, I would call pedi again to see if she needs to be checked out before they close. That high of a fever plus not drinking as much as normal seems scary to this ftm.
Re: Spamalamadingdong 3/24
J13 looks so much dirtier than it really is tonight!

Allllll the coffeee please!

Now I just need to start working out...
But love the advice! I'll try anything!

Did anyone else hear anything different?
