So I'm still super motivated and just did some weight circuits at the gym...ran into my old trainer and my super (bitchy) competitive neighbor, who looks fabulous btw. I told her she looked great, she looked me up and down and (after, legit like 7 seconds) said "so do you"...I said "I don't, but thank you, I will soon though!"
@weddinginthecove When people talk about their legs being cramped I point out that the seat is designed for x inches and that I've seen lots of tall 3 or 4 year olds rear facing (they don't need to know I'm talking about pictures online).
@Heartlikemine3 I'm going to play devil's advocate. I would not say "so unsafe". I'm assuming the car seat is rated for a child of that size to be forward facing, then it is not "so unsafe" it just isn't the most ideal option. If it were so unsafe the car seats would not give forward facing as an option for that weight/size.

Sadly, no, it IS so unsafe but laws take a lot of time to be enacted and car seat safety isn't anyone's priority when you're talking wars, national debt, unemployment, infrastructure...the list goes on and on. The science tells us that the spine of a child under four is so underdeveloped that rear facing them is 500+% safer.
Also, as much as I'd like to say rear facing to two is the law, it isn't the law in any state. States are either 1 AND 20 pounds or proper use, which is helpful when a seat has a higher forward facing minimum that the norm (i.e. Dorel also requires a minimum of 34" for a child to forward face in any of their seats)
@elmoali thank you for putting me in my place, I'm going to do some more research on the subject. It's hard to believe standards are so far behind.
Eep - I hope you didn't take it as me "putting you in your place." I don't want to be that person but I did want to share the stats with you so that you could read up on it
This day is dragging on and on and ..... Well you get it. 530ish can't get here quick enough! My hubby will be home and doesn't have to be to work until Monday!!! I see lots of boozing and drunk sex in our future
Anybody take their LO to the gym and let them stay in the childcare area while you workout? I really need to get my ass in shape and there is a Gold's gym close by. I SAH and think it would be a great way for me to get a little break and let Grayson get used to a little social interaction. I'm just so nervous he's never stayed with anyone but my mom. I guess I just picture gyms being a breeding ground for germs/bacteria. I'm going to go check it out today and see how it looks.
Oh my gosh, it is so weird that you just posted this. We joined the Y a month ago and it finally timed out perfectly today for me to get there before 2:00 (child watch closes from 2-4). It was AWESOME. She didn't cry when I set her down, the ladies were really sweet, and I went upstairs and got 2 miles in on the treadmill. I was just thinking I could keep going and try for three miles when my phone rang...she'd been crying for about 10-15 minutes. They have a 10 minute cry rule where they call you if your kid is upset for that long. I guess she'll get used to it the more we go. I think it was just tough being her first time alone with strangers. I definitely recommend it.

I hope that came across as putting me in my place with love because that's what I meant. I couldn't think of a better phrase. I didn't mean it in a derogatory way.

Phew! I use that phrase to tell someone they were treating me like an asshole lol
It does seem to me like maybe we are a bit behind on the whole carseat thing up here?
I know the inlaws will have something to say about it. I will be an overprotective mom who is 'babying' him because I will keep him rear facing as long as conceivably possible, insist he wears a lifejacket on a boat (this was a HUGE issue on our vacation) and breastfeed past one.
My bff recently got out of a relationship and has been dating a bit. I am a little jealous and probably harass her for details too much. I love my life, but sometimes I miss the excitement of a new relationship. Like yesterday she talked on the phone for 2 hours with a guy!
Haha!! I would totally take him from you for a bit if I didn't have this sickness!! Maybe they will be like dogs? William can teach Malcolm to eat (because we're regressing in this department if that is a thing?) and Malcolm can teach William to sleep!! Although we aren't STTN here anymore.
@TheTamedShrew, hope she does better next time it will be so nice for us SAH moms to get a little break from the LO's during the day. We went at 1 to check it out and the childcare place was closed till 4pm. So we will go try it out in the morning.
Thanks for asking about the gym @HeartLikeMine3 ...I thought about going a few months ago but never did. My stomach is now outgrowing my boobs again and I'm scared. I'm either getting fatter or pregnant and I don't want to be either one!
@PinkPuffyHeart2, getting out will be great for you and LO. I think now is a good age for them to get a little social interaction and you will feel better. Do it!

Yeah, well, not to be insensitive to her newly adopted seperation anxiety, but all I can say to her is "deal with it, honey. It's 30 minutes, you'll live." I never felt so FREE! I was on a treadmill, but in my head I was running on cloud nine.
Two more hours till Joseph goes to bed but 5 minutes feels like an eternity to me! I feel selfish for wanting him to go to sleep but I seriously need a moment to myself.
Well we had our first PT session today! The PT was really nice and gentle with LO. She showed us some things we should work on this week to help dd make transitions. She said she thinks that dd will get it all at once and she is already starting to do some things that will help with the transitions. (Like bending the right knee if she is on her belly, trying to turn or reach to the right). She also said her low muscle tone in her legs was a low normal but not below normal which was awesome to hear. She doesn't think it will be noticeable as she gets older and more active. I'm relieved that it went well and that we have some ideas now of ways we can help her get mobile. I might need to retract that last part in a few months when she is getting into everything.
At dinner tonight DD was picking up every last crumb on her tray and then picked up a piece of chicken from her bib. DH point out that she was trying to pick up another piece of something from her bib. I look at her and say "is that from this meal?". Oh well, she ate whatever it was.
Squeeeee! I just got this email so I'm pretty excited! I knew I was supposed to be in but this is the first thing to make it official! Injury be damned, I'm running this sucker!

Just dropping in to say hi on one of our internet breaks! Vacation is awesome but I'm excited to see N in a couple of days!!!
MIL asked if she could get some photos done while N stayed with them and we said sure (who am I to turn down a free photo shoot?? Although I did know the outfits wouldn't be my main choice, they weren't as bad and frou frou as I was afraid!) Anyways, here are the teasers. I've been staring at them over and over whenever I miss her! And when did she get so old???
Thanks guys! I just told hubby perhaps we should have looked into baby modeling... Or maybe I'm just a bit biased
@libberluru Much better! Emptier each day, although still sore. No more knots or plugs though. And I had planned to get a nice massage but decided that laying on them for that long would be too painful. Hubby agreed to let me postpone the massage til my actual bday or Mothers Day.
Also, I think I've taken this weaning diet and my ability to day drink and eat saturated fat too far. My diet today has been: (in order of consumption) 3 donuts, one strong mojito, 1/3 tin of potato chips, 1 cosmic brownie, 2 Oreos, one beer, half a bag of cheeto puffs, a bottle of water, another cosmic brownie, more water, a granola bar (you know, to be healthy), and half a pepperoni pizza. Living it up, guise.
Hubby made it home 2 hours later than expected and was told he has to work tom (even though he was told before he would have it off), but that didn't stop us from enjoying a bottle of wine together and a good romp in the sheets . We will be repeating this all weekend hopefully.
Seriously?! FIL drew in my washer/dryer. I know they're old and to be replaced but don't draw on my stuff dood :-q This is going to be a LONG 6+m! He doesn't even play with Azeem. And I still can't walk away from him because FIL doesn't even watch him.
Who the F does that? This is the most ridiculous $hit I've seen!
