So um, the ice bucket challenge is a bunch of folks AWing that they would rather dump ice on their head than donate to charity? Or... Am I missing the actual altruism here?
@JessieAlbin I swear, sometimes it's like we have the same brain. Was totally gonna post something to that effect on IG because my feed is suddenly full of that crap. Slactivism at it's most vapid.

I can't think of a single person on my social media feeds who hasn't donated as well as dumped ice. The videos keep the chain going; a silent donation would would be a lot more altruistic, but wouldn't have the same wildfire affect. Yes, the whole thing is very "look at me! look at me!" but can you really argue with an extra $14M+ in donations ($1.8M last year vs $15.6M)?!
Even if it's obnoxious to be bombarded with the campaign, it works! And it's raised a crapton of money for a worthy cause...and hopefully, a lot of awareness, too (I bet tons of the high school set who have enthusiastically participated in the challenge didn't even know what ALS was until this "viral sensation.").
@mamrotu73 we have the opposite problem in our house. DD is now rolling onto her back from her belly in the middle of the night and then she cries. I have yet to actually see her roll this way and she's done it 4 times. :-/

He really prefers his side. I watched him roll back and forth yesterday after he rolled forward so I know he can. Plus he has done it during tummy time before. I just want him to either roll to his back or find a way to not hate his tummy. I just don't want to have to roll him myself at 3am or have it keep ending his naps early.
Right? Seriously kids, 4 months is old enough to sleep the way you know you're comfy...we aren't asking too much here, are we? Haha
Decided I would take the stairs yesterday when I left work. My legs are sore this morning... maybe I should do this every day - 17 stories of stairs should count for some workout, no? I'm thinking I may even get adventurous and take them when I'm coming in the building at some point, although I might die if I did that now.

I'm not understanding this second round of the ice water challenge... Probably about 6-8 weeks ago it was a huge thing among my FB friends (particularly my ILs), and they were all doing it in lieu of donating and also saying you could donate to the charity of your choice, not for ALS funding. My husband was challenged 2 or 3 times, refused to participate and said he was going to donate $100 to a charity that helps provide drinkable water in a third world country once we had the money. Now all of a sudden it's a big thing again but for ALS funding. Anyway, I say all this to say out of probably 12 challenges I've seen, only one has actually donated the money. The rest have "gotten out of it" by pouring cold water on themselves.

^^^ no clue about that. The ALS campaign is the first I've seen. Again, it may be obnoxious, but as far as ALS donations are concerned, it's been WILDLY successful. You (General You) can't really argue with the numbers!
ETA: I'm not a huge fan of the water-wasting aspect.
Went to a Mary Kay party last night for some much needed adult interaction that did revolve around DD's crapy sleep habits. It was a whole family party so everyone went. I was so worried dd would meltdown but she did great! Smiled and talked the entire time!
Then we got home and she decided to wake up every two hours to punish us for keeping her up late. I'm never going to be able to do anything outside of my house again
Oh my goodness my back hurts so freaking bad! I don't have time to be hurt.
Nooo, what happened? Back pain is the worst.
Nothing, I woke up with it. I once ruptured a disc while sleeping, it doesn't take much for me to hurt myself. I really hope it's nothing serious because I have a ton of traveling to do in the next month!
DS slept 8-4, ate, put himself back to sleep, and slept until 7:15. This is great considering we've been dealing with the sleep regression for 5 weeks!
@AcaAwkward Good points, all, especially on the awareness side. But my friends haven't donated. It's an either/or for them, not a both.
That's lame! Tell them they owe $5 for every "like" they got!
That's exactly what a friend is doing - for every "like" she gets, she's donating an additional dollar on top of what she's already donated - up to $95 more dollars so far :-)
So last night (I didn't check the time) somewhere in the wee hours of the morning, baby girl woke up. Usually I'm pretty alert when she wakes up and hear her before she's fully awake. Last night though, I must've been sleeping super deeply.
I remember feeling around on her, squeezing her tummy, and then her bringing my hand to her mouth to suck on my finger. It wasn't until that moment that I fully awakened and realized she woke up because her paci fell out. Before that moment though, I was having thoughts like, "Oh! She must sleep through the night because of the BBQ fairies. She must think my finger is a piece of brisket." What. The. Heck. 8-}

@MrsStanton87 We did the crib transition for exactly the same reason...can't get worse. The good news is that it hasn't gotten worse and last night wasn't half bad.

The zoo was fun, Sullivan could have taken or left it but we got good pictures (of him, and photo evidence that mom is a whale and needs her hair done). He took a great nap there and I fed giraffes while he slept with his giraffe wubanub. Cool and scary and gross. Their heads are huge!
Thanks, guys. This crappy sleeping can't last forever, right? RIGHT?!
I can't remember the day of my BFP. We were actively trying and it didn't take us very long so there wasn't much of a surprise factor. I actually POAS this weekend because I woke up two nights in a row with the worst heartburn I'd had since I was pregnant. Only one line, thank god. #:-S
In happy news, I got an offer from the job interview I had a few weeks ago!! I'm still waiting for the pay/benefits details, but I'm so excited! A14 job juju is the BEST!
Hopefully our sleep juju is just as powerful! Congrats!!
Not sure, but @Andrewsgal / dandelionhater was having the same problem. Also, welcome back, and glad you've been able to enjoy your vacation and that your husband has stepped up his game. I'm one of the creepers who sent you a friend request, but it's not like we're BFFs, so no hard feelings for not accepting.

I started transitioning E to the pnp to sleep instead of the rnp, and it was going okay, but then she got a super stuffy nose last night and poor thing can't breathe and is coughing/choking on mucous, so I moved her back to the rnp hoping the incline will help. I'm just trying to get her used to sleeping in other places since my mom is going to start watching her next week
I reallllllly want a spotted love tula, but can't afford it right now. My SIL gave us a hand me down angel pack before A was born, but I didn't love the print. So I did a little DIY-ing anddddddd
Bath and Body Works already has their fall candles out (hell yes!!) but I counted EIGHT pumpkin scents on the website. Wtaf? They're like "YOU LIKE PUMPKINS?! Pumpkin donut, pumpkin cupcake, pumpkin waffles, pumpkin cider, pumpkin latte, pumpkin cinnamon bun and plain ol' pumpkin!" Relax y'all.
I need to go and see if those even smell different. To me, I would smell pumpkin. And that's it..
I walk up to cashier and ask how she's doing. She looks up at me and says she doesn't talk to people who feed their children formula. So, I asked her if she wanted me to not feed my baby or feed him something that makes him purple face cry all day long. She started stuttering, so I took my change and told her I don't talk to people who judge me for how I raise my child without knowing the situation.
I seriously hate people. Why judge me for how i feed my child? He's fed and well. I'm not torturing him. LEAVE ME ALONE. Ugh.

Dear lord, people are so ignorant. :-w
ETA: Prior to weaning, my daughter went from breast milk to formula and she didn't degenerate into some wraith-like creature once the breast milk was gone. Imagine my surprise!

WHAT?! I hope you made a complaint to the manager!
@ambarnett1 You have got to be kidding me. I'd complain to the manager. It'd be like me saying I don't talk to people who eat meat, and I'd get fired so hard. People don't realize that when they judge people for their actions, they're being judged for being ass holes and should be reminded of that when they open their mouths.

Ugh - I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I can't imagine having to deal with that kind of judgement every day when you're not doing anything wrong.
On another hand, MAJOR props for having the timing/balls/quick thinking to say EXACTLY what people like that need to hear - that they're asshats and need to STFU.
