  • Seriously?! I went to target with George and got him to fall asleep on the way home. I get home and successfully transfer him inside. My parents decide to go run errands and I tell them ok, but be quiet as you leave because George is asleep in the room by the door. So as my mom is putting her shoes on about 5 feet from him she yells across the house to me "I think the dishwasher is clean." And now I have a crying baby. The dishwasher will remain full of clean dishes.

What should have been an hour 10 minute trip to the ILs had already taken 2 hours with traffic, detours and stopping for 1) gas 2) to pee 3) to feed DD 4) to get food and 5) to get FIL a gift card for his bday. We still have 30 minutes to go. MIL is already an anxious wreck wanting to see DD because she's only seen her twice (she refuses to travel) and now she's gonna be a mess because we have to leave no later than 6:30 or all hell breaks loose with DD in the car. Anyone up for a round of butthurt bingo? Cuz I'm gonna win big.

Maybe she should learn to travel? Or learn to suck it up and wear her big old lady panties.
  • My mom is up my ass today and my polls always post 3 at a time before I'm done. FTW

Sometimes I get ridiculously jealous of DH.

He's napping on the couch now.  I wish I could nap.  Or sleep a night through.  Not get up 10 times a night with the baby.
I completely understand. I could give advice about asking for a break, getting him to help more, etc, but I suck at it myself so it would be hypocritical of me. My husband does help a lot, but I fervently wish I could sleep as much as he gets to.
It's not even that he doesn't help, per se.  I literally cannot nap.  And even if he volunteered to take all the night duties over, I would have to go to a hotel to sleep, since I'm such a light sleeper.

I just invited 4 couples over for dinner next weekend to force myself to clean the house.  :-S

DH is supposed to invite one more. While we have an "open floor plan house that is great for entertaining", we have never had more than 2 adults visiting at once. I figured we should do that once before we move at least.

Plus, government contract movers usually won't ship opened alcohol bottles. So, we need help drinking ours up. I promised food, booze, and a game of Cards Against Humanity. I hope people come. (Translation "I hope people like me.")
    I'll come! My kinda night.

Ooh that's rough, @hlm184‌. It takes me a bit to fall asleep, but I can manage it. Hope you somehow get some rest soon.
Thanks.  I had a little cry and now I'm feeling a bit better.  I'd feel much better if I could go for a run, but 90 degrees out, no way!  Maybe tomorrow morning.

  • @hlm184‌ I know how you feel, I can't nap either and it sucks. DH wakes up every time LO does but he can fall back asleep instantly and I'm soooo jealous. DS just wants boob all night so it's been all me the last month or so.

  • I'm so sad. A while ago I talked about possibly taking in one of my ILs' dogs who'd gotten aggressive, and a bunch of you gave me excellent advice. We offered to take her, but they were more worried about her aggression than I realized, and they didn't want us take her and have her around the kids.

They worked with her and even tried her on meds, but this past week she attacked another dog and a person, and they put her down this morning on the advice of their vet. She could be so sweet at times, and I didn't realize this was going down this morning. I didn't even get to say goodbye! :((

    Poor puppy.

Yes. The roast was 4.5 lbs so there are plenty of leftovers!

  • Well, this getaway weekend is a bust. DH doesn't get done till 7,which is both kids' bedtime. Took them swimming but had to alternate one at a time in the pool. I didn't bring enough toys for dd so she's bored. Ds doesnt want to be put down. My favorite thing about hotels is lying around in the AC and relaxing, but there will be none of that.

  • Should I be mad at MIL for giving sips of water to LO from a cup or let it roll since it was just water? My first instinct is to be mad but then again I can't get mad at everything and it wasn't tea or coke or something like that... I tend to be easily annoyed at things she does.

It's very unlikely she drank a lot. The main reason they say no water before 6m is because of water toxicity, where the electrolytes get flushed out. But it is really unlikely if she only took sips and you aren't watering down your BM or formula that that would occur. I would just gently remind MIL why we don't do this. I would be more mad that her dirty mouth shared a cup, potentially introducing teeth rotting bacteria that will effect her future dental health.

Do all 3 year old scream an eardrum piercing scream? Little kid birthday parties are ear torture. So. Much. Screaming.

  • What a lousy day @Vinny424‌ :( If anything is going to give you the feels, that seems like a pretty good reason. Hope your H gets his head out of his arse soon, and that you get all the baby snuggles. *hugs*

Do you get used to it? I wanted to scream back and/or run away.
I go temporarily deaf when she does it. I have yet to get used to it.
  • I'm sorry Vinny. :( hope your DH gets his act together.

  • @poru Show off that hottness, lady! ;)

Sorry you're having a rough day, Vinny! I think we must be polar opposites. I'm the most emotional person I know. I think I became less emotional when I was pregnant... but it's definitely back. Anyway, I hope if you decide to talk with your husband that y'all can talk things out and come to a solution. >:D<

  • Oh @MrsStanton87‌ that sucks big hairy balls and I wouldn't blame you for crying or barfing, or both :(
  • XP from FB, but I'm just so sad about it that I thought I'd share. Mostly because I might be in a funk for the next couple of days.

Just went out to my garage to get a hammer and discover I left my ENTIRE stash of milk on top of our chest freezer overnight. Ive been doing the gift bag trick so it's all in one place.
I could either barf or just curl up and start crying.

I feel your pain. It was 3 days before I realized my deep freeze had died last July. My mom told me to cry it out and then go pump. Sucked balls. Hopefully you can rebuild quickly.
