Owen has been on a serious napping strike for a whole week now. Like he will sleep 15-20 minutes at a time and he wants to be held ALL THE TIME. On Saturday he took a 3 hour nap, and Sunday almost 4 hours. DH is all "so this is what you are so tired from all week?" Kid totally made me out to be a liar and back to the nap strike today.
Can y'all say a prayer and send good thoughts for my husband? He has to take a test in a few hours in order to be certified. He failed the first time he took it, so he's nervous this time, especially since he has a job offer riding on this one. I've been staying positive for him, but I'm a little nervous too! Thanks in advance!

DS is still sleeping and it's 9 am. I woke up ON MY OWN (gasp) and got tons of cleaning done for our Canada Day BBQ today. Win! I even ate breakfast, what is this a luxury resort?
Now I'm on cat lock on the couch waiting for him to get up. Best morning ever!
Yay!
Logan slept until 9:30 am yesterday!
Unfortunately, my other two were up at 7 am.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~
I just wanted to say Hi to everyone...and to apologize for the probably long-forgotten emotional drama queen act I pulled a while ago. Being a new mom, working and figuring out hubster's anxiety completely kicked my ass but I've been able to pull through it with the help of some friends. I can't say I'll be super active on here but I miss you girls and hope you're all doing awesome!
It's going to be 92 degrees here today and we have no A/C. Our house will probably hit 86ish for the night.
We're visiting my BIL at fort Irwin in Barstow CA ...yesterday hit 109 and it's set to do it again today. The coolest it got last night was 90. Yuck.
Was 109 here yesterday to. Will be again today. DH refuses to go to the mountains to get out of the heat.
Also refuses to get me a new pump part. My boobs are killing me. Obviously will have to go back to nursing the toddler. Using my old medela pump. It sounds like a freight train.
DH was just talking about applying for jobs in MI and OH! Get to get out of DC and still be close to family! Plus we could totally afford a decent house out that way!
Come to Ohio - specifically central Ohio, we're pretty awesome
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK with the dad from the little Georgia boy googling "can a baby die in a hot car" before he's left his poor baby in his SUV! Makes me sick

For real?! What an ass - a pump part can't be that expensive!

WTAF?! I didn't hear about this. WTF is wrong with people/!??!?!?
It's 70 in my house already. A mall trip might be in order today!!
@Jessieann1020 I didn't get it either til I moved to WA and the first place we lived had a/c. Everyone was very surprised, which surprised me! You just don't need it but a few days a year!
I didn't realize it was going to be so hot in Seattle today. I just turned on all the fans. I have a pool but it's not like I can go swimming with an infant to take care of.
It's supposed to be 99 here today, but one benefit of living in the mountain desert is that the temperature still drops when the sun goes down. The low is supposed to be 63
@fireflygirl12 it's $4! But not available in Tulare do if have to go to Fresno to get the pump part. And the reason my boobs do sore? I just pumped 10oz after nursing the baby! Holy hell! I'm surprised they didn't explode from the inside. On the plus side I have convinced DH to go to the mountains and possible camp. Hope there's some first come first served sites left.
I don't care if it was only hot one day a year. I'd be the fool who'd have AC anyway, I cannot function in the heat, least of all sleep in it.
Sleeping is the worst part. At least when I work in the summer I can go to an air conditioned office all day, but our house has literally been 90 degrees all night long when we get a stretch of hot days. Sooooo miserable.

I read that yesterday morning when I was breastfeeding and just cried and cried and cried.
Just wanted to say, it's hard to keep up when you're at work but I'm going to try!
First day back and zero tears. Does that make me a bad mom?
f you're a bad mom so am I . I've been back to work for about a month and I didn't cry once. and I love my H and LO so much more when I come home from work.

Yesterday got to 106* here and our house only cooled to 81* even through the night with the AC running. I'm actually excited that it's only supposed to be 99* today. =D>
