Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • Soooo tonight I'm experiencing the most excruciating pain in my pelvic area. It is like stabbing pain when I walk or even move. It brought me to tears tonight. I don't know what the efff it is but it's not fun!!
    :((

Is it SPD? I get this when I've been over doing it. Feels like you've been riding a horse for days on end?
    Yesssss!!!!!!!

  • I fell back asleep on the couch. I finally had a dream about the baby and I could see what he actually looked like. I remember DH was holding and singing to the baby. Those are the things I can't wait for. DH has no experience with NB and I'm so excited to watch him learn and get the hang of it!!

Also I spilled coffee all over the floor. Twice. :D

Thank you, incompetent staff, for waking me up at 5:45am. I'm sorry you don't feel well, but it's your job to find your own damn sub. That's 2 days in a row of me getting a rude awakening and this 35weeks pregnant woman is not enjoying it.

Blah. My GF has an 11 month old, and she's SO inflexible and such a worrywart. It drives my laid back self crazy sometimes. Dear FTM's, The world will not end if your baby misses a nap because you're traveling and they don't want to sleep in the new place. And if you're visiting family, at least you'll have help with a cranky baby.
I agree with allllll of this. My SIL gave me a book at my baby shower "12 hours' sleep by 12 weeks" and it pretty much tells you to put your kid on a strict schedule so they sleep well at night.I wanted to laugh at her because I never put DD on a schedule and she has always been a good sleeper. I'm sure that book works well for some people but I much prefer to be able to have some leisure rather than live my life hour by hour.

My DH lets his alarm ring every fifteen minutes from 5:30-7 every day. I am beyond over it. I shouldn't have to be awakened that early every day if he doesn't even make an attempt. He's either gotta set a time that he's going to wake up at (7) or sleep in the other bedroom. I'm sick of being grouchy about it.. Grrrrrr. ... vent over ~X(
This reminds me of my DH. He sets an alarm at 3:15am just so he can wake up, realize he has an hour and a half to sleep and then goes right back to sleep. Meanwhile, I'm awake. Pisses me off to no end.

  • This is my last OB appointment before I switch to midwives...and the third time I've had to wait over 30 minutes past my appointment time. So glad I'm pulling the chute on this bushleague mess!
Good for you! Way to be proactive!

  • @katiegummow - adorable!! My only warning would be to find a way to screw the whole ladder shelving system into the wall, if it isn't already. That way it's baby proofed later and can't fall onto the boys when they inevitably decide to play with it/on it. :)
Brilliant. I will do that today. Would you get the brackets or just screw it right into the wall?

I've seen it where people actually screw a ribbon/tie onto the back of the shelf, and then screw that ribbon to the wall.  That gives a little flexibility in the shelf/wall movement, but still won't let anything fall over...

Edited because I still can't spell but...

  • And now I am super stressed. My furbaby (Snickers) hind leg is super swollen. Vet wants me to bring him in but....1. I need to make a appt for him to be seen  2. waiting for my uncle to say my car is fixed. So I can't make a appt till I get my car back. Thankfully he isn't acting like he is in pain but he looks so sad.

  • This should be on the stupid questions thread...but any of you guys still having a non-bond issue with your baby? I feel like I am excited to have a baby-- but I don't feel like I have the attachment to it inside me and honestly am freaking myself out. My excuse for the first 1.5 trimesters was that I was so sick...now I am like, "okay I feel good, the baby moves a lot and I should feel like it's in there".....but I just don't :(

I am really stressing about it and that I won't have that connection at all. and I know they say not everyone does, but everyone I know who is pregnant, rubs their belly, gushes about being a mom and I am like, "oh yeah I am having a baby".

Maybe this should be an FFFC...

I'm with you.  I haven't made the connection between this wiggling in my belly and a baby yet.  It's like they are two different things.

  • @baileymama3 - I know where you're coming from. I mean I'm excited, and I love the baby, but deep down, I've felt pretty detached most of the pregnancy. I post abut baby on Facebook to try and make him feel more like a real person to me. I think it's because it's been so difficult physically? It kind of feels like I've just been sick for eight months. The body changes weird me out, and most of the ultrasounds have felt like I was watching a movie of one of my organs or something.

I've also spent the entire pregnancy worried I would lose the baby, so I think it's hard to get over that mentality and attach. I bet once you hold your baby in your arms it will feel different--hopefully in a better way. Maybe right now it feels more like an abstract concept?
  • @baileymama3 I loved my ultrasounds though. I had 3 total and the days of and following the U/S were the days I was most attached to LO.
  • thanks guys :) I needed to hear I am not the only one who ever feels this way (I am so good at assuming I always alone in this process). I am the only one working in my store today and am sitting at the desk ugly-crying. If someone walked in they would probably turn around and run out!

    Trying to pull it together!

@deidremaria--- me too-- it helps seeing for me....but only temporarily~

    Oh no :(

Hopefully it's something simple like an allergic reaction or something.

Don't feel bad. I have more moments of "I can't wait to have my body back" than "aww sweet pea just kicked". I love my baby very much but I find myself wishing that there was another way for mammals to gestate.

So glad to know I'm not alone.  I'm afraid that even after she's born I won't bond with her for a while. =/

  • embear22 mine is not vision, but out of nowhere I hear intense ringing for about 5-10 seconds. It never lasts long enough to bother or freak me out, but I kinda get a dizzy feeling-- prob associated with equilibrium.
