UGH! @LoriMc12 Its such a horrible feeling. And you kinda hope it'll pass, but then you start to sweat a little bit?! That's when I know its ALL over.
@katieharpiceland oh you poor thing! The dreaded "Bubble Gut" always wants to show up at the most inopportune times...I certainly wouldn't want to do anything on a strange toilet either!! I'd much rather explode at home.
I'm sorry about your cheesecake! Which recipe did you use?? I made the Cheesecake Factory one that I posted on here (and also ate my share of the filling before adding the eggs lol), and it turned out awesome...and the recipe didnt call for a water bath! Just a thought for next time.
:-h I've gained 25 pounds so anyone who's gained less I hate you
Yea but you look like a damn super model, so shoosh.
I was actually down a pound from my pre-preg weight (and this was even right after eating breakfast, so I'm likely down more than that) at my 20 week appt...but that pre-preg weight is well over 250 lbs. So I'd MUCH rather be in your body. I'd look WAY better.
DH had a full day of work for the first time in a while. I must say.. it was amazing. I took DD to lunch and a movie, put her down for a nap and I read peacefully without him pestering me the entire time. Pure bliss after such a long time of him being home.
@Jennypenny1014 I must have used a different cheesecake factory copycat one because it did call for a water bath. But, I ended up making pumpkin cheesecake tarts (muffin tin sized cheesecakes) and they were fabulous and very easy!! So, all was saved.
Seriously, there is nothing worse than being with intestinal distress and wondering whether to go for the toilet there (which is horrifying) or just bail and go home. I'm glad I bailed and went home. It was NOT pretty. LOL
Ps. I secretly hate all the fit moms and all you bitches that post your exercise crap. I've been waiting 30 years of watching my weight to just eat my face off lmao. But seriously I kind of hate you. Can't you just eat and chill like the rest of us? )
@poru Don't blame yourself! LOL We seriously have THE WORST foil here (and plastic wrap, omg, its crap!) and as I was putting it on, I thought, hmmm, maybe I should have gone to the American store and bought the good stuff.
Just think of the cheapest dollar store foil you can buy in America, ours is worse than that. I don't know how anyone does anything with it :-D
Hey for all you second time moms out there what is happening in my body right now ...my stomach is supertight and it feels like my baby is kickboxing my vagina on the inside?!?!?!

Supertight like in the middle of a situp type tight? You might be experiencing some braxton kicks, and baby is protesting by kicking you nice and low?
Yes!!! (

She used the recipe I linked her to - sigh. I feel guilty.
I still swear by water baths. Ever since I lengthened my cooking times and started using water baths, people go absolutely ga ga over my cheesecakes. So tender and even. I made a similar one last week (just not pumpkin) and it was perfect. I do use heavy duty aluminum foil and use 4-5 layers.
What temp do you bake them at when you do a water bath?? I will admit that even though my recipe that I used didnt call for one, I always hear that it's the best way to make a cheesecake so I did one anyway, but it extended the baking time by almost 30 mins @ 350 degrees, plus I let it cool while sitting in the water bath as the water cooled to continue cause the center was still super soft set. I wonder if I would have had better results cooking time wise if I'd cranked the heat up a bit. (I also live over 6500 ft, so high altitude could have something to do with my issue as well.)
@jennypenny1014 don't crank up the heat! Cheesecakes are best cooking low and slow. 300-325 is best for regular altitudes (I don't know much about high altitude baking). If the edges were set and the center wasn't, you need to turn down the heat and bake longer.
@poru I think I need to import a pan from the states. I would love to have a real 10" pan. I have no idea how many inches my pan is, but, its definitely not 10" (its bigger.) Its on my list of things to do, but, it always gets pushed down. LOL
@poru my hubby made me do the neti pot thing once and I accused him of spouse abuse via making me water board myself. He doesn't think I'm dramatic at all. ;;)
OMG ladies, I just made homemade peppermint hot chocolate, and it's quite possibly the greatest thing I've ever done. I've been craving it for weeks! Super rich, super chocolatey, slightly minty perfection in a mug.
If this sounds like something you'd like, I made it using the following:
2 oz unsweetened baking chocolate (not cocoa powder)
5 tbsp sugar
1 tsp peppermint extract
2 cups of milk
Throw everything into a saucepan. Warm it up on medium heat, stirring constantly to dissolve the sugar and melt the chocolate, until it gets to a point where it's about to start boiling. Remove immediately from the heat, and enjoy!
ETA: If anyone is familiar with the Williams-Sonoma hot chocolate that they sell around the holidays for $25 a tin, this totally rivals it (actually, it tastes better to me! Theirs is excessively peppermint-y to me), at a fraction of the cost. You're welcome!

Oh how I wish that you were my secret santa draw...I'd totally throw a good springform pan in with your onesie! haha
Everytime I see a post from you, I totally want to get a care package together and send you some USA goodies that you've been pining for.

325 degrees for 1.75 hours total. I don't let it rest in the oven when I am done (I used to). I just take it out of the waterbath right away and let it cool on a wire rack. Also, make sure you are pouring boiling water into the pan before going into the oven, not just warm water. I never understand how to handle high altitude. Don't things take a lot longer there?
They can, for sure. I have no idea how to handle cheesecake at altitude...hell, I'm just now figuring out homemade bread. LOL
And that Martha Stewart recipe looks devine. I will have to try it! I got my springform pan at Target and I think it's a 10"...only cost me $14.
HAHA I drank too much of that delicious hot chocolate, and now my tummy is mad at me- I'm SO full! I haven't thrown it up yet though (like I did last night's delicious dinner...boo hoo), so at least that means Little Miss likes it. Score!
Can you still ff through commercials? I thought a lot of stations have ways to block that?
When I watch shows on demand you can't ff anymore. So annoying.
I can't even handle the limited skips per hour/day on Pandora. If I watched TV at all I would probably have a conniption. Instead I am a massive Netflix whore.
March 2017 September Siggy Challenge: Favorite Fall Things
I want to buy a pregnancy massage table so I can lay on my belly.
Tempurpedic mattress. I didn't know how good I had it until I slept at my in laws. Best invention for a pregnant lady ever. I can still sleep comfortably on my stomach.
I swear my son just uses the food I make as a vehicle to get condiments into his mouth. Tonight was quesadillas, so he dipped it in sour cream and licked off the sour cream. Yesterday was chicken strips and he dipped it in ketchup and licked off the ketchup. Lunch today had red pepper strips and he dipped it in ranch. But he doesn't eat the actual food. Sigh.
I call french fries ketchup taxis. I do eat the fries though.

This is my son as well...he takes after his mother, sadly. I also feel that food is merely a conduit for transporting sauce; but I actually eat what the sauce is smothering, so that's the difference.
So a former coworker/friend of mine just announced she is pregnant on FB complete with U/S photo. She is due late July 2014. You cannot even actually see the baby on the photo because it is so small. Just seems REALLY early to be announcing your pregnancy to the whole world via FB. I really hope everything works out well for her and wish her the best but when I saw it, I got nervous FOR her. SMH...
