I promised myself I would commit to working really hard on my first day back. My computer isn't cooperating. This is unfortunate because I feel like it's not going to take much to throw me off track. Poo.

April 14 August Siggy Challenge- "This time last year.."
I feel bad for all you ladies taking the glucola tests. I had to take mine early due to previous GD in my 1st pregnancy and my age... it my LEAST favorite part of pregnancy Dr. visits.... I would take a membrane sweep over drinking that damn sugar drink any day.
I didn't like the way it handled/drove. Make sure you take it out in the parking lot & see how it operates on concrete if you're interested. Everyone likes different things, but it wasn't for me.
AW: I once again just had someone say something to me along the lines of "Thank goodness you aren't having twins, my friend just had twins and that sounds like a nightmare". And for the first time this pregnancy, my heart didn't ache for the loss of LO's twin. I am still a little sad when I think about it, but the pain is finally gone.

Worth every penny!! I LOVE mine, almost 2 years of use now. I am so sad to leave it for a double stroller. My son loves his stroller even at 23 months. I can push it one handed easily, I love the massive sun visor. I love how easy it maneuvers and the weight of it. I have traveled through MANY airports with it and have never wished for anything else. I'm slightly obsessed
Can someone explain the bottle nipples to me? I plan to BF but will be working/going to school so bottle feeding will be happening. I registered for two types of bottles, tommee tippee and medela, and every kind of nipple that is compatible with them (slow, medium, and fast flow). Is this necessary? I'm just not sure why there is a difference and what is preferred among BF babies.
@hbell12 My kids were breastfed and when they took a bottle they never moved up from the slow flow nipple. When a baby is nursing they have to work to suck the milk out so the slow flow bottle nipple is going to be closest to that.
Hope that makes sense.

I was poking around on Etsy and saw some cute labor and delivery gowns. Are those meant for after birth? Doesn't your gown get all messy/sweaty during birth?
I've missed so much. 40 pages... Just wanna send lots of T&Ps to everyone who needs them.
Just had an "AH HA" moment. Babies will be here for Mother's Day this year! That's so exciting!! I guess maybe even more so for us FTMs!
That's such a heartwarming thought! Mother's Day has been sad for me since losing my mom so this Mother's Day will be a nice change.

As far as what I wore in the hospital. I used the hospital gowns for labor and delivery and stayed in those for the first night (clean ones of course). The nurses will come to check on you quite a bit the first few hours and one thing they do is press on your belly and take a look "down stairs" to check on bleeding, so having to pull down a pair of pants was not something I wanted to worry about. Breastfeeding in the hospital gown wasn't an issue since they snap at the shoulder. When I felt ready I changed into a pair of comfy pj pants and nursing tank and I also used my own undies and pads (Always Infinity overnights) because I truly hated the mesh undies and monster hospital pads.

My demi paneled jeans are starting to dig in and be really uncomfortable and that ticks me off. Why didn't I just go full panel on all pants?
Full panel is doing the same to me. The top of the panel is digging into my belly all day even though the pants for me and the next size up is way too big. I had to cut a V out of the sides of the panels.

FTM here so no helpful response but a spin off question. What do the STM+ recommend as far as styles of jammies or robes for while in hospital...bc the ones ours offers are crap. I intend to breastfeed while in hospital so I'm assuming something conducive to that so that I don't have to strip completely...anyone have something specific they loved?
I wore old fashioned boy's button up pajamas with a pull-down nursing tank (nothing tight).
That way I was in PJs and could button them up if people came, but didn't have anything restrictive on my boobs.
When will some brainiac at Target learn that tall people want to buy their pants too? I can't buy pajamas or any pants for that matter at Target because they are too short. In fact, if anyone has recommendations for tall pajama pants, I would love to hear them.

I went to BRU today to do a comparison on the Britax and the City mini. The city mini won, however it's so expensive. I wasn't all that impressed with the Britax but it did fold really easy and it looks great. I love the shade but the under compartment might as well not even be there, it was so small. Also, I agree with PP about the handling. The city mini felt a lot better but for the price of the Britax travel system, it's good enough for me!
To the Mother's Day comment: I'm selfishly looking forward to my first Mother's Day of not being made to feel guilty about not making it all about my MIL. I will not let that woman make me feel bad about celebrating my first! And DH and I are both really, REALLY looking forward to Father's Day meaning something good in our lives again.

@LoriMc12 -- Maybe men's talls would work for you? I was comfy in having PJs that were a little big especially since I was so swollen I was bigger leaving the hospital than when I arrived.

BIRL you know you are soul sister so this is me and DH exactly about Fathers Day! :x

@LoriMc12- You could try Old Navy? My sister and I are both 6', and though she is a size 4 and I'm a 28, we've both had pretty good luck.
I bought my sister some tall PJ pants a size larger than her pre-pregnancy size with a drawstring and they lasted most of the way through her pregnancy.
I've also had some plus-size luck with Old Navy by reading the reviews and ordering the lounge pants that run "too long".
Can I just say how much I've missed you ladies since December 23 or so? That's the last time I was actually active (besides trying to read threads in lightning speed while sitting on the toilet).
The kids went back to school today, and I actually had more than 30 seconds to look at a post!!
I'm going to go through and skim some mess because I know that I've seen some good recipe recommendations lately and I'm starving.
That being said, here's what's up:
SPD like a mo fo. This junk hurts.
DH needs a hobby. Two weeks is waaaaaay too long for us to be in the house together with each other nonstop.
DD (8) has been practicing her cloth diaper technique - she chose prefolds to master. She still needs some work, but hey! I'm happy she wants to help so much!
DS (6) has decided to flip-flop and become the devil's own spawn. It's been … stressful with him.
LO is doing just fine, though her fits of spastic-like movements trip me out. Dance party! 9:00!
MIL is still a bitch. That's all I have to say about that. FIL puts up with too much shit.
I promise to not disappear that long again. To save my sanity, I've already told DH and the kidlets that Momma needs her bump time. :-B
