So here I thought I've been doing good by eating lots of fruits and yogurts and organic juices.. My doctor said all that sugar breaks down like a diabetic, for pregnant women and that is why I have gained so much weight so fast
Eta I literally eat a crate of strawberries a day! Ughh they are so good
September Siggy Challenge: What I Sing in the Shower: Little Mermaid "Part Of That World"
@mrscrcalli that's what happened to me, too. I LOVE fruit and was eating at least 4tangerines a day. My endocrinologist cut me off! He said apples and berries are the best fruit for us to eat and to eat some protein with it. What? More peanut butter you say? OK!
Totally got wrapped up in planning a big ham dinner for DH and I tomorrow that I have no idea what to make tonight.
Based on our current pantry situation, it's either going to be Christmas Eve sandwiches, pasta with turkey meatballs but no garlic bread, or pizza rolls. Hmm. A sad departure from the Christmas Eve Prime Rib my mom is making tonight 300 miles away from me. Despite the meat aversion, I'd still kill for a couple bites of it today.
I genuinely have had these impulsive thoughts of saying "fuck all of this", throwing shit in a bag and driving all day to Wisconsin to surprise my family and be with them. Talk about a Christmas surprise! But both of us have to work on Thursday. Argh! Skype it is, I guess.
I'm at work today, but it's not going to be a productive day! The office is pretty empty, and I have no desire to get anything done! Merry Christmas Eve to all of you!
Sorry to hear about your kitty! I hope it was an isolated issue

I mean I obviously I have my share of candy and pancakes as well that doesn't help but I was substituting fruit when I was craving sweet stuff thinking that that was good but it just added more to the pain!

For what it's worth, those times that you chose fruit were still probably better for you and the baby because you at least got some good nutrients and fiber when you ate those things instead of candy or other sweet stuff. So, maybe over-consumption of fruit wasn't IDEAL, but it was still better than over-consumption of snickers. You can at least give yourself a pat on the back for that!
I'd like to do a crockpot breakfast for tomorrow morning so I can focus more on our Christmas morning than cooking. Has anyone tried this? Any suggestions?
And oven baked bacon on the side. And mimosas. Everything is make-ahead the night before, except the bacon, and you just pop the strata in the oven in the morning. It's an eggy cheesy bread pudding-ey bunch of delicious, and I highly recommend it. I've added cooked sausage to it, too, a few times, which means you can omit the bacon and really have it all be make-ahead. In my oven I always have to add a bit of cooking time, though, if I go straight from fridge to oven.

Peanut butter and apples have been my snack. Are you finding it hard to get protein in every meal and snack? I've been on the GD diet for less than a week and have lost 6 pounds. Dr wasn't thrilled.
Mom to 10 year old DS and 7 year old DD. Twin girls coming soon!
I have a bad habit of going out for my lunch break instead of bringing food from home. I now have to bring my food back to work because if I stay and eat at a food place I will buy myself seconds.

You could do a potluck oatmeal, or what I do is make overnight cinnamon rolls where I make the dough tonight. You roll it out and fill them with cinnamon and sugar, roll it up, cut the rolls, and let it rise overnight. Then in the morning pre-heat the oven and just toss them in. To elaborate - many docs won't perform major medical intervention like a c-section if it "only" (ugh) means to save your baby before this point, because the chance of survival outside the womb is so slim. Also, allegedly something about some states won't issue a birth certificate for a baby born prior to 24 weeks that passes shortly thereafter... but I'm not sure how true that is.
ETA - late to the party
I second the ugh. DD was in NICU with a 23-weeker who did just fine, and I know moms of 23-weekers from the Preemie board. It bothers me that there are places that refuse to try.

I have either done a strata or my great-grabdma's cinnamon coffee cake for Christmas morning breakfast. This year, since we'll be eating the ham around 1-2pm, I am just doing the coffee cake with oven baked bacon on the side.
Since I will be crumbling bacon into the green beans to go with the ham it should save on prep time!

Lol! Yeah, the rain robbed us of the nice fluff
So sad. Same thing happened here in NY. I was hoping for white Christmas for the first time in years... No such luck.

Yeah- my mom said it snowed so much that they plowed our subdivision!!! That never happens, but it means there are gross piles everywhere. BLUE we are in the same city!

Vet said it was an isolated incident. We have to give her some sort of med and keep and eye on her. If it happens again they want us to video tape it. They started talking brain samples and possibly putting her down if she gets worse. I'm feeling super guilty about being gone all day right now. I'm an emotional mess and DH is mad at me because we spent so much money at the vet. Not a great start to Christmas Eve.
I'm glad she's still alive. At the beginning of October, my rabbit died. She had some contaminated lettuce from a grocery store and died two days later in my arms from seizures. It was the saddest experience. I understand your stress and concern. I hope she does well and it's not something that continues.

That's what is unfair about fruit. It's so delicious and you think it's super healthy but some of it is full of natural sugars. When I want a healthy snack, I'm never thinking of grabbing raw broccoli from the fridge. At least apples/peanut butter is a good alternative.
