  • I'm 40 and 4weeks pregnant with my 2nd. I'll be 41 when this one is born. I had my first at 35 and it was a great pregnancy and an uncomplicated scheduled C-section. I'm hoping for a similar experience this time around! 🙏🏻
  • I was 41 years old when I had my first baby. I had a perfect pregnancy! Felt wonderful the entire time. Never had morning sickness or anything. Heartburn and swelling feet were the only 2 issues I dealt with, but it was well worth it. I did get induced and my daughter didn’t budge. I ended up having a c-section after 3 days of labor. That was because I was trying hard to go natural. When they told me I couldn’t hold off anymore, we did the c-section, but I recovered very well. My daughter is a very healthy, beautiful 5 year old today. The crazy thing is that I am now pregnant again (almost 8 weeks) and I’m 46! I have been told I would never likely have children prior to my daughter. I had PCOS and a thyroid issue. I take thyroid meds and with both pregnancies, we did not have any interventions from a fertility clinic. My husband had a vasectomy reversed after 8 years. So far, no morning sickness or anything this go round. We did lose 2 others in the early weeks of pregnancy in the past. The most recent was in January of this year. The HCG levels dropped both times. So far, with this one,
the levels are looking good. I did get out on progesterone. No weird side effects. All is good so far! Praying it all goes well!
  • Hello  :) I am 41 and this is my and my husband’s first pregnancy/child. I am 8 weeks, looking to share experiences with other moms.  My doctor hasn’t been too forthcoming with information or do’s/don’ts of pregnancy. Any advice is welcome. So far just going day to day.
  • I'm still not on my 40s but I am happy reading all your comments!
  • 40 is just a number. Your body and you are ready or you wouldn’t be pregnant 🙂
  • Hello there. I'm 46 years old. Hubby is 47. Totally unexpected pregnancy here. I'm 10 weeks. We both have children from previous marriage. Mine are twin boys that are 26. He's has 2 daughters 16 and 14.
  • Do you feel totally weird/different? I am 43, I usually have a ton of energy and now it seems like if I don't take an extra nap in the morning I can't function.
  • I’m close… 39!  I’ll be 11 weeks Friday and this will be my first. Congrats!!  Sometimes I think maybe I should have done this earlier in life but oh well LOL. I hope all goes as smooth as possible for you :) my cousin had a baby at 31 and another at 42 and both are doing great
  • I’m 39. I had some bleeding around 7 weeks and got scared and went in for an US. they said it was prob a small SCH that fixed itself but it sure scared me. I’ll be11 weeks Friday. Congrats!!
  • I’m 41, 4 weeks+3days. First time being pregnant. So great to see so many of us on here! :)
  • I was 41 when I delivered my first.  Had a healthy pregnancy, and have a healthy baby girl.  Delivery was a little rough.  I developed acute pre-eclampsia when I got to the hospital for my induction.  I didn’t tolerate the magnesium and epidural together well.

I’ll be 43 when I deliver baby #2 in February.

I don’t feel like being in my 40s made my pregnancy any different, other than being considered high-risk.  But honestly, the extra monitoring was kind of nice.
  • I’m 38 and is same 4 weeks 3 days congrats
  • hey, congrats on the little one! I'm sure you’ll do great, age is just a number, right? 😊

I actually checked the 'Heal Baby Care App' for this and here’s what it says:

"Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's completely normal to have concerns about being an older mom, but many women in their 40s have healthy pregnancies and babies. While age can bring some increased risks, such as gestational diabetes or chromosomal abnormalities, regular prenatal care can help monitor and manage these.

Have you discussed your concerns with your healthcare provider? They can provide personalized advice and support tailored to your situation."
  • Hello. I’m 41 as well, just found out a few days ago i’m pregnant. My son has just turned 10. Feeling extremely anxious this time around mainly due to my age.
  • I'm 40 with baby number 4. Not expected. There are chances of you having some issues because of the age but they can deliver early if that's the case and baby should be just fine. My last girl was delivered at 37 weeks because I had cholestasis. Only 5lbs but no NICU and all good.

I’m 40 and five weeks pregnant. I also have a two year old son. I was super anxious the first time but have been more relaxed this time, so far.
  • Congrats. I am 45 and we are 5w 2d with our first. We have been trying for st least 7 years so there is much anxiety.
  • Update: I had a missed miscarriage, so no baby on my 40th birthday...
It took time for me to heal emotionally, and we started ttc again about 3 months ago.

I am 5 weeks now. We are cautiously optimistic. After a loss I am certainly guarding my heart, and not going to announce until after 12 weeks.

I know this is from a while back, but just wanted to say congrats. Hope everything has gone well and you're soaking up all the baby love.

  • Hi everyone, I am 38 6w3d during my first pregnancy.  I will be 39 when the baby is ready to come.  I got my long term IUD removed in April and got pregnant during my 3rd cycle after removal.  I consider my husband and I so blessed. I thought our journey was going to be a long road given my age, the 22 years I spent on BC, and PCOS when I was twenty.  My mom had seven children all natural so I am hoping for a great pregnancy and safe delivery. I would love the  chance to be a mom again after our first arrives.
