I'm dying. Not pregnancy related, but I got the norovirus my daughter had two days ago. I can't stop puking and having the runs, to the point that I'm getting worried about needing to go to the ER for fluids. I can't even keep down water, and the phenergan the on-call doc prescribed instead of zofran is apparently doing exactly nothing.
@ki1244 go to the ER for fluids. I had that 3-4 weeks ago and was in the same situation with everything coming out of both ends and not being able to even keep down sips of water. I ended up going to the ER for fluids and was glad I did. They also gave me zofran in my IV which made a world of difference.
@priyadoc I was getting constant headaches and I saw someone else recommended electrolyte mix to there water. I started drinking one of those a day in my water and I haven’t has as bad or as frequent headaches and I drink a ton of water a day before but I think I just need the extra electrolytes
I had some random brown spotting yesterday. And it’s still sort of there today 😕. I’m hoping it’s just residual SCH-related, since there was no evidence of the SCH at my 13 week ultrasound last week. It was apparently moderate size at a 6 week ultrasound. I don’t think I have any other symptoms, but I feel like I’m over analyzing every single twinge.
Called my doc this morning, got Reglan instead, and no more issues (knock on wood). I've kept in a bottle of water and half a bottle of Gatorade since then, and my darling mom went out and got me ice chips to chew on. Still annoyed about the refusal of zofran (I'm well into second tri, COME ON) but since Reglan seems to be helping, cool.
@emeraldcity603 they said it was a "last resort" since it can cause birth defects. I was like YES BUT NOT BY THIS POINT -- but they stuck with phenergan, and then Reglan. At least that seems to be helping the nausea, although my ass is still a faucet (TMI?).
@ki1244 I saw that the CDC stated that it’s rampant right now. So everyone is getting it. 😬 I was asking my MFM about the research surrounding Zofran and she said new research has shown it’s not linked to birth defects. Who knows at this point. I try to avoid it while all the organs are forming in the first trimester but once those are done, I see no reason why it’s an issue. Especially if you aren’t taking it daily for a long time.
@ki1244 and @emeraldcity603 interesting! My OB’s office didn’t hesitate to prescribe it for me when I had the stomach bug. My SIL, who is a nurse, actually suggested asking for it. She’s usually my source for “which meds can I take?”
So frustrated and feeling completely drained and overwhelmed. My NT came back positive (which there is a lot of false positives) so now ohip will cover me to get the ntip but midwives can’t order it so sent request to my doctor and they told me the faxed it have tried to call the lab before going 3 times now and you can’t call them! So have shown up to be turned away. Now my doctors office is closed so I can’t go untill Monday. I was hoping to get it done today so could get the result a little sooner but now I can’t. And now I am crying at work and I can’t stop because I am so mad at people’s incompetence
I just been really hungry. Nothing too significant with symptoms this week until this morning. I had bright red spotting. So I had to go in for monitoring. They said everything looks good, not sure what happened, and I’ve been fine since. I’m going to try and take it easy this weekend. I’ve been getting a lot more done this week and cleaning more, so not sure if maybe I over did it. They said it was possibly just irritation that caused it.
I have my regular OB appointment next Friday, so I’m glad I have another visit soon just in case. My biggest concern right now is my blood pressure and keeping that down. It’s been elevated already every time I’m in the office but I think it’s an anxiety reaction since with my last two blood pressure was such a big deal. Still frustrating to see it elevated this early though.
Thanks everyone. So far symptoms are relatively mild. Just feels like a bad cold with a headache and body aches. Hoping it stays this way. So far, it’s definitely not as bad as when I got it in May.
Yesterday I went to the American Dream Mall. For those who don’t know what it is, it’s one of the largest, entertainment style malls in the US with indoor water park, theme park, and even indoor skiing inside! We didn’t do any of that but walking around for hours, I got home and felt like I got hit by a truck! My body was so sore, hips hurt, legs were in pain, I was winded from walking up a few steps in the parking garage. I didn’t think it was going to start now since I find myself pretty active but I was hurtin! I’m 19 weeks on Tuesday and I thought it would be like this 30 weeks!
My sleep is now crap I can’t get comfy on my sides and my pregnancy pillow makes me way to hot it just ends up on the floor and our dog has always slept with us but they are taking up to much room.
I’m still super tired, where’s that second tri energy? And my pelvic pain is in full force, I keep hoping it doesn’t get worse. We get to see baby next week for my anatomy scan, so I’m super excited and we are going on a cruise at the end of the month! ☀️ It’s the little things. Oh and I just booked all the sports and camps for my older two all the up to my due date, so I feel like we are going to fly through the next few months.
@estadt congestion is real!! What a pain. Sorry that you can’t sleep. I feel you, I’m a back sleeper so it’s been an adjustment sleeping on the side. And I think I’m just getting hot flashes. My SO got me a cooling cover for the pregnancy pillow. It’s really a relief. He purchased it on Amazon. Maybe you can look into it?
@cherrystorming Mine are itchy, but I think from hormone changes and increased sweating (they’re also stinkier—I always have to change deodorants when I’m pregnant/breastfeeding to better control the smell). I have to wipe off my deodorant at night or else it starts to itch from the product gathering in the skin creases during the day. This is only ever an issue when I’m pregnant. 🤷♀️
I’m getting some energy back which is awesome. I hope more of y’all starting getting that too. Although, we have several outdoor events this week so the cold will zap my energy. It does it when I’m not pregnant. Saturday I was out in 11 degree weather and I held up great. I had 4 body warmers on me though. Every time I moved I got to feel the warmth of those which really helped. Anyways, the temps are going up so I’m hoping those won’t even be necessary soon.
I’m exhausted this week and starting to feel some aches and pains. I feel like I had one good week. I had a Braxton hicks this morning and was like “well here we go”. Once my body starts on those is on and off until delivery and doesn’t matter if I drink more water or rest. I also feel similar to my last pregnancy, I think this baby is just going to feel like it’s falling out and is going to sit really low like my last. 🤦🏻♀️
@priyadoc same. I forgot about the sweating until a couple weeks ago I was sweating through a shirt at work. I’m really not looking forward to summer! 🥵
All of a sudden I have been extra nauseous no other symptoms and it hits so randomly. To the point I have had to run across the dealership to the bathroom.
Continue with headaches, still exhausted, and have entered the losing sleep stage because I get up to pee and then can’t fall back to sleep also I keep finding myself on my back when I wake up and I feel so guilty, thankfully I’m only 17 weeks and small but have to figure out how to stop asap. I don’t like putting pillows behind me because it makes me hotter and I hate the pregnancy pillow.
Constant headache that started two weeks ago, also caught some respiratory virus from my kid and coughing non-stop + constant heart palpitations — anyone experienced these?
Re: March Symptoms
@ki1244 agree that you should get fluids if you can't keep water down
