Re: Randoms 10/4

  • @marebear15 I read something similar (for Canada) and it’s crazy! My dr actually suggested I avoid a bagged salad, make it from fresh where I can wash all the veggies. I’ve been following that. I have been totally turned off the idea of sandwich meat otherwise I think I’d eat it lol. I’ve also been having my eggs with slightly undercooked yolks and it’s so good.
I told my friend that breaking little rules like this makes me feel like a bad ass 😂😂😂

  • @marebear15 when I was pregnant with DD#2 there was an outbreak in lettuce, specifically romaine lettuce. I remember thinking no food was safe to eat anymore lol I was devastated because I legit was only eating salad for the first 30 weeks because it was all I could stomach

  • I am so disappointed to be missing a visit with my mom and sister to my aunt and uncle's that I took two personal days for. My son is sick with HFMD and now my husband is getting it too. I don't feel any symptoms so hopefully I don't get it, (or I had it before) but I made the call that I shouldn't go. I'm so sad because my uncle is in poor health and I'm worried I won't get to see him again, but I would feel even worse if I gave him (or any of them) HFMD.

My son has really bad eczema so it was hard to tell if he really got HFM, but he got a rash around his mouth and he had a fever on Monday and his daycare director told us it was going around. Ugh. All I can do to feel better is feel grateful he's been so sweet. When I was upset about missing my trip he just kept hugging me and saying it's okay.

I'm also grateful I got some medicated cream to calm his eczema down. I just wish he didn't hate it so much. We haven't been putting lotion on him that much because he hates it so much, but his eczema got so bad.
  • So I had my prenatal appointment yesterday. I'm 19 weeks but the doctor sent me for my glucose test immediately after my appointment. I've never had one done before third trimester before. Is it normal to get one done this early? I don't have a history of GD with any previous pregnancy

  • @mytrueloves hmmm. That's weird. They usually give you a heads up if they have a reason to send you early.

    Reasons are
    -history of GD
    -family history of diabetes
    -overweight
-measuring way ahead or have excess fluid levels
    -glucose in your urine
    -if you are having twins
-sometimes they will check early if you are considered an older mom as well

  • Oh @cheznet I’m so sorry about all of that! HFM is going around here too and we are praying we avoid it.
  • @nopegoat interesting. I don't have a history of GD, family history of diabetes, I'm under 30, not having twins, not measuring ahead, etc. I am overweight but I was also overweight for my previous pregnancies 🤔

@cheznet sorry to hear about the HFM. Hope it passes quickly 🤞🏻 I've heard it's spreading a lot this year but they're saying that about a lot of illnesses this year. It's kinda terrifying
