We had our first sonogram on Sept 14th and I was measuring at 10w 1day - which is right about my estimated time of 9w 5days. We are sticking with a April 14th due date! Heart rate was a solid 175! I’m over the moon excited - it’s my first pregnancy and I’m 35 years old. I froze my eggs a few years ago because I just didn’t know where life was taking me. Feeling thankful to have found my dream guy since then, get married and not have to use those eggs just yet!
This is our little one at 10w4d. Our first ultrasound with our OBGYN was very early. I was only 5w6d at the time, and the baby was just a blurry little dot on the screen. We won’t have another ultrasound in office for quite some time, so I opted for a private ultrasound today for reassurance. It was so comforting to hear the heartbeat and see it moving it’s arms and legs. We have genetic screening on the 26th, so I am trying to stay calm in the meantime.
My first transabdominal u/s was this week and this baby has LONG LEGS! Haha. H and I are both tall, so it's not a surprise that this bébé is leggy.

@acleverusername legs for days! Hot tip from another mom of a baby with long legs: footie pjs (or footie anything) will NOT be your friend. Kid will outgrow them faster than anything else. Stick with footless and socks!

Has anyone measured ahead at their first ultrasound appointment? I went in last Friday, when I thought I would be 8w2d based on my LMP, but my doctor re-dated me and said I was measuring at 9w4d. We saw a strong heartbeat at 173bpm, and my doctor didn’t seem concerned so I didn’t think to ask the question right then and there. Perhaps I ovulated way sooner than I thought I did, it just seems strange to be measuring 9 days ahead of what I expected. This is my first pregnancy, so I’m not sure if this is normal and appreciate anyone’s thoughts or advice!
Measuring two weeks behind what I calculated. I was thinking 8w3d, but measuring 6w1d. I can't remember when my last period was (too much going on, and the one time I didn't log it). I do know that I got a positive ovulation test on 8/6 and sex on 8/6 and 8/7. They didn't look for a heartbeat today. I got a blood draw, come back Thursday for another, and a new sonogram on Monday. I was so hoping to feel better after this but I'm more anxious. Waiting to see what the hcg levels look like. It's anyone more familiar with calculating able to make it make sense?

It is possible to have a LH surge and not ovulate, then another LH surge that results in ovulation later in the cycle. Fingers crossed for your follow up testing.

@iiirene thank you! I went back and read your post and it is reassuring to know that it can work out. I wasn't tracking BBT, I just randomly decided to take an ovulation test I found in the cabinet. Praying for the mental fortitude to keep going and stay positive!
@sambo0423 how long after the ovulation test did you test positive? I had a couple cycles where I had a false positive ovulation test before I actually did ovulate. If I hadn’t taken another ovulation test later on or followed my signs closely, I would have thought I ovulated way earlier!

@etnyah there was so much going on in my family late July-early August I wasn't tracking anything. I can't believe I got pregnant the one time I stopped paying attention!
the positive ovo test was 8/6, and several fast, dark, and clear positive hpts on 8/23. I took an hpt around 8/17 and thought I could maybe see a line, but ultimately put it out if my mind until later. Nausea hit around 8/20.
@sambo0423 sounds like it’s possible you ovulated later then! If you ovulated 8/6 it would have likely been a clear positive already at 8/17. And yeah, of course it happens the month you think it won’t. Fingers crossed that explains at least part of it and that baby keeps growing. I hope you get to see a heartbeat next time!

@etnyah I'm feeling more confident after factoring in 32 day cycles instead of 28- that would mean only a week off. And feeling really intense nausea. Still on pins and needles until Monday.
@sambo0423 increased nausea is great news! Lol, first tri is literally the only time I wish nausea on anyone. Completely understand your pins and needles though, fingers crossed for a great US Monday!

We are so excited that we got to see our Sprout on the 26th!! Measuring at 10w exactly l, which is ny estimated time too. hb 171 🥰 We told family and frie3this week too and it really felt so wonderful
NT scan today and everything looked great! Heartrate was 160 and measured exactly as it should. Baby was super active with flips, waves, and kicks. Can't wait until I can feel it!
Had our genetic screening ultrasound last week Friday (at 11w6d) and loved seeing the little babe moving around so much, though it feels strange to see that and not be able to feel it yet 😂
12 week ultrasound, first with my OB, was a success! I have been more nervous about this one than I was with #1 and #2, so I'm feeling relieved and giddy. Baby Shark is measuring 12w 5d, so ahead for once! Heart rate was 170, so all is good and we will tell the kids tomorrow.
@MsBeachNJ on our mantle, we have sonogram frames from each kids' ultrasound (#1 says love at first sight, #2 says coming soon), they know that those are pictures of them "in mommy's abdomen", so I'm thinking about showing them #3's (can't wait to meet you) to see if they figure it out. My husband almost told #1 on Monday, when he was rambling to her about how soon we'd have to get a car big enough to hold 3 car seats. Why do we need 3 car seats, Daddy? Lol, he covered by saying it's so she could have friends over, but I'm thinking she's suspicious.
I'm so jealous of all the US pics! I haven't gotten any actual pics because the hospital doesn't print them, and I'm too late for the NT scan, so likely I won't get any until the anatomy scan, unless MFM wants to do one before then. Only 6 more weeks of waiting 😬
But on the upside, my hubby got to hear baby today at our first official prenatal exam! First time they actually had success with the doppler!
We got a quick peek of the little one today! She was basically sitting “upright” with her legs crossed underneath her. Personally, it’s my favorite way to sit, so I think she’s taking after me already! Heart rate was 152.
We had an u/s with a new OB today (whom I LOVED) and we are having a giant baby. Lol. They were measuring 19w by head size and 16w by torso size. 🙈

FINALLY had my u/s! Its been almost 6 weeks since I've seen baby and/or heard confirmed h/b! All looked great at my NT scan, and I had my bloodwork taken for my NIPS... now the dreaded wait for those results... but the doctor was confident from the scan that there shouldn't be any concerns. Healthy h/r of 159 at 12+3.
Had my first trimester Ultrasound today at 13w0d 🤍 everything looked good + heartbeat was 168! We did NIPT testing today so we should know what we’re having in less than 2 weeks! Today made it feel way more real! I think I felt that way with my last pregnancy too! 😊
@scaredunprepared no chance of being further along since I know exactly when I ovulated (after 2.5 years of trying, it becomes kind of rote). My H and I are both above average height (I'm 5'8"; he's 6'1") so a tall baby isn't surprising. Plus we are aiming for a Nobel-prize laureate so a big brain is a good thing, right?

Saw babe today for a last minute ultrasound to ease my mind before we announced. He/ she was bouncing around and doing flips. I felt NOTHING. No kicks or jabs or even little flutters. Even as baby was "using the placenta as a punching bag" as the tech put it.
As a third time mom I really figured I would be able to feel something, especially those full body rolls. Maybe my uterus has become numb? Placenta isn't even anterior this time. So bizarre! It was wild seeing baby moving so much and not feeling a thing, almost like a dissociative experience, if that makes sense. I truly feel that if I hadn't been hospitalized for my gallbladder, I would have ended up on that show "I didn't know I was pregnant." I always thought those women were just nuts, because how could you not know? But now I get it!!! It's possible, and it's just so strange.

Has anyone measured ahead at their first ultrasound appointment? I went in last Friday, when I thought I would be 8w2d based on my LMP, but my doctor re-dated me and said I was measuring at 9w4d. We saw a strong heartbeat at 173bpm, and my doctor didn’t seem concerned so I didn’t think to ask the question right then and there. Perhaps I ovulated way sooner than I thought I did, it just seems strange to be measuring 9 days ahead of what I expected. This is my first pregnancy, so I’m not sure if this is normal and appreciate anyone’s thoughts or advice!

the positive ovo test was 8/6, and several fast, dark, and clear positive hpts on 8/23. I took an hpt around 8/17 and thought I could maybe see a line, but ultimately put it out if my mind until later. Nausea hit around 8/20.

12 week ultrasound, first with my OB, was a success! I have been more nervous about this one than I was with #1 and #2, so I'm feeling relieved and giddy. Baby Shark is measuring 12w 5d, so ahead for once! Heart rate was 170, so all is good and we will tell the kids tomorrow.
in awe over how much baby literally looks like a baby 😭 12 weeks 6 days already. time is flying and i can’t wait to see little babe again
But on the upside, my hubby got to hear baby today at our first official prenatal exam! First time they actually had success with the doppler!
