@scaredunprepared ugh I'm sorry you have to wait yet again to see what might be happening. I can only imagine the anxiety you must be feeling. I hope somehow this week manages to go by as quickly as possible! Big hugs.
Update: they were able to squeeze me in TOMORROW MORNING! It helps that my doctor called the scheduler on my behalf. It's at a different location much further away, but the drive is definitely worth it to have answers that much sooner. Please continue to send good vibes.
@etnyah and @acleverusername thank you!!! I am really trying to stay positive. Today got me in a bad headspace, but knowing we will have answers soon is really helping me feel better.
@scaredunprepared what a relief! I'm so glad your doc pulled some strings! Much better than having to wait until next week. Sending good vibes your way!
@scaredunprepared so sorry you didn’t get the best update, but so glad to see you are getting in for further testing today! That is so great that you won’t have to wait another week. I hope you get some more positive news today and will be thinking of you!
Had my AS tonight! The hospital recently upgraded their machines so it was neat to see such clear images of the spine, brain and all the little organs. Baby wasn't super cooperative so it took awhile to get a good profile pic (they had their little arm across their face most of the time). I kept feeling something on the left side which I assumed was baby, but baby was hanging out on the right--turns out they were little contractions which we could see on the ultrasound! Baby is measuring right on track and weighs ~13oz
FTM here! We had our anatomy scan on Thursday and got the results yesterday! Everything is completely normal and healthy, Everything is measuring as it should, all the parts and pieces are there, and he's definitely a boy (i knew he was a boy from the NIPT but its nice to get extra confirmation! 💙 ) He is measuring 3 days ahead (I'm 21w1d). I have an anterior placenta but it's high and out of the way of my cervix, so no issues with that for labor. And my cervix looks long and strong, which apparently means less chance of preterm labor. All in all, the best possible news we could've hoped for. 💕 They also gave us a video of him sucking his thumb in the ultrasound, which is just so great! Here is a picture of it.
Had my anatomy scan this morning, looks like we're having another little girl! I thought everything sounded and looked good but then at the end the tech made it a point to let us know we may need to go for another ultrasound and that she really can't interpret things herself... I had her do the ultrasound with my first and don't remember her saying that so it has me a bit nervous. Baby is breech so maybe thats why but my next check up is on Thursday with the do tor so hopefully I'll get some more info then
@maggied26 I'm sorry you have to deal with the worry until your next visit. I hope everything is healthy with baby girl, and the doc will put your mind at ease! 🤞🤞
@maggied26 I’m sorry you got something to worry about! It’s weird that the tech was the same but interpreted last time but not this time. Maybe it’s just a change in rules? Techs are not supposed to interpret. In our case, ours says “it looks good to me but I need to check with the doctor and she might want to come in and talk with you afterward.”
@t2dancer hooray for a “boring” pregnancy and a sweet boy for you. Are you feeling him move with the anterior placenta? I started feeling movement at 21+3 but now they’re constant.
@acleverusername I've been racking my brain trying to figure out if there was a point that she got quiet or anything lol. She never really interpreted anything, she basically just said what we were looking at for each part of the scan. It was more the way she phrased her statement than anything that freaked me out because she basically was like "I'm just a tech and can't interpret anything this needs to be viewed by the doctor. There's a possibility you may have to go for a follow up scan or possibly meet with MFM for a follow up if that's how the doctor interprets these results". I just can't help but think she must've seen something to bring something like that up
@maggied26 hopefully everything is okay! Was she young or maybe inexperienced? It could be that she just says that to everyone because technically it’s true, but it’s definitely not a reassuring message to get! With my first, the tech barely said anything that would indicate if things looked good or not, just that she got clear images of everything (eventually) and that the doctor would contact us with results. This time, I had a really experienced and chatty tech who said “everything looks perfect to me, the doctor will probably just send you a message saying that too in a day or two”.
Hopefully you’ll get answers from your doctor asap anyway, it’s no fun going around worrying and waiting for answers!

My tech had a doozy of a time getting images of this little one. She was "folded up like a chair" with her legs and her arms up over her head the whole time. 😂 Everything looks good though! All parts present and accounted for! Measuring right where she should be. So thankful every time I get good news at these milestones. Only bad news ... I have to take the glucose test now (had GD with my first) and definitely not looking forward to the finger pricks and shots this early the second time around.
@beaniebaking glad all looks good! I have to do my glucose test right after Christmas. I did my early test about 18 weeks and was negative so hopefully I stay that way! Good luck on yours. When will you have your results?
Anatomy scan day! Babe was totally uncooperative and I have to go back in 2 weeks to get pics of all the things they missed, but here is the best shot we got! They said everything they could see "looks beautiful" so that is reassuring. They also scheduled me for growth scans every 4 weeks (yay being old) lol so I currently have all my hospital scans booked out through end of March - which is crazy! Baby hb was 145 and they spent most of the time on their tummy tucked up not wanting to cooperate. When baby did roll over, they'd cross their legs or throw their arms over their face making things difficult for the tech.... seems like they will fit right in with our other 2 kids that have minds of their own
@scaredunprepared Did you have GD before? I'll do the 1 hour test today, results back tomorrow likely. My GD with my first was a raging case, I was doing finger pricks 5 times daily and 4 daily insulin injections, by the end of my pregnancy the insulin doses were so large they hurt like a mother. I just couldn't get my blood sugar under control. But she was perfectly sized and healthy and it cleared up right away after I delivered. Ugh the needles though.... Fingers crossed I don't get it again or it is more manageable.
@scaredunprepared Totally failed it, came back 154 when it shouldn't have been over 135. I'm doing the 3-hour test this weekend, but expect to fail that miserably also. Looks like I have all the needles and pricks in my future again sooner than expected. 😭
Had my AS the other day 20w2d. He seems to be doing great! Only raised my eyebrow when she said he was approximately 13 oz. That seems big for this stage. Anyone else have that forecast??
He was folded 'like a taco' as the tech put it but I got to see him do a nice long stretch!!
@msmarypiie I had my AS at 20w1d and baby was also measuring 13 oz. They said baby was right on track, so I'm assuming that the weight was right in the "average" range.
I had my AS last Thursday and little babe had a clean bill of health. To our surprise, we found out we’re having a little boy! 💙 My husband and I and a lot of our family were convinced it was a girl with how sick I was that first trimester.
This past weekend we had a mini gender reveal party with close family and friends and got to surprise everyone! Has anyone else adjusted their baby name list since their US? We got rid of 1/2 of our boy list and now only have 4 contenders haha!
Had my 20w AS and this is the best image. I know that's not what it's for but I'm a little sad I don't have a nice keepsake. But on a more serious note, is anyone else transverse? The US tech said baby B is looking down at my feet so belly towards the ground and apparently that position is not very common? I've freaked myself out with Google so I'll be bringing it up at my 22w appt tomorrow
@babybmom0421 we don't usually get great picx either, so I get it. As for being transverse, my baby has been in just about every possible position lol. It's early, baby will move a million times between now and April. Try not to let that worry you that they weren't in an optimal position this time.
@babybmom0421 my little fella is also transverse. He flipped twice during my anatomy scan alone. Don’t worry, they still have lots of room to change position.
