@etnyah thanks you. That does help to know that thank you!!!  - yes I have it set for Wednesday afternoon. Holding my breathe till then. My husband is very optimistic and is trying to bring some humor to it . He goes all you’ve done this afternoon is cry and you’re a hormonal mess so this must mean everything is ok bc in the 10 years we’ve been together this is the 3rd time I’ve seen you cry. Very blessed to have a hubby who is supportive and wanting to lift me up.

@taty33 that’s great, both about a supportive husband and a scan so soon! Hopefully they’ll have a better idea of what’s going on then. And I hope you can keep yourself busy meanwhile. Seriously, no weeks go by slower than in the first trimester, and especially when you’re worried and in limbo. I’ll cross my fingers you get to see a heartbeat on Wednesday!

@taty33 when I was pregnant with my son I went to my first appointment thinking I was 8 weeks and they said he was measuring at 6 weeks. My doctor also didn’t say much else or order any blood work or anything. Just made an appointment for two weeks later. I went home and cried for a long time. It was absolutely impossible that I had conceived on/around that date. It turns out I had ovulated a week later but that still left my baby behind by a week. By 12 weeks he had caught up to the size he should have been according to when I actually ovulated. I hope your situation turns out similar to mine and that you find something to keep you occupied while you wait.

@acleverusername my last period started July 3rd. We tried on July 11,15,16,18 my ovulation window was 13-18(I think) and based off my discharge and the cystic acne I get right after I ovulate, I ovulated on July 14th. 

I counted back 6 weeks from yesterday and that is the 14th. 

Positive test was July 27th very faint but dark each day after. 

What doesn’t add up is the HCG on Aug 10 saying 4k (5/6 weeks) which is exactly where I should have been from Last period. 

Then to have baby measuring at 6 weeks on 8/25 when I should be 7w 4 d 
also not hearing a heart beat was really rough.

@iiirene thank you for sharing that and that gives me some hope - all I do is cry and it’s tough - I’m working my busiest time of the year so that helps me keep my mind busy. I also noticed spotting after doing some heavy lifting at work so I’ve asked my boss to get a pass on that until I get to see my doctor bc I really am confused right now

@taty33 I don't have any personal positive experience but @iiirene has already shared hers. I do have negative experience, but I don't want to make you more worried than you already are. Every case is different. I want to dish out toxic positivity / dismiss your concerns because it's absolutely legitimate for you to be worried. Worry is a bracing / coping mechanism. Try and take care of yourself in these next few days/week as you wait to get more information. Sending you all the hugs of support.

went for bloodwork on 7/15 and the office called to say i was ovulating. we are pregnant but i’m measuring a couple days ahead. is that ok?

Had my dating/check if alive u/s today. All is well! Heartbeat was 175 and fetus (nicknamed "ocean") was wiggling around the whole time with it's little arms and legs. Makes me more confident since we hadn't made it this far the last 2 times, but not getting my hopes up either.

Well I was hopeful today to be able to share great news. But I find myself extremely stressed instead. I went in today for an ultrasound and we’re supposed to be measuring seven weeks three days. The baby is measuring six weeks 2 days. The doctor said the sack looks good and the heartbeat was 123 which was expected for the six week range however I’m fairly certain of my dates and don’t understand how I could be a week behind.

(TW) The last time this happened we experienced a loss although I was also bleeding at that time, but I am very stressed that we could be going down this road again.

I go back again on Tuesday for another date and ultrasound. 

Anyone have a history of this happening that can share some insight?

I had a confirmation u/s about a week and a half ago and it took about 45 min for them to measure the heartbeat and a lot of blurry pictures, I even did a vaginal u/s and that gave even worse images. They measured once and I was a few days behind what I should have been (this was not at my doctors but a pregnancy resource center before I found a doctors office). My doctors office can’t see me until 9/14 and it wouldn’t be an u/s so I went to a boutique u/s place today because I was just feeling very anxious. I got much clearer pictures and a more accurate due date (just 1 day ahead of where I thought it should be) and they easily measured the heart rate at 163. I feel so much better, I am 9w5d and finally starting to have relief from my severe “morning” sickness. I’m so ready for 12 weeks so I can start sharing with my friends and family!

@yelaklu13 that definitely looks like a baby! So exciting! I'm glad you were able to find a private place to get your confirmation scan to help with the anxiety. You gotta use whatever tools you've got to stay sane. Also, if you're 9w5d today, then we're EDD twins! (4/2, right?)

My OBGYN appointment isn’t until 11 weeks and ultrasound until 12, so I went to a private ultrasound clinic to ease my anxiety and I am so glad I did! 9w5d and looks right on track for EDD 4/3/23! We didn’t hear the heartbeat but we could see the little one moving around and the cardiac motion. I cannot wait till we have our next one and are out of the first trimester to share the news with our families. It’s getting harder to keep a secret!

Hi all -  I hope I can post this here an apologies if it should go somewhere else. This is my first and I’m incredibly anxious about how my experience is going with some early ultrasounds and curious to know if anyone has had any similar situation?; 

- I went for an early first US at 5w6d - there was no heartbeat seen yet, but the gestational sac and yolk sac measured 5w3d. They saw a very tiny fetal pole.

- I went for a follow up US at 7w0d. There was still no heartbeat, but seemingly the start of a tiny embryo and they THINK a heart beat but said too early to tell. Everything measured 6 weeks - 1 week behind. But was really expecting to see a heartbeat. 

- Based on labs HcG is over 17,300 and progesterone is 18.31 (not as high as I’d like). Doctor said this aligns with US measuring at 6w - but I think both are low?

I have to go back for a third US next week, where I will be 8w2d based on LMP.  My cycles are very regular at 28 days. My fear is I am not progressing as I should be and am thinking the worst is happening. Has anyone been in a similar situation before and gone on to hear a strong heartbeat and have a healthy baby?

@emm1013 you may want to post in Pregnancy After Loss Safe Space or in the ***TW** Spotting/Bleeding/Threatened MC Thread. 

You could have ovulated late, because whilst your cycles are normal, sometimes you get an irregular cycle so who knows. But IMHO, you're right to be concerned. I know you want to hear success stories, but I don't believe in spreading toxic positivity. Better to be prepared for the worst.

Hi @taty33 - our days are exactly the same as far as last period positive test etc. I had a very early loss the cycle right before this one and the stress is so overwhelming. Thankfully everything I’d good with my little bean so far. I hope you are okay and all is well! Wishing you all the best ❤️

Had a great follow up ultrasound today! Still a week behind what I should be based on my LMP but I must have ovulated late, baby has shown a weeks worth of growth since last Tuesday's scan, now measuring 7 weeks 2 days and a strong heartbeat of 151 Feeling much more optimistic!

First ultrasound today! 7w6d today. Sooooo nervous and just want everything to look good and right on track.

I had some issues last year that all started with that first ultrasound that I won't get too deep into here, but let's just say it all left me with some PTSD. Fingers crossed and praying this pregnancy starts out on the right note. Will post results later 🤞

@etnyah woo! Definitely a baby! I think the anxiety bit is very personal. I'm waiting for my NIPT results given our previous loss history with genetic factors. But if you don't have that baggage, I think it's fair to breathe a sigh of relief!

@acleverusername oh yeah reassuring genetic tests would be good too! I got a referral to a genetic counselor, they’ll call me later today and tomorrow to set up an appt. NIPT doesn’t test for the disability my son has that makes me higher risk, so we’ll have to figure out something else. That specific anxiety won’t go away until I have a definite answer (late in pregnancy/possibly after birth), but my general “is this a viable pregnancy” anxiety is definitely eased!

We done ultrasound measuring 9 w 5 days so pushed my due date back two days. I’ll be thrilled when all the noninvasive testing is over but seeing how it grew felt like a huge win

Finally had my ultrasound today. The little nugget was really moving all over and a good strong heart beat of 165. Definitely a relief!

Got my 11w done yesterday. My mom is guessing its a boy based on the top pic but I thought external genitals wouldnt show for another week?!? Anyone have any insight? Im waiting on my NIPT results but would love to have opinions!

Had my first ultrasound today!! Measuring at 9w1d, so about 10 days behind what we thought my EDD was based on LMP. They changed my due date to 4/19 so maybe I'll be sharing my bday with the new baby! Heartrate was ~180bpm and everything looked good 🥰
