I hope this doesn't sound snobby but I think my last int'l flight was to Japan in 2015 when I flew business class to/from Japan (via Vancouver) as part of an official delegation. All our other trips since then have been domestic or within North America so nothing really exciting there. @bearmomma1 that glimmer of hope is so annoying, but so necessary. My H has been wanting to book a trip in October/November, but I have a serious fear of flying and cannot fly without alcohol and/or anxiety meds. The prospect of possibly hopefully being pregnant at any time in the future has seriously limited our booking travel.

I heard back from my ultrasound - 3 follicles, 17mm, 11mm and 11mm. Will trigger tomorrow night and have IUI Sunday morning. Kinda bummed that the two are so small. Was hoping to get a few good chances this round.
Surprisingly, I was so scatterbrained I didn’t get the other drivers info, but I did call the police, so hopefully all of that info will be available on the police report. Mostly I hope I can figure out how to stop the “door open” dinging while I drive, and that my battery doesn’t get drained because of the alert, and that no one steals anything out of my car since I can’t lock it! 😑😑 grateful that it’s just an annoyance, but it sure is annoying!!
I’m jealous of all of y’all’s travel! All my trips have gotten cancelled for the past two years either for COVID or surgeries - one mine and one my sisters. I’m hoping to plan a small trip once I get pregnant and past the first trimester. Haven’t decided where yet!
just a quick note to say @rockstarmomma152 that everyone is different in terms of what size follicles need to be before they're mature. you've got a full day for them to grow, and then they may grow more before trigger. i'd say there are reasonable, albeit not totally solid odds that the small ones will be mature by ovulation.

PGT-A results all abnormal. Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow. Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal. Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP. May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy. July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen. Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized. From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos! @rockstarmomma152 omg I missed your comment! I am so glad you are ok, but also probably shaken up (insurance agent here!). Car accidents tend to feel a little crappier in the soreness dept the next day, ibuprofen is your friend assuming that isn’t a no no pre IUI (not the expert on that!). I also 100% support a treat yourself trip! We had to cancel 3 trips in 2020, it was so depressing. But once I got vaxed I felt confident getting back on a plane in 2021.
@bearmomma1 I’m sorry for that weird limbo you’re sitting in. Big hug. Also, I don’t personally have flying anxiety but my bff does. I wonder if some acupuncture might help? It helped my mom get over her fear of driving over bridges!! I know that’s a lot shorter of an event than a flight.

The Big Island is really cool, I’ve been twice, once as an elementary age kid and then again in my 20s. It’s wild to see the landscape change with the eruptions. We have camcorder tape from when I was a kid walking around the crater way closer than you can now.

I don't really do my makeup on the regular and since I am not working at the moment I rarely wear something other than leggings and an athletic top. TBH I always feel my best when I am in costume and stage makeup. A few years ago I was in a production of "A Christmas Carol" and for one of the party scenes I had this gorgeous green empire waist dress, pearl jewelry and sprigs of holly in my hair. I also love when I have to wear 1940s style hats for a show. I am weird. 😆

@bearmomma1 TTC-travel math is such a mind f***, it's hard enough to try to find a good window to book something, never mind wondering/worrying about medications, etc. We've been playing that game for a long, long time too. @rockstarmomma152 we've cancelled a lot of trips these past 2 years too, this is our leap of faith to actually get back into it. I'm still more than a little nervous but confident enough that we've managed to dodge C19 for 2+ years now so we can't hide in our house forever. // Good luck with your IUI, I hope you've got a nice juicy egg in that bigger follicle, and maybe a slight chance of those little ones finding some last-minute energy to mature in time. @mambo5-2 Hope everything went well this morning! // I've been to Oahu about 2 dozen times but my last trip (my honeymoon, actually) was my first time actually going inside the Palace. I can talk restaurants all day long - Merriman's is incredible if you're looking for a nice date night. Reservations required, it's one of the more upscale eateries on the island. Fond Maui is this cool little neighbourhood eatery that we discovered and they had awesome food. Cafe O'Lei in Kihei was actually a recommendation from our friend @keikilove and I still dream of that meal to this day. Paia Fish Market has a couple locations, we stopped at the one off the Road to Hana. Good food, huge portions, very busy but casual vibe where you order at the counter then sit family-style at indoor picnic tables.
@emeraldduchess ah yes, my in-laws (both MIL/BIL/SIL) did/do the same with photos. Then I'm the one that is made out to be the monster when I'm not like goo-goo-ga-ga over him. Glad to have you back here friend!
AF is toying with me. I stopped all my meds as of Monday night so she should be here by now but I'm sure she's waiting until I'm safely stuck in traffic trying to cross the border en route to Rochester tonight and in the meantime my uterus feels like it's trying to squeeze the last drop of toothpaste out of the tube.

@acleverusername yeah, that was rough. I think at the time they were just SO over-the-moon happy that the didn't realize it was hurtful to us. *TW* loss/LC
SIL also had a loss before our nephew, so I think their intention was for us to think about our own rainbow baby. Like, "See?? You'll have one too, soon!"
DH finally told FIL that he needed to stop because it was making me cry. They apologized, but I don't think they will ever fully understand why it was so upsetting.
@kiki047 yeah, I definitely felt like a jerk for a while because I would get visibly upset and/or leave the room whenever they went on and on about him.

*lurking* @kiki047 DH and I went to the big island in February and LOVED it! We stayed in Kailua-Kona most of our trip but took an all-day tour to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on our last day. I can recommend the tour group and Kailua-Kona restaurants if you want.
@mambo5-2 FX for a good fertilization report! Get some rest girly. @emeraldduchess Good for DH for standing up for you. MH would never, not to his parents. SIL used to try to relate to me by talking about their "struggle", which I gather wasn't anything at all other than it taking longer than she thought it would. As the years have gone on and as we've had loss after loss or just plain RIF, she's smartened up a lot. I know she does her research on what not to say/do, or at least I can feel her trying and it helps. @hestia-is-wearie Yes, please send me a PM with any recommendations if you had a good experience. We're staying on the Hilo side, but are flying in/out of Kona and will have a car so we'll be all over the island while we're there.
Update: There is a hint of a whisper of AF, so she's not far off.

I am doing this on my own. Left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and tube still purport to function.

Mar-Jun '19 IUIs, all BFN
Began process of referral for RE in spring of '19, blood tests confirm low AMH (.54) but all else is good.
May '19 HSG shows open tube, but ultrasound suggests fibroids
MRI in June '19 confirms two large fibroids, one growing through wall of uterus
In June '19 I move from California to Oregon, disrupting my insurance, referrals, etc. 5 months spent piecing it all back together.
Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.
April '20 --> June '20, natural IUIs, all BFN.
July? saline ultrasound and bubble test demonstrate open tube
July '20 clomid cycle cancelled for thin lining
Aug-Oct, 3 femara cycles, all BFN
RE referral. While waiting to set up an appointment Nov-Jan,I continue with natural cycles and ICI, using a known donor, BFN...
Jan '21 more bloodwork, AMH is worse (.30), FSH high albeit not catastrophic at 13.2. hysteroscopy all good. "looks cozy!" says the RE.

Mar '21, injectables, iui cancelled due to lack of follicles, converted to at home-insem. BFN

July '21 IVF: standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 7; 6 days of stims. 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilize, 4 made it to blast. 3 are 4AB, 1 is 4BB. PGT-A results all abnormal. Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow. Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal. Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP. May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy. July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen. I am regretting deciding to stay in Atlanta between midcycle US and IUI. I think I thought I would miss the city more and be glad to be back and want to cram in lots of seeing friends and eating out, but I would just rather be home! Hopefully this is the last trip up, but I think if there is a next time I’ll just do the 7 hour round trip in a day two times rather than stay up here for 3.5 days. I like road trips way more than sitting bored in a hotel.
@rockstarmomma152 i feel you on trying to figure out how to do long round trip stuff with a distant clinic. my clinic is about 3 hours away and when you do ivf there are a lot of monitoring trips. this last cycle i literally couldn't do them because it was the middle of term and i teach everyday. so they had me do my monitoring at a local clinic in my little semi-rural valley. it was fine, and the little clinic managed to send the appropriate information to my doctor, but i wound up feeling really disconnected from the process because the local u/s clinic is really uncommunicative. i felt like i had to fight hard even for just basic information about how i was progressing. this next round i'll be able to take the time to drive up for monitoring at the clinic and even though i am not at all jazzed about the driving and the cost of gas to do so, i am happy to have my RE's perspective on things as i go.

@kiki047 I will say that both our families have been very good about not trying to relate to us or give us unsolicited advice. We occasionally get the, "my college roommate's sister's friend's hair stylist's daughter went through IVF and then had spontaneous twins" BS story. Like, great, glad that's THEIR experience but that's not the norm and it's not helpful.

@optimistgardener - Yes, they also suggested I could get the monitoring done at a local office, but the doctor I’ll use down there said they couldn’t get the info up to my doc in a timely manner, and suggested I could use the hospital. It made me more nervous, and I definitely prefer to come up here to my RE I’ve been working with! So, it’s a pain in the ass that I’m definitely choosing! ☺️

@optimistgardener I heard the healing time would be about the same, 3 months before I'd be allowed to transfer again. But depending on what they find it does sound like that's an appropriate amount of time to need to recuperate, as excruciating as the wait may be.
@mambo5-2 in case I don't get a chance to say it later, good luck tomorrow darling! I hope everything goes well and you're not in too much discomfort after. Try to take it easy, listen to your body, drink lots of gatorade. Oh, and take a stool softener after your retrieval if you can.

I'm still more than a little nervous but confident enough that we've managed to dodge C19 for 2+ years now so we can't hide in our house forever. // Good luck with your IUI, I hope you've got a nice juicy egg in that bigger follicle, and maybe a slight chance of those little ones finding some last-minute energy to mature in time.
@mambo5-2 Hope everything went well this morning! // I've been to Oahu about 2 dozen times but my last trip (my honeymoon, actually) was my first time actually going inside the Palace. You're right, it was amazing!! This time I'd like to check out the Bishop Museum, but I need to book our tickets soon and the couple we're going with hasn't done a single thing (literally nothing, I booked all our accommodations, flights, rental car, etc) so at this rate I'm just going to book it and drag them along.

@mambo5-2 FX for good news on fertilization! How are you feeling?
@kiki047 DH and I went to the big island in February and LOVED it! We stayed in Kailua-Kona most of our trip but took an all-day tour to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on our last day. I can recommend the tour group and Kailua-Kona restaurants if you want.
@emeraldduchess Good for DH for standing up for you. MH would never, not to his parents. SIL used to try to relate to me by talking about their "struggle", which I gather wasn't anything at all other than it taking longer than she thought it would. As the years have gone on and as we've had loss after loss or just plain RIF, she's smartened up a lot. I know she does her research on what not to say/do, or at least I can feel her trying and it helps.
@hestia-is-wearie Yes, please send me a PM with any recommendations if you had a good experience. We're staying on the Hilo side, but are flying in/out of Kona and will have a car so we'll be all over the island while we're there.
Update: There is a hint of a whisper of AF, so she's not far off.

Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP.
May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.
July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen.
Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized.
From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos!
