@knottie9ede9e6baf1e395a I am the exact same way. It makes the evenings hard though because I am usually so tired. (Would you be able to change your username so that it is a little easier to tag you? Thank you!)
@knottie506c064bcef8e209 I have had a lot of luck with the acure products. My acne is not pregnancy related, but a reaction to a vaccine/ being outside SO MUCH because of covid. I taught fully outdoors for most of last year. I discovered that I actually need to moisturize so much more than I thought. (Would you be able to change your username so that it is a little easier to tag you? Thank you!)
@sejica the fact that they go off of LMP is absolutely maddening. I was tracking and know I O late (almost to the point of LP defect) but my son they still went off of the LMP. My daughter and this one, thankfully, I was seen at the MC clinic where they gave me my due date based off of baby measurements not LMP. But then that let me know that my babies might like to come earlier (I was in labor when I went in for my scheduled c section at 38.5 lol)

@mflowers929 I just tell them an lmp that's 2 weeks before I ovulated, plus or minus a day so my "due date" matches the baby and is on a convenient day of the week for a rcs.
I actually ovulate early, but I'm frustrated because I'm measuring 3 days ahead than what my lmp indicates BUT "we're still going to keep the original due date" 🙄 Just give me those 3 dang days!! I cannot be the only one who is checking off the days left in this miserable trimester.
Could we start the ultrasound thread? I know a lot of people are getting their scans and I love to see them. I will live vicariously through them, my first appointment isn’t until 4/28 and I’m high risk for multiple factors
I had "morning sickness" my whole pregnancy with my first. The only thing that stopped the constant sickness was consistently snacking so my stomach was full (unsalted no butter popcorn) and unisom that my doctor prescribed to me. When the nausea was really bad gingerale was too sweet didn't matter what kind it was. Pregnancy nausea is another level, so I guess what I am trying to say is do what is right for you to get you through the "morning sickness"
Hello super new here so I am not sure if I am doing this right, but I do have a question. Has anyone done at home water birth? If so what was your experience?
I have been working with my ND on this since pre pregnancy. Some things I needed to stop since becoming pregnant but found relieving constipation (to remove excess hormones and toxins) and loves of liver supporting foods (beets, dark leafy greens, bitter greens, raw carrots, dandelion root tea etc) have really helped keep it away.
I wish I could send ya'll a case of a local brand of gingerale. It's so so much more gingery than any other brand I've come across and is SO good. My parents are full time in their motorhome and always pack up as many cases as they can before they leave for the winter

No, but I know someone who did. She loves it. Bought her own pool for it and everything.
I thought I wanted a water birth, and I labored in the tub at my OOH birth center, but I ended up disliking it. Too cramped, and I don’t like sitting down/reclining. I need something under my feet.
@chuckle_sandwich it's been helping me, but just fyi I bought both off amazon because target (at least the ones near me) doesn't carry b6 as its own thing. I still get a bit of breakthrough nausea, but it's more the kind that sits in my throat than the stomach clenching kind from before, if that makes sense.
@fantasyflyte Thank you! I’ll probably order online. Desperately need some relief, even just a little. With two kiddos and homeschooling I’m an ill zombie and haven’t been able to put in a good effort on their lessons.
@mflowers929 share the brand! I wonder if folks can find it on Amazon or online somewhere.
It's Sussex brand, but I just did a check and I can't find it. Maybe someone else is more savvy than me lol. It's produced by Pepsi, but it's suuuuper regional as far as I can tell. Like Atlantic Canada and the Eastern half of Quebec (which is not a huge amount of people lol)

@chuckle_sandwich 100% yes. I couldn't sit up in bed without tossing my cookies. I couldn't even hold down water. The doctors ended up giving me all kinds of stuff but in the end it was unisom that helped. My doctor had me get the one with Doxylamine. I had morning sickness my whole pregnancy, but as long as I took unisom at night I was OK. If I forgot then it took me 3 days to recover. I would most definitely double check with your doctor before buying it though.

@chuckle_sandwich oh I’m very curious about balancing homeschool with pregnancy. This is going to be our second child (my first is 1.5). We have always wanted 4 kids, but honestly I forgot how hardcore I get morning sickness. I mean like completely wipes me out, I’m on bed rest type morning sickness. Can’t even drink water without instantly puking. They prescribed me zofran, but after further research I feel really uncomfortable taking it. Anyway, my question for you is…how do you balance having big responsibilities like home school while being pretty much unable to do anything? We’re strong born-again believers and I absolutely plan on homeschooling, but like I said, Idk how I can do that during pregnancy. Like, I don’t even feel safe being alone with my son because I pass out from being so sick and dizzy…fortunately my husbands had a lot of paid time off
@chuckle_sandwich Unisom has been my saving grace. Nothing else has helped so far. I take half a pill every 6ish hours because my “morning” sickness has been all day/night. Hope you get some much needed relief!
@motherofahobbit My midwife suggested it 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my son in case it got too bad, but I never had to resort to it. This time however, I feel a lot more pukey all the time.
@knottieb78d750e3dd941db Luckily my kids are young (preschool & 1st grade). So I keep lessons really simple and have a curriculum that is open and go. I don’t have to prepare anything. We have missed a few days lately but that’s the beauty of homeschooling, we can make up for it easily. I also plan to extend out and do year round with intermittent breaks throughout the year (no extended summer break keeps all they’ve learned in their heads and we don’t have to review). As they get older they are more independent which is a bonus! Since my daughter can read I can write her assignments down and star the ones she can do on her own so she can work without me while I work with my son. *you may want to change your username from being a “knottie.” easier to find and get to know you!
Re: homeschooling - I've also heard of some homeschoolers who normally use a curriculum go to unschooling (aka child led learning - allowing the child to explore their interests) during times when they're not able to pull together lessons. We're going to be fully unschooling since that matches up with how we feel, but I think it can also be a useful tool sometimes for parents who normally choose to follow a curriculum more closely.

@mflowers929 Yes! We only do math and language arts as a planned curriculum. The rest is all based on play and their interests. If my kids all of a sudden are interested in what birds are outside in our yard then we we pull out the bird almanac and we find them and draw pictures, etc. Maybe the next week they are curious about rocks they’ve collected, so we get a rocks and minerals book. The library becomes your best resource!

I have normalized in my mind that a miscarriage is always possible, especially all that I’ve read, but I’m looking for some encouragement for people who have had a successful pregnancy. We got pregnant within the first month of trying, so I have no indication that I should be concerned but of course always am!
One of the best advice my doctor told me with my first is, "Limit your pregnancy research time to 10 minutes a day, no more. If you don't you will always find the worst and always be worried." It totally helped. The less horrifying stories I read the more I started trusting my body that it knew what it was doing. Bad things can happen but it is not healthy for you or your baby to stress out about it. Enjoy being pregnant unless something truly alarming does arise, then you can worry.
@motherofahobbit unless you're a weirdo like me and doing mountains of research and looking at numbers actually calms you down XD I blame my medical background

@motherofahobbit My midwife delivers at the hospital. Gives me the peace of mind of being in a place where if complications occur there is backup and resources readily available.
Homeschooling - most people I know plan in time for skipped days or weeks around the birth or as needed. Starting earlier, Saturday school, extending into the summer, shortening holiday breaks, etc.
OOH vs. hospital. I’ve only had OOH births, but everyone I know who’s had both strongly prefers OOH.
@motherofahobbitMy husband has “We’re pregnant. The first time dad’s pregnancy handbook” by Adrian Kilo. It explains what we’re experiencing and ideas for how they can provide support.
Hey! First time pregnant took 3 years and finally conceived by iui. But because my hcg didn't rise as fast as they wanted they sent me for an early ultrasound on what they thought was my week 6. However all they saw was the sac and said I was measuring 5 weeks and 3 days. Is this normal even though we did iui?

If it was exactly week 6 and you're measuring 5w3d I wouldn't worry too much. They're so small at that age that measuring them can be difficult, and clicking a tiny bit further up or down on the screen can change the dating by a lot. It can also depend on when the fetus actually implanted into the uterine wall. I assume they booked a follow up ultrasound for you, so try to take it easy and remember that for today you're pregnant

@wish95 big big hugs! Even with iui, implantation can vary up to 5 days, I think, so it’s totally possible to be off by a little bit! Fingers crossed for you! When is the follow up ultrasound?
Anyone wake up every night with extreme hunger most nights? I can’t sleep and wake up at 2 Am and can’t sleep unless I eat. I have been trying to eat later or snack before bed but sometimes I’m just not feeling like eating. I just want to sleep through the night, I’m so tired!
@advancedmaternalrage when I was pregnant with my son I used to stash a granola bar under my pillow to snack on in the middle of the night because of that lol

Can’t stomach ginger stuff and peppermint isn’t helping either.
It’s a 60 mile drive to town to the store so I can’t just zip to Target and get some like most people.
