Re: February Symptoms Thread

  • Oh my goodness, every time DH shifts in the bed my nausea gets worse. He either needs to lay perfectly still (unfair of me lol) or I might have to go sleep on the couch.

  • Yeah, I really jinxed myself. I thought this pregnancy was going to be like my last one and I was gonna have no nausea. WRONG! It is fairly mild but now almost constant. I haven't been able to finish a meal. I'll be so satisfied and happy and then WHAM! one bite to many!🤢
  • I’m having the worst time with feeling nausea throughout the entire day and struggling to keep anything down. My dr recommended I take a b6 vitamin and unisome. I’m hoping this helps but I  so far no luck. I have my first appointment on 2-11 and can’t wait!
  • Hi @rubychazz and welcome!  Please stop by the introductions thread and introduce yourself!

Have you tried taking a half unisom and 25mg of B6 before bed? My nausea was really bad overnight before I started that.

I am 7+4 today - I have been having waves of exhaustion and I am so so incredibly thirsty that thinking of eating crackers or anything dry and salty is no for me! I have been craving grapes like crazy!
and I have also been dealing with itchy nipples for weeks lol! I do not remember this itchy nipple thing with my first 2!

Hi fellow moms! 8w4d here. I have SO. MUCH. GAS. It’s unreal. I eat things and feel like they just -sit there- producing gas for several hours. Doesn’t matter what it is (ok, some foods are definitely worse than others. Looking at you, milk and ice cream). Even crackers. I just burp (into my N95) and pass gas all day long. And every time I do, I feel simultaneously happy but also gross. I should be grateful I am not throwing up - and believe me, I am. But I feel like I already need maternity clothes because my big gassy belly makes everything tight already and makes me want to rub my belly at work which has definitely earned me some questioning looks lol. Last pregnancy, which ended in missed miscarriage, my nausea suddenly stopped around 8w0d, and I thought I was just lucky but it turned out the baby had passed. So, I’m glad to be having some symptoms. Oh, and my boobs have already grown two cup sizes. I have to special order bras in size 65L from a company called Comexim in Poland (roughly US 30J, which you probably didn’t even know was a thing) lol. They are so heavy already, I’m worried how big they will get… Feeling blessed to be at this point, though!
  • Also I’m errie28. I updated the username but it keeps posting as this default name…
  • I’ve been sneaking out of bed at night sometimes to go to the guest room. I tell hubby it’s because of indigestion, but sometimes I just want my own space! Lol
  • @knottiee79b3bbbf6859f33 Try signing out and then back in; that works for a lot of people. Also, you can take Gas-X to help with the gas. Totally safe and works like a dream. I've been using it this time, but last time it was a MUST for me to stay comfortable.

Has anyone had trouble sleeping? I can fall asleep easily, but it's the staying asleep I have trouble with. I constantly wake up and toss/turn...other than just needing to pee or being thirsty. My papers from my doctor say I can take Dramamine, Tylenol PM, Unisom, Melatonin, or Benadryl. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with any of these. Melatonin doesn't keep me asleep, just helps me settle down, so that's not gonna work.
  • Interesting, I was told *not* to take melatonin.  Benadryl I use regularly and it definitely helps.

  • very queasy today.  not like barfy queasy but my stomach feels....anxious?  But I'm not anxious.  It's annoying.  I want to take a nap, but I'm in a training.  Boo.

@whitta1015 Unisom is fairly gentle. If I need help sleeping, I take one no more than 30 minutes before I want to be asleep. It will NOT put you to sleep, but it does help keep you asleep, if that makes sense. If you don't go to bed right away, you'll honestly lose your shot at it doing its job.

  • @whitta1015 The insomnia is real. Lately, I’ve been using the bathroom around 4 AM and then will just lie back in bed like, “Well, now what?” I also regularly wake up middle of the night starving. I try to just fall back asleep, but sometimes I need emergency bedroom crackers.

  • @elle-0409 I have a big container of animal crackers by my bed for this exact reason. It does help a bit, but I still get woken up by the hunger, too
  • Had my first bout with round ligament pains (I think - sounds like what I was experiencing) last night at 2-4 am. That was fun. 🙄 now I’m on high alert and anxious in case it wasn’t… ugh, can the second tri get here already?
  • Is anyone experiencing like full-intestinal discomfort basically all day long?

I don’t remember this with my other two kids, but I am just constantly uncomfortable with my stomach/intestines. On top of being so nauseous.

I eat a balanced and relatively clean diet. I haven’t been having diarrhea or constipation. I’m just confused.
  • @mokay19 Have you tried taking a Gas-X to see if that helps with the discomfort? With my first I needed that a couple times to feel better. I actually remember taking it as my husband pulled out of the Walgreens parking lot, and 3 minutes later I had the biggest burp of my life. I felt a million pounds lighter after that.
    DD 10/2019
  • @trapperkeeper87 I have not… But I’m willing to try it!
  • @mokay19 I hope it's the miracle for you that it was for me! 🤞🏻

  • @trapperkeeper87 I wish it were burping...my gas chooses to come out the other end lol

  • @mokay19 I'm having the exact same issue. I'm ok until about lunch time. Then after I eat lunch, I'm so miserable and bloated the rest of the day. I think I'm gonna try the Gas-X and see how it goes.
  • @trapperkeeper87 @whitta1015
Just bought and took gas-x and it seems to really be helping the intestinal pain/discomfort!
  • @mokay19 Yay yay yay! I don't know many pregnant women who ever suggest it, but it's highly recommended by my doctor as a first resort for that kind of pain. Gentle and usually helpful.

  • @trapperkeeper87 you’re a lifesaver!!! I just tried Gas-X and I feel like a whole new person!

I'm so glad it's working for several of you! 🙌🏻

  • I bought Gas-X last night too! haha It definitely helped some last night!
  • I. Cannot. Stop. Puking. 😩😩😩
  • @mokay19 ughhh bless your heart. I hate that for you! Second trimester is coming soon!!
  • @mokay19 enough to maybe be HG?  Have you talked to your doctor?

  • @mokay19 I'm reaching here, but how are your bathroom habits? Are you regular and exactly as you were before becoming pregnant? I lean more toward constipation, but still fairly regular. Colace actually helped with my nausea because it helped clear out my intestines and not keep the food sitting in my stomach.

I'm so sorry you're feeling so awful. I was that way a couple weeks ago and throwing up every day. It's really one of the worst things to feel when you already feel so run down. 😞
    DD 10/2019
  • @whitta1015 I was sick into the third trimester with my other two kids so my hopes aren’t too high for the second trimester 😂

@kboydbowman I don’t think it’s HG. I’m just starting my regular dosing of unisom and B6 so I’m hoping on a that gets in my system it’ll slow things down.

@trapperkeeper87 I would say that I’m the same! But like you, I would say that my normal isn’t very often. I’ve been trying to up my fiber to ensure that I’m as regular as possible
  • @trapperkeeper87 I saw you mention Colace for nausea and I was so curious! I can imagine not being able to go making the nausea worse.  I might give it a try!
  • @mokay19 I am sorry to hear you are so sick - but also relieved to see that I am not alone. I am 8 weeks today and I miserable. I am getting sick ALL day, every day - with 0 nausea relief in between. Calling this "morning sickness" sounds like a cruel joke. I am having trouble even drinking water, even though I am SO thirsty!!  :'(
  • I am so so so tired. I went for a good walk in the sunshine for probably 45 minutes with LO who is fighting a cold and I feel dead. Nothing in my house sounds edible. Water tastes bad which I didn’t think possible. LO threw two full plates of food on ground. Cleaned it up and then asked for chicken. 2 yr olds, am I right? Send help. :(
  • @runsonanxiety what is the solution for bad tasting water seriously?!
  • maybe add something like Mio?
