Oh @maggiemadeit I’m so incredibly sorry, I’m heartbroken for you. We will miss you in this group. Sending you peace and healing 💜
    As for your question-

I chose to have a D&C with both of my MMC. I didn’t like that there was a chance I’d have to take two rounds of meds or that I might go through that and still end up with the D&C. In my case, my babies has been gone for over a week when we find out and I just wanted it over with and didn’t want to deal with the trauma and pain of going through the miscarriage at home. D&C comes with risks too of course, but I can’t say I’ve ever heard of misoprostol being a positive experience for you. https://undefiningmotherhood.com/misoprostol-miscarriage-pill/ this is blog post about someone’s personal experience that helped me make my decision

  • @maggiemadeit my heart is breaking for you. I will put my experience in a spoiler.

I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks and then my next pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. For the 11 week, my OB at the time, who I trust with my life, didn’t give me an option. It was 30 October and he told me we were doing a D&E. Don’t Google it. It’s very similar to a D&C but I was further along and just don’t Google it. He told me later that he didn’t want me to have to deal with the process of misoprostol especially knowing we were going into the holidays. I dealt with the 8 week miscarriage at home, on my own. I would probably choose the D&E again if I had to in the future. I went to sleep and woke up with the worst of it over. The natural miscarriage took longer and was definitely labor. It sucked and my kids were home and it was just a lot. Make whatever choice feels right for you. Overall it just sucks and I’m praying for you. I’m so sorry.

  • @maggiemadeit I am heartbroken for you. Take good care of yourself these coming days, weeks, and months. Huge hugs to you! 💜

  • @maggiemadeit so sorry to hear this news and thinking of you.
Last spring at my first US they did not find a heart beat. I was in shock and devastated as the baby only measured a couple days small. I couldn't do either option at that time because I couldn't believe the baby wasn't alive. So I waited 2 weeks hoping to miscarry naturally. I didn't.  Had a confirmation US and there was no change so I opted for misoprostol. I took it Friday evening. I started bleeding that night. I took the 2nd dose just in case. It was uncomfortable cramping but totally bearable and I was glad to be in my home with husband there and it allowed me to properly grieve. I coughed and had 1 sharp pain. Monday the bleeding basically stopped but I kept wearing a pad. On Tuesday I passed the actual tissue, held it and said goodbye. I had an US the following week to confirm everything passed. It did.

I am so so sorry @maggiemadeit, the TTCAL board on TTGP is a fantastic support and wealth of knowledge. Always here if you need to talk.
  • @knottie any update on what caused the bleeding?
Hi all, not new to the Bump but new to these message threads. I’m 10.5 weeks.  I started having spotting Friday morning and had red blood in my underwear when I woke up to pee 3 am Sat. It turned back to off/on spotting. I’ve also had off/on very mild cramping. It’s now Sun morning and spotting/cramping again. The nurse I spoke with said since I’m not filling a pad or having severe cramps I should just increase fluid intake and monitor at home until my appt this Weds. So basically I have to wait 3 more days to see if I’m having another miscarriage. Has anyone had symptoms like this and been ok? I don’t know if my mental health or my marriage could handle another loss.

@lmiller819 I had bright red bleeding with spotting and I’ve had bright red bleeding with a clot. I have a subchorionic hematoma. It’s smaller now then it was at 6 weeks, but still there, and that’s what’s causing my bleeding. It can come in spotting, bleeding or even no bleeding and you may not know you have it, did you have an ultrasound yet ? It should show on that !!
  • @lmiller819 I had similar symptoms. Last Sunday without warning I woke up to bright red blood and a lot of it. I was certain I was miscarrying. I called on call OB who advised me the same thing. I didn’t wait and went to an urgent care that I knew had US and went to get checked out. Luckily baby and I were both fine at the time. I got diagnosed with a SCH and had a follow up with OB this past Tuesday. They confirmed and told me no vigorous exercise but other than that no restrictions. I have my FT screen this Tuesday and a new patient appointment for MFM on 2/11. Since last week my bleeding turned to spotting that has continued turning from dark brown to light brown. Still currently experiencing this. My dr told me as long as I don’t have period like or more intense cramps that I should be ok. I hope this helps
  • @amberrmariee20 how did your US go? Hoping your hematoma resolved and is gone for good
  • The nurse reviewed my previous 2 US (done at 7 and 9.5 weeks) and no SCH. She said it sounded like bleeding from my cervix, since it’s so vascular and sensitive, intercourse or any straining could have prompted bleeding.

The spotting and cramping have steadily decreased to barely there and I’m still having my usual preg symptoms of nausea & tender boobs. It’s really difficult in my area to find an urgent care that also does US so I haven’t gotten one yet. I’m going to call my OB tomorrow (Mon) morning.
  • @wigglyicecream my SCH is still there as of Jan 9th ( I bled for 2-3 days and that was the last time I had bleeding) I’m not sure when they will do another US to see any changes. It’s so scary when your bleeding during pregnancy 💕
