Re: January symptom thread

  • @mamamoomoo12 I've been struggling the last few days, as well. Triscuits w/ cheddar, lightly salted popcorn, and oat cookies w/ peanut butter have all been good snacks for me. My nausea is better in the mornings and I've been having frozen berry smoothies which have been good. I made spaghetti last night and couldn't eat any, but my husband got me a plain slice of pizza and it was heaven. I scarfed it down so fast! For some reason spaghetti and tomato sauce was nauseating, but the same ingredients rearranged into pizza was delicious. I don't get it, but whatever haha.

  • I’m 7 weeks and 1 day. Still no real nausea since switching to a better prenatal! And you all I did have really bad nausea with my first pregnancy. Symptoms really do differ. I’m so extremely tired though. I’ve been falling asleep when I put my son to bed and just sleeping there all night. And I’m still exhausted! My boobs only hurt when bumped. But omg - my nose will not stop running (not sick, negative Covid test) and even got a bit bloody yesterday. Hello pregnancy runny nose! This happened to me last time, but more in the second trimester. I also have what feels like a constant stretching or tugging in my lower abdomen which is just making me think about how crazy big I might get with this second pregnancy 😳. I had such a cute basketball bump the first time. I think I’m going to be much bigger this time around, based on what I’ve observed from other STMs.
  • @magnolia209 yes! My bloat is making me nervous how big I’ll get with #3! I got so much bigger with DS than DD… but I also went from a 7lb 3oz baby to a 9lb 1oz baby… so that could be why I was bigger 🤣

At 6w5d I'm feeling all the nausea. All day, every day. I've been living on the nausea drops from Target. Where does one find these preggie pops I've heard about?! Also, all the bloat and constipation. I've resorted to unbuttoning my pants and using a hair tie to keep them "buttoned." Need to order some of those band things for non-maternity pants for this weird in-between a belly stage. How long should I go without a #2 movement and not be concerned? It's been every 2 or 3 days so far...please tell me the constipation goes away eventually?
  • I had such a huge belly with #2 @magnolia209 but like @mokay19 I went from 7lbs 2oz to 9lbs 15oz in going to blame both of ours on having our last trimester in the first quarantine orders with toddlers.
  • @mnmomma84 I found it got better toward the end of the first trimester/beginning of the second
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • Oh and nausea is hitting hard tonight. MH decided we should get dinner out and I thought that was a great idea because I can normally eat food easier if I'm not cooking it or smelling it being prepared. I got 1/4 through my burger and that was tough to do. I just laid fish in bed and mh took the 1 year old out who was demanding boobs because I just can't right now and shut the door. I'm at the point where I feel like if I actually threw up I might feel better, but I hate throwing up so much.
  • @mnmomma84 I find 2nd trimester is ok, but 3rd or gets worse for me especially because as a teacher I can't just go when I feel I need to and then I have to wait until lunch and it makes it worse. My cousin had the same problem and told me it's so I get good at pushing before baby comes 😂. Epsom soaks were needed in the 3rd trimester for my poor bum.

The iron in the prenatals causes constipation too so maybe see if your actually need the iron (I need it plus some so I take a blood builder too).
  • @mnmomma84 I got the preggie drops at target in a multi flavor pack, but just ordered a single flavor pack on Amazon.
  • @mnmomma84 Constipation may get a bit better in second trimester, but ramps back up in third. Stool softener is your friend and highly recommended, especially leading up to birth. Honestly, the Preggie Pops weren't/aren't super helpful for me, but Tummy Drops totally are. They have a much higher level of ginger that actually helps. The double peach, blackberry, and peppermint flavors aren't bad; I haven't tried the sweet ginger pear, though it sounds intriguing.

Also, taking half a unisom and 25mg of B6 at bedtime can help get you through the night and early morning, if you struggle with nausea during sleep (or is that just me? 😣).

  • I had my intake appointment today and the nurse suggested 25 mg of B6 3x a day to help with nausea. I started doing the preggie pop drops a few days ago which have helped.
  • When I was pregnant with my first, I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. Had to have IV treatments a couple times a week, and was monitored for losing weight.
I am 6w3d and I have been nauseous and vomity all week… all I want to do is sleep and I can’t with an almost 2 year old and a full time job (I work remotely thank goodness). Absolute worst…
anyone have any luck? I’m feeling very down and thinking a second one, wasn’t a very good idea.
  • I tried to change username to raduchene
  • @magnolia209 what prenatal did you switch to?
  • knottie, you may have to sign out and sign in a few times to get it to show

  • @knottie4aa040e124217302 I’ll take a picture of it. It’s just a regular CVS one. But it has so much more than the chewable prenatal I was taking before. My nausea was greatly helped with eating regularly. It’s definitely not anywhere near HG. I doubt it will cure HG. But it really helped my regular nausea because I clearly needed a boost. It also has B6 like my preggie pops. Preggie pops helped me a lot, so maybe this is just enough B6 for me not to feel nauseous! Which means I probably have very mild morning sickness this time around, so, just giving you all that caveat. It also has Iron which I wasn’t taking before but probably should have been because I got pretty anemic last time. I did feel really shitty and haven’t felt that way since starting this:

  • 6 weeks and I have the standard symptoms. Sore boobs, cramps, nausea and bloating. There's a lot happening in the middle that sometimes I don't know what symptom is taking it's turn. Just curious if anyone is experiencing the opposite of constipation...to put it delicately.
  • @nightknight Yes. Very much. Now with both of my pregnancies. I am not currently and wasn’t ever very constipated. But yes, definitely have the other issue. It was worse about a week ago. It’s improved now. I’m 7 weeks 4 days. Hopefully yours improves as well.
  • @nightknight not alone! Same boat over here although today seemed better, so maybe it’s calming down. 7w6d now.
  • @nightknight you are def not alone my friend!
  • @mamamoomoo12 I love the ginger tea. Pink story makes a great one and it helps with nausea. You can get from Amazon and target I think.
