Omg! I had no idea- I usually take Excedrin migraine so I will pick some up and try this next time it gets bad. I am not really keen on coffee at the moment so barely getting any caffeine...if any. Which could also be part of my issue

  • @mamamoomoo12 Hopefully you can find some near you. 🤞🏻 I wouldn't have made it through the dark days last time without it.

  • @mamamoomoo12 I never found anything that worked for mine during pregnancy. Usually I take sumatriptan but obviously can’t during pregnancy. So I always take Tylenol, drink coffee, and nap. I napped in my car at work numerous times last pregnancy because I lose my cognitive ability and sometimes get facial paralysis.
Once I’m done having babies, I’m going to try some of those preventative meds!
  • @mokay19 I usually take sumatriptan as well when they get really bad. It took longer but eventually tylenol, coffee and lots of water worked.

I take Botox as a migraine preventative. I’m still in my last window, but my next appt is mid Feb. The neurologist said she’ll do the injections while I’m pregnant. The OB said to push my next appt back to 2nd trimester. Has anyone continued Botox for migraines while pregnant? What’s been your experience?
  • Sinus drainage combined with morning sickness leads to so much throw up. I'm miserable.
    DD 10/2019
  • This pregnancy has been SO much harder than my first 2. I've lost 2 pounds from all the throwing up and food aversions. I'm basically just miserable all the time. Good thing these little ones are worth it!
  • Hi @shannencbooks!  Make sure you stop by the introduction thread and introduce yourself!
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • I hate pregnancy insomnia 😩
  • I changed my prenatal- I was taking gummies because that’s the only thing I could tolerate last pregnancy. I didn’t even think about it this time. But I needed more and asked the pharmacist a question. She asked me why I was taking gummies. She said the pills are so much better. The gummies are just if you can’t tolerate swallowing pills. I told her I haven’t been too nauseous so far. And I got the one she recommended. Ok, so I had actually been getting nauseous and feeling like absolute shit in the evenings for several days. I started taking the new prenatal and the next day, and every day since, I haven’t felt nauseous! I also am not as tired. It’s extremely nerve wracking for symptoms to disappear obviously, but I still feel quite pregnant and have sore boobs and belly and got so out of breath walking around the block, and have the pregnancy discharge but I just don’t feel nearly as shitty. So, I’m hoping it’s just the prenatal giving my body more of what it needed. It does have a lot of B vitamins- just like preggie pops which always made me feel better. So, we’ll see. I just can’t wait for the ultrasound! Less than 2 weeks to go. I just want to see a healthy baby and then I can enjoy not feeling like shit.
  • @magnolia209 it's great to hear your new prenatals sound to be working for you. I was also using the gummies until I found out they didn't include all the minerals I needed. Now I'm on pill form, but I miss getting to eat a handful of candy (i.e. gummies) every morning. :)

Week 7 and I'm in full-on pregnancy rhinitis territory! I'm extremely lucky to have no morning sickness - just sore boobs, minor cramping that's gone down a lot, crying, periods of freaky calmness, bloating and a serious need to eat every 2 hrs.

I've tried using my neti pot, claritin, and a humidifier to help with the sneezing but it's not doing much. It feels like full on hay fever or when I touch my cats and then accidentally rub my eyes.

If anyone has experience with pregnancy rhinitis I'd love to hear about it. I've gone through so much kleenex already. My doctor told me I should buy shares in tissue paper.
  • OMG I just tried to take off one of my rings that I never take off and even though I normally have no problem, it was SO SWOLLEN.

Dear bloat - please stay confirmed to my gut kthxbye.

  • @j_ruth Pregnancy rhinitis over here as well (I had it with my daughter too). I have no advice, but solidarity. I guess stay really well hydrated, buy stock in your favorite tissues and cough drops, know that bloody noses are normal with it (hate that part), and sleep with your head slightly elevated if you can.

  • @kboydbowman I couldn’t get one of mine off before I realized I was pregnant and bloated and went to the jewelry store for help lol. Spray some windex on your finger and it should come off much easier!
  • @laj0217 after some persistent wiggling I got it off and moved it to a different finger.
    Current pregnancy -

  • Also, my boobs hurt SO MUCH today.

  • @kboydbowman MH just got me a new ring for Christmas and I don't want to risk it. I wear silicone bands at work, so that'll probably be all I wear for the next 9 months.

Also +1 on the boob pain. It's killing me.

  • @trapperkeeper87 I’m sorry to hear you’re no stranger to the rhinitis. I so appreciate the solidarity!

good to know about bloody noses. That sounds awful and also a bit scary, so I’ll keep it in the back of my mind.

They don’t really talk about pregnancy snot in movies and tv, do they? LOL
  • @j_ruth my very first pregnancy I would get blood tinged mucus when I blew my nose.  I actually found it kind of comforting - it was a reminder I was pregnant (I *never* had nosebleeds otherwise). Haven't ever had that with a pregnancy again though.

  • @j_ruth I had so many symptoms they never talk about in the movies. 😄 Sometimes I had to wonder if I was pregnant with an alien.

Spoiler: I wasn't. My daughter is a normal toddler.
    DD 10/2019
  • Yep, bloody snot over here but no actual bloody noses. I don't remember this with my first pregnancy so it took me a minute to realize it was a pregnancy symptom. I thought maybe it's a double whammy from pregnancy + cold dry air? My first trimester of my first pregnancy was during the summer when it was hot and humid.
  • I had no idea this could be pregnancy related! My skin and nose dry out terribly in winter, but it wasn’t getting better which was unusual. Good to know it’s part of pregnancy. Just gonna stop worrying about the snot then lol.
  • @trapperkeeper87 I’m so glad you clarified that you didn’t birth an alien 😂😂

I mean, I needed to make sure people knew the truth, ya know? 😉😄

  • Ugh probably my least favorite pregnancy symptom (constipation) just showed up. Honestly I'd take nausea over constipation. I've always had a very regular digestive system except when I'm pregnant and it makes me so uncomfortable. Hopefully it doesn't get as bad as it did last time.

  • @kboydbowman my wedding ring is already tight.. booo. Too soon for this bloat!
  • @Amphibious22 I get constipation while pregnant also. I hate it!
  • Made it to 7 weeks and 1 day without nausea. Today it hit me like a freight train. Y’all, send help. 😭
  • @x0morganna hugs! It's bad over here too! I've pretty much spent my days on the couch letting my 14 month old fend for herself for the last 2 weeks. I know everyone is different but I know for me, the nausea is worse if I'm constipated. Which means I don't eat and don't move which makes me even more constipated. Hang in there! I've been living off of blended canned pears. TMI: they're not terrible if they do end up coming back up🙈
  • I hadn't pooped in 3 days....that....resolved....today, in a spectacularly painful fashion.

If you need me, I'll be over here whimpering in a corner.

  • I was getting worried because I hadn’t been nauseous at all. I had been extremely tired, sore boobs, etc. but I’m a nervous wreck and my first ultrasound isn’t until tomorrow.

Then I was in the grocery store yesterday and it all hit me. I couldn’t walk past anything with the slightest smell without gagging. Even smelling bread had me sick!

I spent the rest of the night with no appetite and nauseous. No fun but it at least gave me a little piece of mind!
  • I have been worried and anxious too. My symptoms have been very mild. Sore boobs, tired, and a little food aversion but overall probably wouldn't have realized I was pregnant if I hadn't missed my period and taken a test. I'm 7.5 weeks now and my first appointment isn't until next month. I know everyone is different in how their body handles pregnancy and maybe my symptoms will be more pronounced in the next few weeks so maybe I should be thankful I'm not having a rough time. But I am definitely impatiently awaiting that ultrasound.

Just here to say THANK YOU for this thread! I am 4w6d with no major symptoms. It added to my nervousness, but then I read other posts from 4-5 weekers and saw that not EVERYONE gets nauseous right away. FTM here if you can't tell! :)

  • @channas20 - I know it can be stressful, but symptoms are different for everyone! I'm 8w1d with no morning sickness, and I've never had sore boobs with any of my pregnancies, which seems to be everyone's first sign. Hang in there!!
  • @whitta1015 I also never got sore boobs, this time or last time. I'm 8w1d now and still no change there. It's so funny how symptoms are all different!
    DD 10/2019
  • I can't believe how sore my boobs are! I feel like they need a protective mold around them 🤣
At 7 weeks I'm feeling better than I expected. I can't sleep but am buzzing with energy in the morning and crashing by about 2....need more naps! Feeling nauseous if I let myself get hungry so im eating every 2 hours...eating for 2 right?! 😝
  • Really struggling with nausea and food aversion the last few days. I can hardly stomach water and I love drinking water. So at a loss of what to eat and drink. When any sort of craving hits I jump on it just to get something in my body. I cant even think about it what to eat... Help :)
  • @mamamoomoo12 Have you tried flavored drops for your water? Or a temperature difference (e.g. if you normally like ice water, try it at room temperature)? Regarding foods, try tiny nibbles of carby things. Rice cakes are boring, but the crunch is so satisfying to me. Dairy is also super helpful for nausea, so indulge every so often on an ice cream bar or root beer float. I've found that popsicles and fudge pops are also a very low calorie way to ease an upset stomach.

  • @mamamoomoo12 would adding Mio or something similar to the water help?

  • I got some of the tummy drops and preggie drops. Just the regular ones. Not the “plus” with vitamins. It’s just sugar I think, but it’s helped some with the nausea.
