@mdfarmchick Oh God, I know if it's a girl my mom is going to buy so many clothes and 90% of them are going to be of the uncomfortable variety and I'm going to have to take them all back. 😫
@wisewitch222@mdfarmchick I don’t necessarily mean the uncomfortable kind, but all the little rompers and bubbles with giant bows… I’m not missing out! Lol. I have some boy stuff that I would probably put her in with a bow and my husband also made a similar comment about (potential) her only wearing boy clothes. But no way. Lol. I like all the very feminine flowers and pale pink and pointelle.
I was very intentional in buying gender neutral clothes for my son. Lots of pastel greens, yellows, grays, etc. I'll be able to reuse a lot if this one is a girl. I'll also want to buy some sweet floral prints and bows if we have a girl.
@paytonpedro I'm all for putting kids (regardless of the sex) in comfy clothes 99%. The only exception is where we are going to an event where they need to look fancy. Otherwise, why put them in outfits they look uncomfortable? If they liked the style, that be one thing, but DS has had zero opinion on his wardrobe so far. We got so many clothes from DS, the majority hand me downs from a friend, but if we end up with a little girl I'll keep the more gender neutral clothes, donate the rest, and buy more feminine clothing. I've always been jealous of little girl outfits lol
@aukeev Glad you are finding you can reuse a lot! It sure helps.
I did it mostly to be practical (I knew we'd have more kids, possibly a girl someday) but also because 'boy' specific clothes are SO LOUD. So many were jewel tones, which just feels too harsh for a little baby.
@darkrose88 oh I know! Stores kill me. It’s like 60% little girl clothes, 10% neutral clothes, and 30% boy clothes. It drives me crazy having to walk through all the adorable girl clothes to get to the 2 racks of boy stuff.
Fwiw, my kids mostly wear their pajamas all day. They refuse to change on days they’re home all day and it’s not a battle I’m choosing. They really only get dressed anymore when they leave the house. Which, if I’m being honest, is exactly what I do too. Lol
edit because I know math but must have hit the wrong number and I don’t proof read lol.
@paytonpedro same with PJs all day unless we are going out. Well, my 8 year old rarely wears PJs but she's in soft leggings and loose tops 90% of the time. I'm always in comfy pants and my 3 year old still fits in 24 month onesies so she gets those 100% of the time. I don't know what I'll do when she grows out of onesies.
With my first girl, I did a lot of gender neutral clothing but with my second girl I bought all the pink and florals. I don't know why. She doesn't wear bows, though, and almost never wears dresses or anything fancy.
My oldest is VERY girly and now has all the dresses/pink/purple/bows/costume jewelry/scrunchies. Anything sparkly, fuzzy, or rainbow and she's there. So the opposite of me, but I definitely let her be her.
Call me super crazy 🥴 but I could have sworn I felt the tiniest flutter today while laying down. Probably wishful thinking on my part bc I really want to start bonding with baby.
@paytonpedro yup, all the stores kill me too with their adorable little girl outfits! They are sooo much many more choices which I seriously don't get. As a parent of a boy I want more choices!
However, tbh, when my son is at home, he pretty much lives in a shirt and undies 50%, and the other 50% of the time he's running around in just undies. We can't keep clothes on this kid. 🤦♀️😂
So I'm about to lose it on the bump mobile app! I've typed out at least 3 different messages in the past few days and they aren't auto-saving! I'm talking just opening SMS to just check a text & the entire message is gone. Or having to step away from the phone to deal with DS, and when unlock the phone, message is gone. 😣 ugh, if this keeps up, I'm not sure how much I'll be posting. I just don't have the patience to type out the same message multiple times.
@wigglyicecream yes, but not very often. My personal laptop is old and slow (I got it in 2015) so I hate using it. Sometimes I bump from my work laptop but when I do, I tend to get very distracted and not focus on work lol. I've never been a super big fan of the bump app but this latest issue is making me dislike it more.
@darkrose88 maybe try using your browser on the phone like @wisewitch222 suggested? I have an iPhone and the app is very rarely glitchy for me. Not saying it makes a difference. If it starts to be that way I know my participation would suffer
@wigglyicecream hmmm now that you mention it, during my last pregnancy, I'm pretty sure I ended up using the browser on my phone at lot because the app was super glitchy. I'll check it out and see if it solves my issues.
@darkrose88 auto save didn’t work me for earlier today either I had to retype a whole post 😡

@paytonpedro I hope everything can be fixed quick (after a little break from cooking!) and that the expense is much less than anticipated.
@leahrnmom You aren’t missing a lot in the food thread. Basically half is talking about what sounds good and half is talking about how nothing sounds good.🤣 I’d wait till you have your appetite back and then catch up on the whole thread at once. That will give you craving ideas once eating sounds good. You could even keep a list of things you want to try!
I like baby clothes to be cute AND comfy. Even for myself, I really like the dressier side of things, but I rarely get something uncomfortable. I’ve been getting some baby clothes on ThredUP and they have a lot of cute boys clothes too. Additionally it’s one of a kind. The stores are pretty unbalanced!!
I was able to leave a text on the mobile bump unfinished for hours and sometimes even close the app and come back, but today it has deleted it the second I go to a different anything. *second time writing part of this message* Hopefully the glitch gets fixed quickly!
Well all...I got cocky today. Lately, I've only been able to brush my teeth for a max of 30 seconds... Today, I was feeling great and went a WHOLE MINUTE. That's a new personal record during this pregnancy, BUT I couldn't even make it to the toilet and threw up my breakfast in the sink. Yay.
That is ambitious! I’m sorry that happened! You aren’t alone. My nausea med is the Zofran you let dissolve in your mouth and then swallow. I can’t stand the taste so I hold it under my tongue till I feel it dissolve and then chug it down with water to avoid it as much as feasible. Well today it triggered my gag reflex and I tried to spit it in the sink to try again and I threw up in the sink as well. Only a bit and then I emptied my stomach entirely, but at least I was prepared that time. How ironic that it was the anti nausea meds that triggered it.🤦🏼♀️
I was just thinking about this but if you don’t know, you can get a free breast pump through your insurance. I’ve gotten 3 free ones (insurance changes a lot 🙄) and it’s 100% no strings attached.
@meagan822 I had options both times, and insurance would cover several of the base models, but then they gave the option to upgrade to a slightly nicer pump for a small fee. I upgraded with #2 and it was worth it!
@meagan822 I used aeroflowbreastpumps.com (which sounds similar to the other website) and you submit all your information, insurance, due date, etc. and then they will send you an email when your "product list" is ready! You will then see which ones are totally covered and then ones that you have to pay an upgrade fee for! It's really handy.
Currently sitting here all emotional knowing that once this baby is in my arms, it will be another piece of my heart outside my body. This is what they don’t tell you before you have kids; that you will love that tiny human in such a different and intense way it will literally blow your mind and shatter what’s left of your heart every time they cry or are sad.
Ugh. Don’t mind me. Just having a moment over here.
@meagan822 +1 for aeroflowbreastpumps.com. Used it for my last pregnancy and it was super simple to see what I qualified for free with, what I could upgrade to, and placing the actual order was super easy. I even got extras parts for free in the mail a few months after I had DS.
@coco2787 noooooo! Ugh, I'm so sorry! They really need to fix this issue.
@paytonpedro These pregnancy hormones are no joke! It's so surreal, every time, thinking there's a little person growing right now and by this time next year they will be in our arms. Real and squishy and with a name. Our family, our lives, our world changed forever and yet feeling like how it was always meant to be.
@starkette literally exactly how I feel! It’s just so crazy. And then thinking about how much I love my two boys and knowing there is more love in me waiting for this baby to be here (not that I don’t love it now, I do! It’s just so intense the moment you finally hold them!) just is blowing my mind!!
Okay so FTM. The first time I heard those heartbeats, I burst into tears. Those are MY babies. I am so excited to meet them and hold them and love them. ❤ my heart.
@bridgiebee82 yes! I’ve gotten tears every time! That is definitely one of the first very special moments as a mom! That feeling only multiplies. And in your case, multiplies and multiplies! I kiss my almost 6yo’s head at night and it’s just the most insane love for another human that you could ever feel! ❤️
@and_peggy WHOA it's a little early in the morning for that! People are WILD! 🤯 Did you see the username of the person who started it? 👀 how very mature. 🙄
Y’all. Please feel free to laugh at me for making it into my mid-thirties with this objectively stupid source of anxiety, but I need some help and the internet is failing me.
I am deep cleaning my kitchen today and I am debating the merits of the self clean cycle on my oven. Logically I know my worries are mostly baseless. But I am terrified of this supposedly time saving feature. It seems like half the internet says it’s totally fine, the other half says NO DO NOT DO IT IT WILL EXPLODE AND YOU WILL DIE.
Do y’all have a self-cleaning oven? Do you use the self-cleaning cycle? Is it gonna kill my poor eleven-year-old oven? Is it gonna blow up my house? (I wish I could say I didn’t think it would, but my current heart rate says otherwise.)
@mangoandguava This isn't going to help you, but I'm firmly in the "terrified of self-cleaning ovens" feature. We have never, ever used it. Yes, that means my husband once spent an entire afternoon with a brush and abrasive cleaner after some berry pie filling leaked out the pie and baked onto the bottom of the oven.
We just bought a brand new oven last week. It has a self cleaning feature that we will never use. It also has a steam cleaning feature that allows you to pour some water in and set the oven to a normal, non-terrifying temperature, thereby loosening the baked-on bits for less scrubbing. We will definitely use that feature.
@wisewitch222 I discovered that some ovens have that and I would love that feature. I’m trying to convince MH that we need to replace all our aging appliances before Lil Bear gets here, and that is a feature I’m definitely wanting. (Also I wouldn’t be upset if it were a double oven with convection 😂)
