@paytonpedro I don’t even understand the point of that post. Does she want someone to tell her “oh yes, definitely pregnant, pay no mind to that negative test!”

@wigglyicecream yes I did! And I actually remember reading that thread in the past. That’s some crazy $h!t. I noticed @coco2787 was around for that too!
I’ve been thinking about it, and I’m curious what they actually give birth to after 3-7 years….. is it a kindergartener? I’m not really on fb but I also really want to stalk the support group.
@wigglyicecream oh it’s definitely a mental illness. It is sad but it is also really crazy. I read through that link and every part of it is just entirely off the wall.
There was a Dr.Phil episode about cryptic pregnancy, the lady was convinced she was pregnant with 6 babies even though she’d had her tubes tied. It’s wild the mental gymnastics people do to convince themselves of these things even with tons of evidence to the contrary.

@wigglyicecream I like how that website says “when the pregnancy turns normal”. Pretty sure that’s just another way to say “when you actually get pregnant with a real baby”.

Yeah I was thinking that too when I read the support group. “When it turns normal” and “you might have faint positives every once in a while that never progress”. I just don’t understand the logic or how anyone could actually believe that.
@coco2787 I saw a clip of that dr Phil somewhere a couple years ago 🤭
I've had thoughts multiple times about how not close in age my kids will be. A four and half age gap was not what I wanted but life doesn't always work out the way you want. 🤷♀️
@darkrose88 mine will be 3.5yrs apart and I also was worried about it. Then I thought how stressed I was with DD and the likely undiagnosed PPD and I’m grateful to be at the place I am now and the time DD got with just me once the fog lifted. I also was team one and done due to some circumstances in my last relationship. Never thought I would be in a position to want or be able to have another.
@wigglyicecream thanks for sharing that perspective. We also have a valid reason for a large age gap. DH ended up with PPD too, and frankly DS was a hard baby/toddler (and still is at times), so it took both of us a long time to get to a place where a second kid was on the table. *TW* We accidentally got pregnant when DS was 18 months. Neither DH nor I were ready for a second kid, but I accepted it whereas DH was in denial. I had a MC at 7 weeks. The loss ended up putting our plans of having a second kid on hold indefinitely as DH determined he wasn't ready and he wasn't sure he would ever be ready. *end TW* I gave him some space and eventually we had a frank conversation on life goals, etc. At that point we came to the conclusion both of us saw a second kid in the picture so planned on trying sometime when DS was around 2.5/3. Job issues postponed it even more. Anyway here we are. I see both the pluses & negatives of the large age gap but at the end of the day, this was the best time for my family. Any sooner wasn't meant to be.
@darkrose88 I got pregnant when DD was 18 months and I had just started my relationship with my now fiancé.
TW that pregnancy resulted in my coronal ectopic loss that then ruptured and I needed urgent surgery.
I just got the green light from OB to start trying and didn’t think it would happen this quickly. I was apprehensive since I’m applying to an in person program at school that starts Fall 2022 but after speaking to admissions I’m feeling much better about it all.
@darkrose88 I hope my post wasn’t insensitive. I think there are pros and cons to every age gap. I certainly never thought this is how our life would look but we don’t take for granted that we were able to have so many.
Your kiddos will love each other just the same, 2 years or 5 years apart.

@coco2787 I almost just commented and directed her to TTGP but I think those ladies have been through enough this week. “HEDD”? Is that for hopefully estimated due date?
I always got kind of nervous about having a due date early in the month and having to join a hot mess BMB. I've been happy with my end of month, and now middle of month dates.
@and_peggy oh, your comment was not at all insensitive and I'm sorry if my response made you feel I felt it was lol. I was just sort of musing out loud when I initially commented. I agree there are benefits/disadvantages to various age gaps. I am honestly just happy I'm giving my kiddo a sibling at this point. I would have done a 10 year age gap if that's how long it took MH to get onboard lol. 🤪
@wigglyicecream I totally get your hesitantancy to having a baby so soon if you're starting an in person program in the Fall. I'm glad you got the reassurance you needed to do both. ❤
Re: the age gap question, I used to be afraid of them since I'm not friends with my brothers at all (I'm the oldest, brother is 4.5 years younger than me, other brother is 7 years younger than him), but as an adult I've come to realize as an adult that whether or not siblings are friends have more to do with how they were raised than their age gaps. One friend is really close with her brother who is 8 years older. Another friend is close with her brother and her sister and they are each spaced six years apart. My husband's brother is basically an acquaintance, and he's only 3.5 years older. I think it's not about the actual years.
@wisewitch222 I agree with this. I’m the oldest of 4 and closest to my youngest brother, 7 years younger. Mh and his brother are 7 years apart and were never close.
@wisewitch222 totally agree. I’m very close to my brother who is 5years older. H is super close with his brother who is 11 years younger.
@darkrose88 I grew up with a 5 year gap, and my aunts and uncles all have 5 year gaps between them. H has bigger gaps between him and his sibs. We haven’t known anything different, so we were hoping for a larger gap between our kids but with our ages we tightened the gap.
