We have to submit our favorite song to get through a long workday for a playlist they are making. I don’t listen to music while I work so I’m really struggling. I have no idea what people listen to while they are working and just want it to be something that people aren’t like “why would she pick that?” haha
Here are the 3 songs that I’m considering:
here comes the sun by the Beatles (this would be something that I would listen to if I were to put music on)
shut up and dance by walk the moon (mostly thinking of using this since I think it would be universally appealing?)
shake it off by Taylor swift (since it’s supposed to be for “a long workday” that song is a mood lifter for me)
I’m aware that as with everything in my life, I’m over thinking this, but thought I’d see if you all had any other inspiration!
Edit - I think I really just need thoughts on what type of song I should go for - 1. A song that I’d actually listen to while working even if it’s more of a chill song 2. Universally appealing 3. A song that’s a mood lifter for me personally
@bows22 Depends on how well you know your coworkers/how you feel about your job. I'd definitely go for more of like: Muse - Uprising Or going Old school - Take this Job and Shove It by Johnny Paycheck
Of course, we are Feds and one year we got this chastising email from our "Workplace Culture" rep about how we shouldn't have any alcohol at the holiday party because some people don't drink and blah blah blah... So I brought a bottle of "Menage Trois" wine for our Anonymous Gift Exchange. SHOVE IT RIGHT UP YOUR BEAUROCRATICAL PIE HOLE!!!!! (*stormageddon MAY have a small rebellious streak and anger management issues, coupled with a disrespect for stupidity, particularly stupidity in authority, which the Govt has in spades...)

@bows22 Normally I would vote for anything by the Beatles but I have bad memories tied to that song so I can't in good faith tell you to submit it. However to answer your specific question I would submit a song that is actually something you would listen to, embrace who you are.
@walkawaynee thank you I think that is what I needed to hear! I am afraid that everyone is going to have these great motivational songs and it’s just not me haha
@bows22 I agree with @walkawaynee, I'd submit something that you find uplifting, don't worry about how other people might think. Unless it's like the Hamster Dance Song that's sole purpose is to be irritating, pick something that, if it did come on while you were working, would make you dance in your seat or sing along. I prefer complete silence when I'm working but the songs on my "Work From Home" playlist are all soft pop/acoustic songs that don't have any elements in them that would make me want to skip it. I will put those on if I'm trying to drown out other ambient noise like trucks outside or MH working with the tv on downstairs.

@bows22 Actually, agree with @kiki047. If you don't want to be contrary, I usually listen to a lot of like John Williams soundtracks type music! Not sure if that's what they'd like. Maybe some nice musical music, like something from The Greatest Showman. (As I legit am currently listening to the Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack)

@stormageddon-darklordofall are you in my head? Haha. My first pick was “this is me” from the greatest showman but then I didn’t know if that was too “much”
@keikilove@optimistgardener I forgot to respond to you re: Vegas and vicinity recommendations from last week - thank you for that! I've started a list and I've noted all of those things. We did the drive from Vegas down to Phoenix in 2018, which was spectacular. You had me with anything to do with red rocks, that's right up my alley. I'm also considering trying to meet up with one of my fav TTGP grads who is in the San Bernardino area in CA so Joshua Tree NP is also being added to the list because if I go down to Lake Havasu then across, it's kind of on the way.

History
I am doing this on my own. Left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and tube still purport to function.
Began TTC in Aug '18 @ age 35
5 or 6 (or 7?!) cycles using frozen donor sperm, ICI. All BFN
Mar-Jun '19 IUIs, all BFN
Began process of referral for RE in spring of '19, blood tests confirm low AMH (.54) but all else is good.
May '19 HSG shows open tube, but ultrasound suggests fibroids
MRI in June '19 confirms two large fibroids, one growing through wall of uterus
In June '19 I move from California to Oregon, disrupting my insurance, referrals, etc. 5 months spent piecing it all back together.
Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.
April '20 --> June '20, natural IUIs, all BFN.
July? saline ultrasound and bubble test demonstrate open tube
July '20 clomid cycle cancelled for thin lining
Aug-Oct, 3 femara cycles, all BFN
RE referral. While waiting to set up an appointment Nov-Jan,I continue with natural cycles and ICI, using a known donor, BFN...
Jan '21 more bloodwork, AMH is worse (.30), FSH high albeit not catastrophic at 13.2. hysteroscopy all good. "looks cozy!" says the RE.
Feb '21, injectables (menopur, novarel), iui, BFN (doc said the frozen donor sperm sample had the "best numbers she'd ever seen!")
Mar '21, injectables, iui cancelled due to lack of follicles, converted to at home-insem. BFN
May '21, first IVF round cancelled due to cyst.
July '21 IVF: standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 7; 6 days of stims. 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilize, 4 made it to blast. 3 are 4AB, 1 is 4BB. PGT-A results all abnormal. Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow. Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal. Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP. May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy. July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen. Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized. From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos! Jan 20, Fully medicated FET, baby aspirin, dexamethasone, acupuncture, and as much woo as I can stand (which isn't very much). BFN. July 23, Natural FET + baby aspirin. BFN.
@anniemarie887 same. and yes, obviously an internet troll but also one with some kind of history in the forum (see: obscure reference to a long-lost thread about "cryptic pregnancies" that @pajamstagrams was apparently around for). this isn't just someone that enjoys getting a rise out of a bunch of ttc folx. this is someone who has been fulminating about our community for a while and has decided now is the moment.

Really, the part that raises my hackles the most on these is the claim that we're not supportive people. This is such an incredibly supportive community, and whenever people claim we're not, just because we refuse to blow toxicly positive smoke up someone's butt, it makes my blood boil.
@optimistgardener I think you found it 👏👏 my quick bump search via mobile wasn't as fruitful, but that looks familiar. You can also Google cryptic pregnancy. There was a website back in the day, all about support and proof that it exists and how medical professionals are idiots for not realizing.
@fameonmain2 holy hell, I think you may be on to something...that 9 out of 15 statistic? Gotta be the same lol.
@fameonmain2 pulling that thread using the same 9/15 stat.
You know, I really do wonder how people get sucked into these rabbit holes. For all the east coasters getting pummeled with snow, this has been circulating my feeds for the last day
@acleverusername you missed a real doozy. she basically starts out with the title "why is everyone here so sh*tty" and then the whole post is a screed about how we're all miserable people who want to ruin everyone's life. she had some kind of grudge about how people on this forum had shot down people who came here with possible "cryptic pregnancies" (read: neg hpts), and some bogus statistics on that. she then just goes full parler and starts calling us a slew of racist, homophobic, and anti-semitic names. just the one post but then the BG left it up all frigging day long which i was honestly shocked by.

Re: Weekly Randoms 1.24
Muse - Uprising
Or going Old school - Take this Job and Shove It by Johnny Paycheck
