I am so sorry about losing your parents. I am grateful to have not gone through that specific grief. Having siblings to rely on after losing your mom makes perfect sense to me. I cannot imagine going through that as an only child.
I am so sorry about your dad! My sister passed away after fighting stage 4 colon cancer for about 4.5 years. Cancer is so horrible. I'm glad to hear he is still with you, but watching a loved one go through that battle is so heart wrenching.
I so understand wanting your dad to be able to meet and create memories with your daughter. His vision of a little girl running up and down the halls is so sweet. I pray he will be able to see that come to fruition.
You certainly will have reason to be more joyful that time of year ❤️
Side bit regarding my sister: so she was supposed to be DD1's godmother, however; when she was given 6mo left she let me know that while she was honored, she didn't feel right agreeing when she wasn't going to be there for her entire life. She and DD1 adored each other. And we were able to create some wonderful memories that I can tell her about. Anyhow, she passed away the evening of DD1's baptism. I really believe she held out to see DD1 taken care of and gave us a wonderful day of celebration during a very sad time. And while I still wish she were with us (obviously) and DD1s godmother, DD1 has two wonderful friends of ours as godmother's that I know my sister approved of.
