Re: December Symptoms

  • I gotta say, I’m over this sickness nonsense. I’m finally actually feeling ok except I still have to eat all the time and NOTHING. SOUNDS. EDIBLE.
I’m done. If I could eat consistently I’d be back to normal but I can’t because everything sounds like eating muddy cardboard. So over this food aversion crap.

Also very very over the strong smell thing. I can smell everything and that also makes me gag even if I just ate and feel fine. All the smells. So done.

  • The emotions have been rough this week, particularly today. I was looking over kids left on the giving tree at work (deadline for gifts is this Friday) and almost in tears thinking about how some may not get picked and get gifts, so convinced my husband to let me pick some more. Then was watching home alone 2 and the scene where he’s at the WTC almost made me cry just thinking about 9/11.

Exhaustion has been huge too. I went to bed at 9:20 last night, which is early for me lol!
  • @tuxielove93 I am exactly the same! Like constantly need to nibble to feel OK but everything is repulsive it is torture. And the smells are unbearable - I wear a mask all day at work so you think that would help but no. I work with teenagers - it is rough!! Hopefully these symptoms are first tri only, I don't think I can last through 40 weeks of it!
  • @courtneyqdk it’s normally only first tri. for the nausea. With my second it ended right at 12 weeks like magic. My first did last longer, until I think like week 24 or so, but it kept getting better and better every week.

  • I'm in the "disgusted by food" camp too. I normally LOVE food, but everything sounds horrible. The concept of having to eat to survive sounds horrible. I'm being melodramatic, but ugh, I hate this part of pregnancy.
    Pregnancy TickerSaveSave
  • I am a little nauseas but started B6 + unisom to sleep and it definitely helps. If I get hungry its much worse. Then when I feel like eating I always end up overeating because I'm desperate to avoid an empty stomach. Haven't found anything that sounds good 24/7. It's always something random.
  • I’m 9 weeks and have been having really bad nausea except today. Today, I feel semi-normal so I’m a little concerned (even though I had a scan last Friday and everything was looking good).
the only really weird symptom I’m having right now is a lot of

    ***TMI***

lol creamy vaginal discharge. Is this normal!!???

😂 Hope it's normal because I'm having that issue too.

    Second a great surprise.

  • @joellelamb I had mentioned this somewhere else too, but I always start feeling better in week 8-9 because the placenta is starting to work in these weeks. It completely takes over at week 12. So week 7 is always my absolute worst. I’ve slowly been getting better as I get further into week 9 here. I wouldn’t be concerned about it.
Also, yes the discharge is normal. It’s ramping up to protect the baby. As long as it isn’t discolored or smells extremely
    off, you’re good.

  • Ah thank you @moreamoozzarella @tuxielove93!!! That makes me feel so much better :)
  • Omg yes! My nausea was out of control since week 5-6. I’m now 10 weeks and it’s like a light switch turned off and I can actually enjoy my evenings! Everyday around 4pm I would get sick for the whole night. Horrible. Right now I just feel really hungry all the time. It’s annoying. Like right now I’m in bed and I want to eat but I don’t want to take my retainer out and re brush my teeth. Today none of my jeans fit. This is my second baby and I’m definitely showing already! My lower belly is so different.
  • Sore boobs and exhaustion have been the norm the last couple weeks… this morning I woke up and was immediately starving… and I have been hungry all day long no matter what or how much I eat.
  • The morning sickness is killing me. I’m so anxious about getting dehydrated so I’m trying so hard to get fluids down but it’s not working well. I’m definitely not getting nearly enough and I’m breastfeeding still too which means I already need more water to begin with. 😩

My insurance company denied my morning sickness meds (Bonjesta) saying they need the doctor to prove it’s medically necessary. Drinking water is medically necessary. I’m so angry. It’s like guys if I end up hospitalized it’ll cost more than covering this medication for me. 🤬 Hoping I get the approval soon because it’s like $800 out of pocket otherwise which is obviously not going to happen.
  • The “morning” sickness is starting. I feel better while I’m eating but feel gross again immediately after. I won’t complain too much though bc so many of you have it worse than I do!
  • I'm soooooooooo cold. Like heater up 5 degrees more than normal, giant hoodie, two pairs of socks kind of cold.

  • @moreamoozzarella same here! I mean I’m usually a little cold always in the winter but I feel like it’s more than usual recently. My thermostat is at 71 and I have multiple layers on and still freezing.
  • I’m 9w tomorrow and this past week has been the worst. Vomit at least once a day. The fatigue has been nuts the last few days. Sleep at night is poor, although I know it would be worse without taking unisom. I pretty much have to eat all the time to not feel sick but I never want anything and nothing ever sounds good. My sense of smell is nuts too. Pretty much hate first trimester because I feel like garbage and have to pretend I’m fine
  • @runnergirl2018 I also need to eat constantly otherwise I get nauseous. For the most part I've had a decent appetite but I'm getting to the point where I'm just sick of eating! And I get so tired now just doing basic things. I did the dishes this morning and felt exhausted! (It WAS a big pile, haha) 😆
  • I've started getting headaches. I believe they started around this time with my son as well. I am trying to drink more water (and every other liquid I can stomach), but they are not going away.

  • @zinnia19 i feel you! i went grocery shopping yesterday -and just at Trader Joes, and I came home and felt like i had done so much and needed rest!
  • Y'all I slept for 9 hours, woke up and took a shower, and just laid back down because the shower took all my energy. I feel zapped. What is wrong with me. 😩
  • @julzy. I'm sorry your insurance denied your bonjesta that's the worst. You might try 1/2 a unisom and b6 at night, because unisom (doxylamine) is the main ingredient in bonjesta. Before diclegis and bonjesta were approved, women used to just take unisom at night for nausea. It isn't quite as good (I think the rx ones are time-release?) but it might help get you through.

  • @stardustskies same! My exhaustion makes me so unmotivated to do anything above the minimum. I wish I could just shower, go to work, make dinner, and fit in a yoga practice and call it a day. Anything outside that and I'm practically whining about having to do it. I swear this is a terrible time of year to be in 1st tri 🤦‍♀️

  • @stardustskies and @inthewoods23. Seriously.  It takes me an enormous amount of willpower to develop the motivation to do pretty much anything.  I'm convinced that the fact that it's dark at basically 4pm is not helping the situation at all.  It just makes it that much more reasonable when I want to go to bed at 7 because it's been dark for 3 hours (even though it's barely been an hour since I got home from work).  This time of year is bad enough without 1st tri!
  • @zwink1 right??! I'm sluggish enough as winter nears without being pregnant. And then we deal with the hottest times of year when we're full term!

DH has always wanted a summer baby and now that he's getting that wish, I am seriously skipping sex September-November when we try for #2 so this never happens again 😂

  • Completely agree I just have no energy at all, I sound like a broken record saying I'm tired and hungry and grumpy to my husband every day
  • (whispers)
    Any suggestions for (looks around)...
    constipation?
  • @velvetblue88 I had the same issue a few weeks ago. It was bad.. I got some prunes and prune juice and I try to have some of one or the other every day. It has helped a lot! It really sucks! I tried metamucil but I ended up feeling really bloated and full and I don't think it really helped much. The prunes are easier to stomach, especially if you have nausea. It's hard to adjust to slower digestion. I feel your pain.   :#
  • @zinnia19 This morning I tried ~4oz of coffee with breakfast and it seemed to help some. But that can't always be my solution. My nausea hasn't been bad the last couple of days, so I might try prunes. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • @velvetblue88 I second prunes.. but go easy on them! A little goes a long way.
  • @velvetblue88 I'm glad you asked! I had the same question - guess I have to try some prunes as well!
  • @velvetblue88 Colace worked well for me in previous pregnancies. By the middle I was taking it daily as a suggestion from my OB. also though, if you enjoy coffee 1 small cup is ok 👍
  • My symptoms have been mild! Just diagnosed with covid today, fully vaccinated and very cautious. Super anxious about the baby. Supposed to get monoclonal antibodies ! Is there anyone out there that doesn’t feel super sick or nauseated at 10 weeks? It’s a blessing but a curse bc it’s hard not to worry!
  • @velvetblue88 I second the recommendation for colace. With my second daughter I got a hemorrhoid to boot and it was a lifesaver!
  • @blf2072 oh no! I hope you get well soon.

i also don’t have many symptoms at 10 weeks - they peaked at 8 and pretty much disappeared at 9 weeks. I have an US on Friday - really hoping baby is ok. I will keep you posted
  • @tuxielove93 that happens to me all the time, even before being pregnant. I used to worry my ovaries were going to explode 😂
