@mle_ Welcome! Glad to have another Ontario Mamma in here. There are a few of us in this group! I am all over the san pellegrino sodas and LaCroix coconut as well. The coconut is a rare treat for me though - hard to find. Have you tried the La Croix Limoncello? so good...Congrats on the pregnancy and new house. First homes in TO are expensive these days!
@realhousewife519 I have not tried the limoncello yet.. it’s officially added to my long weekend shopping list!
We actually moved out of the city to buy. From Yonge and Eglington to Innisfil (and I think it’s too expensive here too! Lolll) I wasn’t sure if there were many Ontarioians here, toronto is always easier to explain
Thank you for the welcome - looking forward to getting to know you more over the next few months!
Hello! I'm a first timer. This is actually my first post here. It's nice to meet everyone!
My due date is somewhere between 3/23 and 3/28... hopefully it will get a little more exact later on. Lol.
How we found out: My husband and I had just accepted promotions at the company we work for and they moved us from California to Montreal (which was crazy stfessful) so when my period was late, I thought it was because of the stress. But after 14 days, I took a home pregnancy test and it came back positive. Not great timing, but I'm still pretty excited.
About me: My husband and I are both animators. We work on video games. He plays them, but I don't lol. We have two cats, Shadow and Nutmeg, 11 and 10 yo respectively. We love hiking and until I got pregnant, I roller skated (quad skates) daily.
How I'm feeling: I'm nervous. I'm 37 and will turn 38 by the time or little sunflower seed is born. My OB has made me a bit nervous about my age. But my mom was in her mid 30s when she had me and my sister so I'm hopeful that we'll be okay.
FUN FACT: I have moved (different cities) as many times as years I've been alive.
@animator_mama Definitely do not stress about your age!!! Here (I'm in Ontario) they don't consider you to be on the older side of baby making until you're at least 42 (which I am this time around with this little potato). I had my first at 34, my second at 40, and I'll be 43 by my EDD this time around:) How are you guys liking Montreal so far?
@Panaceia Thank you. That helps put my mind at ease. I've never been to Ontario. I've heard it's beautiful. So far, we are enjoying Montreal. We're still working from our home office so we've gotten to be really flexible and explore the city a bit since we got here. We're still trying to figure out all of the different areas. Lol. But the people are so nice and everyone has been really understanding as we muddle our way through French.
Hi everyone! I am a Georgia girl born & raised living in the Carolinas. I am pushing 30 y/o and a Preschool Teacher for a small private school.
Due date? Mid March
How did you find out? I wasn't feeling well and decided to take a test. I got my BFP in July.
Tell us about yourself. . .
I am a mother of 3 older children (via DHs previous marriage) and 3 little boys ages 5 and under (biologically with DH). This baby will be #4 for us together and I am hoping for a girl. We are waiting to find out the gender again. That is always exciting! I'm looking forward to buying lots of girly items if we do in fact have a baby girl. DH works from home so I get a lot of help.
How are you feeling? I'm currently 12w+5d so my morning sickness has calmed down significantly. I'm starting to show a little and have a slight bit of aches and pains randomly. My stomach is itchy and my boobs are filling out more.. I'm planning to start doing some light pregnancy pilates and walking to be more active now that my stomach is more stable and energy is better.
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! I am a home birthing veteran, or "HBV" . . . I just made that up . This will be my 4th.
Hey! New here, but STM. I have been lurking a few days. I love how everyone participates in conversations! 13+4
Due date? March 15th
How did you find out? I grabbed a preg test stick instead of a ovulation stick like I thought. Since it was already opened, I thought, why not. Knowing it would be negative...to my joy, it was POSITIVE! I also took a digital to be sure because it was faint. I immediately told my husband..I am the world's worst secret keeper 😅
Tell us about yourself My husband and i have been married for 4 years and have a DD who is 23 months, 2 dogs and a cat. Job? Cashier Things you like to do? I love to read and grow flowers and vegetables
How are you feeling? I've had 2 prenatal appts with my family dr. More recently switched to an OB/GYN after a recent bleed i have that was determined to be an SCH(still absolutely terrifying) I'm nervous about my first actual OB appointment, not sure what to expect, if its much different from regular dr? With DD i seen my family dr the whole time. I'm still nervous about a loss. I had an early loss with my 1st pregnancy, almost a year to get pregnant with DD and only 3 months this time. With DD has an SCH as well. Okay, well that was way too detailed 😅
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! Hmmm....I have a cat that has a major attitude, like people are scared to come into my house because the cat might attack, but he LOVES all of us. 🤭 I usually put him away for company, unless its someone I'd like to leave soon..
@friends-fan So nice to see more March Mamas joining in! I think you'll find your OB appointment to be pretty much the same as your GP. I stayed with my GP through my entire first pregnancy, but because DD1 was an emergency c-section I went immediately to an OB for my second (since I knew I would be having a RCS). This time I'm with my OB but I love my GP so I'm straddling my OB appointments with GP appointments so that I can get heartbeat checks at least every 2 weeks to help with my anxiety from previous losses. The best of both worlds this time around;)
How did you find out? This baby was conceived via a Frozen Embryo Transfer so I tested 3 days after transfer.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have been married to my husband for 8 years and we have been together for 15. We have a 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Symptom wise I'm doing good, I've been a little nauseous but it is not bad.
I’ve been lurking these boards from a distance since I found out I was pregnant. Finally got up the nerve to say ‘hi’.
Due date? March 9th
How did you find out? My husband and I had been TTC so I took a test when AF was due to kick in, expecting a negative, because I don’t like to get my hopes up too high. Was shocked by a BFP before timer to check the test was up.
Tell us about yourself? I’m 27 and married nearly 4 and a half years now. My first pregnancy ended in a PPROM related stillbirth. My second pregnancy gave me my loving son who is 1 year and four months atm. This is my third pregnancy. We have a 16 year old cat and two guinea pigs that we’ve had about as long as we’ve been married. Generally I’m a stay at home mom devoted to my toddler, but when I have free time I like to draw, write, and play Pokémon or Animal Crossing.
How are you feeling? I’ve been constantly lowkey nauseous and phlegmy. My husband calls me a llama because I need to spit a lot… First trimester’s fatigue is still hanging around too. Because of my first pregnancy, I am forever flagged high risk so I’m seeing MFM in tandem with a regular OB, so far all looks good.
GTKY: My best friend lives across the US from me and we’ve been writing stories back and forth for about 13 years now. I won’t say they’re anything phenomenal to read, but it’s proof of my longest friendship to date.
How did you find out? I randomly decided to take a pregnancy test a few weeks after a vacation because i felt "off" but i figured taking the test would show negative and would calm my nerves. But suprise! I took three test and all positive. We had been trying so it was so exciting.
Tell us about yourself: I jist turned 29 and been married for 4 years. I am not 13 weeks and this will be our first child (inless you count our puppy haha). We recently had the blood test for gender but still have it sealed away in an envelope for now.
How are you feeling? So far ive ben feeling fine for the most part. I only got nauseous if i waited to long to eat but im tired all the time. No cravings yet.
Hello just joined again. I have been trying to conceive for 5 years. With 3 early 1st trimester losses. Always wanted to be a momma. Due date March 9th. This is the farthest we have gotten and the first baby we have gotten to hear the heartbeat 💓 We did iui on Father's day and tested positive on on July 1st. I was supposed to wait to test til July 4th 😂 My hubby and I have 2 cats an a dog and both work full time in the same grocery store 😊 I love spending time with my young nieces and having date days with my hubby.. we like hiking or riding the motorcycle (we got the motorcycle after we figured we wouldn't be getting pregnant) no more rides for me though.. 😊 I am pretty nervous but also optimistic that it will work this time we had actually given up an only did this iui because we had donor stuff we were paying storage for... I was freaking out when it was positive because I did not want to go through another loss.. but we have made it this far so I'm hoping for the best... Wishing everyone the best of luck with our March 2022 babies ❤
How did you find out? TTC 7 mo rainbow FRER and multiple beta confirmations draws till I believed it
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)I have 1 son a 3 yo and 1 angel Chloe lost at 22 weeks due to CMV contraction 8/7/20
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) feeling great hello second tri! Nervous yet faithful
GTKY: Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself! I have a rare genetic disorder
How we found out? I went to the dr the week before and she said I had a stomach virus. It wouldn't go away. Took 2 pregnancy tests the following week and they both showed positive!
Tell us about yourself: I'm a ftm, I'm 17 and a senior in high school. I'm having to be homeschooled because I was so sick in the first trimester I could barely get out of bed. I went from weighing 126 lbs down to 97 lbs in about 2 weeks. So far, the 2nd trimester has been so much better for me. We found out on October 10th that we're having a little boy!!
Our first appointment: I was a little scared and excited at the same time!
@maddie2003 welcome, I hope you find some great support here! I’m glad second tri is treating you better, being sick for weeks is awful and has to make school so rough.
I found out I was pregnant the day I was supposed to start my period I woke up happy, haha! I knew I felt way too cheerful and I waited til about mid morning to see if I would start and by 12pm I took three tests all coming back positive! Of course I couldn’t believe it so I took another two when I got home!
I am married, this is our first child! I work in the construction industry and manage the operations of a roofing company.
Now that I’m in the second trimester I am feeling great! The first trimester was really tough, I had (and still do) underestimated how pregnancy would really affect me. But everyday I am so grateful to be pregnant and I am soooo looking forward to being a mom!!
