Update, had my ultrasound today at 6 weeks 3 days. We could not see the heartbeat today we saw the gestational sac and fetal pole. Got to go again in one week! Praying to see that flicker!
Afm, I just poas and there was a squinter. I’m in a glass half empty/half full moment. I don’t know what to feel. I’ll check again tonight and the days leading to beta, well just to use up my expired sticks 😅
Sorry for the break, but I've been thinking about all of you and sending lots of sticky vibes!
@tinjp78 Thank you for the tip on the room deodorizers! We have an air purifier in there, so I've been cranking that puppy up as well. I had never heard of using dried tea bags and damp towels--that's a good idea! AND I'll definitely go glass half full on that squinter! FX it keeps getting darker!
@mojoflower I think all the oils and smudge sticks and bowls are cool! I don't use them myself, but I see the value and they could be good conversation starters, too! In my old building, which was much smaller, our downstairs neighbor used to do smudging, I think? Honestly, it made the entire building smell like she'd lit a pine tree on fire (not necessarily unpleasant, just definitely using a lot of it)--any idea what that might have been? I'm genuinely curious and I should have asked her. I kind of wish I was still there because we could have had dueling burning incensy smudge things. ;-)
@romeoandjuliet146 I'll join you in the exercise! DH and I finally did a workout the other day, and then I promptly got my period and I just get too crampy to workout for the first few days of that. I like the walking idea, and what a great way to honor your mom! As for the transfer, I was feeling like it was super far away, but since I started my period today and my baseline is tomorrow, I feel like it's coming up super fast and I'm not prepared! How are you feeling?
@KTB81 Welcome and congrats on being PUPO! FX these are your sticky embies!
@char0701 Ahhh that's so fantastic that you got to have your u/s today. Praying for that flicker at the next one!
AFM Baseline tomorrow!! We're in the transfer cycle now and I'm starting to get really nervous. I want to be super optimistic, but I think I'm starting to emotionally distance myself a little bit to stave off potential heartbreak. There was a great article about this in the NY Times the other day ("What to Expect When You're Expecting the Worst") that I definitely related to -- but LOTS of trigger warnings on that one.
@bababooty thank you for the welcome. Good luck with your baseline today!
Ladies, I am on day 3 of my 2ww and am nervously waiting. I had some cramps yesterday, but no symptoms today. No headaches, nausea, cramps or twinges. Did anyone else not have symptoms and get a BFP?
@tinjp78 Yes yes yes for that squinter!! So very happy for you!
@Bababatty I think it is safe to say we all have been there, so you are not alone with those feelings. Just try to focus on how close you are and be as positive as you can
@KTB81 Same boat here! Since transfer my symptoms come and go. We are bombarded with so many hormones so I think its normal
@romeoandjuliet146 Whew! You just made me feel ten times better. Thank you!!!!
@tinjp78 Go squinter go!!! I hear testing times are different or FET versus fresh because fresh still has hormones that can give a false. Alas, I guess I will just wait the two weeks out. I am so happy for you and the squinter!
@danij823 - fingers crossed for a strong beta on 8/2! @char0701 - congrats on the US!!!! sounds like good news is coming your way!
AFM, I transferred today at 12:30p. Everything went well except that my phone was dying and my husband couldnt hear us on facetime, but at least he could see! Beta on 8/6. Really praying #6 is the one that makes me a mom and us a family
Fingers crossed and prayers are said for you ladies every day! We've got this!
@danij823 7dpt is when I got my faint BFP. It’s a good sign!
@romeoandjuliet146 I’m due March 13th. I wish my clinic did the bears. I’m a sucker who would totally buy one. I wish we could be walking buddies. The PIO makes me SO tired and lazy
Thanks everyone for sending me good vibes. I (unintentionally) woke up an hour early for my poas schedule (I must be excited). I just stayed in bed and killed the time. When I got to the bathroom, I set up my cup and stick. Then, I forgot to collect my pee! 😳 Well, I tried to double void, and luckily I got a wee bit, so I still tried but did not expect so much. Well, what do you know- the squinter isn’t so much of a squinter today. I’m feeling cautiously optimistic and my plan is to take care of myself better today and increase my prayer and meditation time.
@Bababatty My friend (who is also doing IVF, but in Singapore) and I talked about moxibustion the other day. She also used that stick that you wave over your uterus area and she told me that that really brings out a lot of smoke and a very strong smell. I didn’t know about this. The usual ones that we have here in Japan have only mild smoke and sometimes we have the odorless ones. Good to know that your air purifier is there to manage the smells. Fx on you baseline today!
@romeoandjuliet146 So far, we have travelled only in Asia since we got married. We especially love Taiwan. We planned to visit Turkey, Israel or Dubai last year but Covid happened. We probably will be putting off our international travel plans until everything settles down. Both of us still have not gotten the jab yet. Where are you planning to travel this year?
@KTB81 Last year on my very 1st bfp, my symptoms were mild to none. Hang in there, I hope you’ll have something fun to distract you with in this 2ww. I watched Legally Blond 1 & 2 yesterday. I enjoyed seeing all that pink 😊
@danij823 Yay! Praying for more and more darker lines! Then after 8/2, we’ll be cheering on doubling numbers.
@romeoandjuliet146 I thought of you today because I was walking so much--I'm sure I hit 10,000 steps today. Awesome job on the walking and avoiding the sweets. Those are the hardest for me to stay away from, too. I have a soft spot for Sweettarts and it's frankly a miracle I didn't pop into CVS for them after acupuncture today. ;-)
I'm pretty sure I didn't have any symptoms prior to beta with my previous successful transfer. I think they started around 6 weeks.
@danij823 Happy to hear those lines are getting darker!
@tinjp78 LOVE what you're seeing on that test!! [Side note: I still haven't made it to Muji, so I'm just drinking pomegranate juice instead of the tea. :-(]
@ashleyhj29 Congratulations on being PUPO!! FX that this is the one!
AFM baseline today was great! I'm adding in my estrogen patch tonight, and go back on the 4th for more bloodwork. Still on for transfer on 8/16 (also, I've convinced myself that previously I wrote 8/18, but we're definitely looking at 8/16).
@strajn01 It does help having a walking buddy especially for motivation. I read just yesterday, in a pregnancy book, that the progesterone causes fatigue.
@tinjp78 I was waiting for your update. I am glad it is looking good! My husband's family lives in Washington. We may visit there and Oregon this year. Also, I loved the Rainbow Brite picture. I had the doll as a child. Brings back good memories.
@Bababatty Your comment made me smile since I saw it while I was walking. I'm glad you got your baseline done. Mine is Monday.
@romeoandjuliet146 ok, so maybe I haven’t been doing full on yard work, but I have been watering the plants and saving all the bees 🐝 that accidentally fly in my house. It feels like a lot 😁
@danij823 thank you for showing me your shot tracker. I do not have one. I’m making one on excel this afternoon. Actually you can probably download one online. That’s step one!
@Bababatty that is super funny about your neighbor and her smudging. Maybe she was trying to clear infertility juju and that was her crazy practice! You can buy smudge sticks in different types and I have seen evergreen leaves tied together for smudging. Im allergic so it looked awful to me but it is used.
@ashleyhj29 woohoo for your transfer! All the 💜 your way!
AFM had an US yesterday and my dr found a cyst on my left ovary. Bleh. It’s fine though after bloodwork they called and said I was good to start meds on the 30th. So I finally broke down and ordered all the meds. I knew how expensive it was going to be but it still shocked me. I’ve seen all the pictures of peoples huge box deliveries and still couldn’t believe it. Just blocked my calendar to start watching video of how to do the shots this afternoon. It feels really crazy that my doctors office doesn’t do some sort of training. I guess it can’t be that easy to mess up 🤷♀️ that’s the mantra I’m going to go with!
Feeling pretty down today. 4dpt. I took a fall last night. Tripped over my dog and his bed in the middle of the night and landed on my bottom. I’m just praying I didn’t cause any damage to the embryos and they stick. Beating myself up about it and had a long cry last night. I’m worried today- along with a possible broken toe and scraped knee. I don’t even care about that though and am just worried I hurt my chances.
@mojoflower That's still yard work. It's relaxing to be out in the yard. Have you got your house set up yet? Meds gets expensive. My lupron and progesterone was over $400! @danij823 Congratulations! Are you feeling any symptoms? @KTB81 I have tripped over dog beds before. You should be okay.
@mojoflower I’m sorry to hear about the cyst. I hope that it’ll go away on its own, soon. I also have several chocolate cysts on my left and right ovaries, the last measurement of them my dr told me was 26-28mm. Now, she doesn’t tell me anything abt the cysts, so I don’t pay attention to them anymore. Gl on the stims prep.
@mojoflower Thanks for the info on the smudging! I don't know that she was doing it for infertility, but I'm sure she had good reasons--and I hope it helped her. :-D I don't have a yard, but I'm currently doting on my houseplants so I appreciate your yardwork doing (and your saving of the bees). Sorry to hear about the cyst but I'm glad it's not going to be a dealbreaker! You probably already found them, but I really like the Freedom Teach videos. I use them every time I need to remind myself WTF I'm supposed to do with this needle. ;-)
@romeoandjuliet146 Yay! We're kind of walking buddies from a distance. ;-) I'll be doing a lot of walking tomorrow and I'll definitely think of you as I am.
@KTB81 I'm sorry you fell! I'm sure it will be fine, but I know it must be so stressful--plus the poor toe and knee injuries! I hope your dog at least cuddled with you afterward. Hugs!
@mojoflower sorry about the cyst. That’s great that you are still able to start the meds soon though. I joked that we were getting Chinese takeout when we got our meds because they put it in a huge brown bag like takeout. There were so many! After you do it a few times, you become a pro!
Hi everyone. I’m new again around here, and I just started birth control this week for our FET cycle that will hopefully end with a transfer right around Labor Day.
Our last round our insurance covered through Prodginy and all of our meds were ordered through there. This time around everything is going to be out of pocket.
My nurse just asked me where I want my meds Rx sent, and I guess I don’t know if a Target pharmacy is my best choice, or if there is a better pharmacy I should choose for cost effectiveness. This is new territory for us, and I just don’t want to spend way more than we need to.
@danij823 omg that is amazing! I'm definitely rooting for twins here given how dark your lines are!
Everything good here! Did my ERA this week (not the most exciting thing, but step completed!) and waiting on the results. We decided to take August off (we have family coming over and plan to travel some (which, with our luck, obviously meant that's all happening right when FET day would be) so looking to do my first FET in September!
Guyyyys!!! I’m sorry I was kind of off these couple days, I was crampy, cranky, and my boobs got shooting pains. Thanks for checking up on me @Bababatty and @romeoandjuliet146 .
But today , it’s confirmed!!! TW
Beta: 207 !!!
My dr looked surprised and of course happy for me, given the quality of the egg we transferred. This is my first 3-digit 1st beta. Ha! Would you look at that!!! I’m very happy for this result but I couldn’t be as ecstatic as my first bfp last year (2020, w/c led to a *tw* mc at 6wks). I’ve lost my confidence and I don’t know how to celebrate. Probably I’ll start with expressing my gratitude to God for this new chance.
I’ll still be taking my current meds: Premarin (Conjugated estrogen tablets) 3 tablets/day Duphaston (progestin) 3 tablets/day Estrana (Estrogen patches) 4 patches- every other day Lutinus (progesterone suppositories) 3x/day
Here are the added meds: Aspirin (brand: Bufferin) 1 after dinner Heparin (we will learn how to inject it on 8/2)
Also, my dr recommended that I get a test to determine if I have an antibody that causes mc. This is one of the newest studies here in Japan, luckily one doctor practicing near my city can perform this test to me.
I’m not sure if I’ll know my next beta results. The last time (2020), after I got my 1st beta, from the next appointments I only got pictures of the ultrasound scans to see the development of the baby. Anyway, we’ll go the the clinic 8/2 to have a training on how to inject Heparin, and 8/10 for the ultrasound scan.
My feelings exactly when dr handed me my beta score:
Re: July/August 2021 FET
@char0701 this is exciting. Grow baby grow. ❤️
