I’m 42 and DH is 40. We live here in Japan. We’ve been TTC/doing ART since 2016. I have endometriosis, low AMH, and cold hands and feet. We did 3 IUIs, 12 ERs, fresh and frozen transfers. On Jan. 15, 2020 I got my first BFP but heart beat stopped on week 6. I got a D&C and kept on having ER’s that whole year and got only 1 good egg, froze it and that is what we transferred last June 18,2021. Due to that D&C, I got an adhesion on my uterus that needed to be surgically removed. I had it in Feb of this year and had to have a silicon plate inserted in my womb for 2 months. I learned another kind of pain from that experience.
I just got my beta today from my June 18th, transfer, it was 12.3. I was extremely sad from the time I woke up today because I kind of had a hunch of our imminent failure announcement today, but as usual, I must wipe off these tears and keep on moving. Our last frozen embie is a 3-day 8cell non-PGS/PGD tested one. DH and I were ready to abandon this one because we thought it wasn’t worth transferring, but today I felt like I still want to give it a chance. Hopefully we can transfer it next month.
Although I don’t have big expectations for my next FET, I’m praying real hard that we’ll have more positive news on this thread than the negative ones (or no negatives at all?)
Thank you for starting this thread @tinjp78 I am so sorry to hear about your beta results. I can only imagine how difficult that news was to receive, especially given your TTC journey. I'm sending you and your last frozen embie all the positive vibes. You'll be in my thoughts ♥♥♥

I am doing my first FET this Saturday (7/3) since having my son back in 2017. I have 3 frozen embryos remaining from my 2016 retrieval, 2 blasts and 1 not so good. I'm soooo worried about them surviving a 2nd thaw but trying to remain positive. My RE is not concerned so I'll take that. I started my PIO injections today, which are 2x/day. I always do the injections myself so I was nervous about starting them again and it kept me up 1/2 the night. But b/c of that I woke up late and was in a rush so I didn't have time to think about it, just had to do it and go. Relieved to be past the initial injection.
I'm glad to have this community again as it was a major source of support for me while TTC my son. I wish us all the best of luck this cycle, may it be the one!
@MicronesianMamma Welcome! Thank you for your kind words and for keeping me in your thoughts, you will be in mine too 😊. Your transfer is just around the corner, I’ll be rooting for you and your embies. Btw, will you be transferring the 3 that you have, all in this cycle? And good job on your PIO injections! In the years I’ve been in this rodeo, not once have I administered any injectables on my own, DH gives it to me. And I’ve heard ladies tell their experience here and it scares me a lot! But you did it!!!! The next ones would be easier, I hope and pray. I know you got this. ❤️
@tinjp78 I'm not sure yet. I know I want to do at least 2 but I haven't fully committed to any number since I'm still waiting to see how many survive rethaw. I did my best 2 last time and 1 stuck. None of my embies were tested.
@MicronesianMamma I’ll be praying that the rethaw for your 3 embies would be a success. 🙏
AFM, still waiting for AF. I POAS this morning and was still hoping for a miracle. When I looked at the stick, I didn’t know what to think so I just laughed at myself.
I’m with you @tinjp78 my husband did/does all my injections, even the SubQs for a stim cycle. It makes it easier for me to relax, and he doesn’t seem to mind.
I hope you don’t mind my posting here. I’m kind of in between. I had my transfer at the tail end of June, rocking the 2ww for betas now.
Thanks @tinjp78 I would have done the same as you and POAS hoping for a miracle. I always think like that - I read stories about other women who experienced miracles like that after negative POAS or low betas and I was like, if that can happen to them, maybe it can happen to me?! Hopefully AF comes soon!
Welcome @strajn01 So exciting! Fx you've got a sticky one! You're strong for holding out till the 2nd to POAS! I'm about to order cheapies from Amazon so I can POAS a gazillion times, probably starting 2 days after transfer jaja.
AFM...I'm getting really anxious. The one thing that's keeping me from getting too anxious is the fact I feel like total s#*t from the PIO. I posted a separate discussion about experiencing flu like symptoms this time around and it's still going strong. Tylenol helps but I feel horrible if I forget to take it after my injections. Today I got labs done for progesterone levels and 1/2 way there I got chills and started feeling really nauseous. Had to stop at Target for Tylenol.
@strajn01 FX on your beta! Feeling hopeful and scared are quite constant feelings in this progress, but let our hope be stronger. I’ll be praying for fantastic numbers on your beta date. Do u have to wait for it at your clinic or will they just call you?
@MicronesianMamma I’m so sorry you still got those nasty effects from your PIO. Hang in there, your FET is tomorrow... wowowwow!!! Sending you sticky sticky vibes as early as now.
AFM, AF came today so I’d go to my clinic tomorrow. I’ve been feeling severe cramps from yesterday, especially *sorry TMI* on my rectum. I’ve taken pain killers for it. Right now I’m just lying here on the couch and can’t do anything. DH and I haven’t eaten anything for breakfast yet (it’s almost lunch time) and he is also just on the couch with me, reading. It’s his day off. I wonder who would be the first one among us who will suggest eating/cooking.
@tinjp78 I forgot you’re in Japan and I’m like tomorrow? Did I accidentally post transfer is on the 2nd? Lol. Japan is on a short list of places I must go. I actually have distant cousins in Sapporo that I would love to visit. We have only gotten together a few times when they come to the US for funerals. But seem very cool. They founded a long running craft beer bar there so that will be a stop for sure!
Anywho…glad AF showed. Sorry about the cramping. Are you able to find any position that provides relief? Rectum pain is horrible and is one of the areas where it’s so hard to find a comfortable position. I hope it subsides soon. And I’m glad you finally got something to eat courtesy of DH! Sounds yummy
Oops sorry about the time zone confusion @MicronesianMamma . I got too excited Yeah, I also can’t wait for this Covid situation to be behind us so we can do what we did before, like traveling. Anyway, for the meantime I’ll just be focusing on what needs to be done at this moment.
My cramps have now subsided, probably due to the pain killers. The best position for me while having them was lying on the side. 💕
@MicronesianMamma I’m sorry the PIO is giving you such a hard time. Sounds awful. Are you finding the Tylenol helpful?
@tinjp78 I get cramps like that sometimes. Feels like someone is stabbing you in the bum. Glad you’re feeling better!
AFM **tw**
I POAS. There were 2 lines!!! The second one was faint, but it was there! I’ve never had a BFP before.
I also bought a cheap pack. It’s Friday here, you can bet I’m using one every day until my beta Monday. I assume they’ll call me later in the afternoon. That’s how all the other bloodwork has gone.
Hello everyone I am 30 and my DH is 32. We live in Charleston. We got pregnant 06/2016 with an ectopic then again November 2016 another ectopic resulting in removal of the tube and a referral to Fertility Specialist. I now have only one Fallopian tube which is blocked. We did genetic testing as well everything there came back fine. We have done two retrievals. First transfer was a day 2 B quality embryo resulting in a miscarriage at 5 weeks, the remaining 3 embryos from that fertility center all failed. We did a blastocyst AA transfer in 03/2021 which failed. We had another blastocyst AA FET on 07/01/2021 with the beta scheduled 07/09. The transfer we just did was after an ERA determined the window of receptivity needed 24 more hours of progesterone. So this was the first embryo transferred in my appropriate window. I’m so tired of all the BFN. Really hoping this embryo sticks!
Hi friends! I wanna join here too! My transfer is July 21st. I just had baseline bloodwork and U/S this morning, waiting for my nurse to call and let me know if we're on! This will be my first transfer. It's a 5BB Euploid Girl embryo @tinjp78 Happy you're able to get back on the horse so quickly! I'm rooting for you !
@char0701 I’m terribly sorry for all the heartbreaks you’ve been through. I admire your (&DH’s) persistence and determination to keep on going amidst these hardships. I’m rooting for you and praying that you’ll get a great news on 7/9!!! ❤️
@danij823 Thanks! I’ll be rooting for you as well. Have a fun and happy preparation 😊
Hi, everyone. I would like to join. I won't have my transfer until August since they found a polyp during my saline ultrasound today, so have to have that removed.
Rest of story in spoiler since TW *child mentioned* *loss mentioned*
My little one is three, I was hoping to have my second FET last year but then covid happened, so wanted to wait until this year, then my wonderful Mom died recently before I got to start the process on the second FET. My Mom was with me through it all, failed IUIs, miscarriage, IVF, so it is going to be difficult going through all this without her.
I had my first beta today, 8 days post blastocyst transfer with a beta result of 35 they claim that’s within range for a starting point…..we repeat labs Sunday. Praying theses numbers rise substantially!
I am (unfortunately) not new to this process as I am prepping for FET #6 at the end of July/early August. Our journey has truly run the gamut from chemical + ectopic pregnancies to miscarriages. But all that won't get me down!!!!
I got the green light at baseline on Wednesday and have another lining check on Monday. My last transfer was canceled bc my lining never got thick enough. Ironically, at baseline, my lining was at 8mm....so annoying. They are hopeful that since I'm starting off on the thicker side, that my lining will be at least 8mm for transfer.
We are doing an assisted natural cycle, meaning I'm using my cycle (unmedicated) to grow my lining, then when I look close to ovulation, I will take cetrotide to stop the ovulation process and start progesterone.
Really hoping this is the one guys....for all of us!
hi @ashleyhj29 Same thing happened to me. I tried an unmedicated cycle but my lining didn't get thick enough. I will be doing a medicated cycle this time.
@ashleyhj29 Welcome to the summer group and oh my gosh looking at your history I really hope this is your time love! I also have a lining check on Monday! They didn't tell me what mine was at baseline. Your protocol sounds pretty awesome! I hate being pumped full of all this crap. I'm looking forward to some great updates!
@romeoandjuliet146 Welcome and I’m sorry to hear about your mom. I’m sending you tight hugs right now. I’m praying for your polyp removal procedure. When is it btw?
@ashleyhj29 Welcome! I love what you said at your intro:
But all that won't get me down!!!!
This is one reason why appreciate these boards, I get encouragements that keep me going in my own journey 😊
I usually don’t have lining issues but when my doctor would notify me that the thickness has not yet reached the measurement that we hope, I start to drink pomegranate tea. I try to watch out with this one because my lining would get really thick when I drink too much. At baseline check, if my dr would tell me my lining wasn’t thick enough I’ll drink one cup of pomegranate tea every other day until my next appointment, I usually stop after this time because my lining reaches its ideal thickness already.
@strajn01 and @char0701 I’m also hoping for your numbers to go up and up! 🙏
AFM The FF is my initial protocol for this FET:
Premarin (Conjugated estrogen tablets) 4 tablets a day from 7/3-7/9. Premarin - 2 tabs from 7/10-7/14. Estrana (Estrogen patches) 7/10, 7/12, 7/14.
@tinjp78 my procedure is July 19th then hopefully transfer on August 20th. I am going to have to check out pomegranate tea. I do like the POM drinks.
I appreciate these boards as well. It is nice to be able to communicate with others going through similar experiences. I pray we all have successful cycles, and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.
@romeoandjuliet146 I will be praying for your polyp removal! Sorry to hear about your moms as well. Hopefully you will be receiving some good news your way these next coming weeks!
@tinjp78 praying July is the month you receive the news you have been longing for!
Update: we did my repeat beta today and it rose appropriately today at 94. Since it’s so early they will repeat another beta on Tuesday.
Thanks @char0701 . Though we actually aren’t expecting so much from our 3-day 8-cell embie, I’m really a strong believer that miracles do happen. I really really hope that this would succeed this time.
Congratulations on the beta result today. I’d be praying for more good news for you. Pls keep us posted 💕
Lining check today showed that it went down a little bit, but that's to be expected as I was still bleeding. I am at 7.4 now and have another check on Thursday. Waiting for it to become tri-laminar and will get the green light for transfer.
@danij823 how did your check go? @romeoandjuliet146 so sorry about your mom. my dad passed unexpectedly right before my wedding. There is never a good time, but I will tell you that time does make it easier to deal with, but the pain never truly goes away. lots of love to you and your family @char0701 congrats on your beta!!! keeping those fingers crossed for you! @tinjp78 where do you get the pom. tea????
