@ashleyhj29 Nice! I'm glad things are looking good for you! What cycle day are you? I'm on day 7. My nurse said everything looks good, lining is at 7 and multi-layered and estrogen is 175. She is increasing my estrogen dose in hopes that number will get to where they want it to be for transfer. She said 7 is perfect for now but I dunno. This is my first transfer so everything is new to me. I go back Wednesday.
@danij823 I am CD 6 and my estrogen is >25 since I'm not on any meds. Hoping my body will kick into the luteal phase and start getting the estrogen up and my uterus tri-l. 7mm is a great number! They really want anything near 8mm.
AFM I was able to schedule the polyp removal for Wed morning instead of next week. Currently on birth control and got my meds for this cycle ordered. Looking forward to getting a calendar, so I know when to start my meds.
@danij823 I’m glad that things are lining up well for you and I hear you on Googling everything up 😉
@ashleyhj29 I got my Pom tea from a store called Muji. My search showed there are Muji stores in NY, Boston and Oregon. The Pom tea is from Germany. The exact name for the one I’m drinking is Organic Tea Pomegranate & Rosehip for cold water. But I like to drink this hot.
@romeoandjuliet146 I had (my first) 3 sessions of acupuncture treatment 5 months before I got my very first pregnancy but *TW* sadly I miscarried at 6weeks *end TW*. I’m planning to have another one this coming Friday since my FET might be next week, hopefully. Gl on your polyp removal on Wed.
Hello! New to the forum/boards world, tough not so new to IF. Hope is still ok to join, since my transfer was on Sunday 07/11 and this is not a true FET. It was my nurse who suggested I join a board so I could talk to people that speak my same language. My husband is super supportive but most of the time he doesn’t understand everything that goes around IF and I feel frustrated.
Long story short, TW- this is my 4th transfer, first and second I miscarried at around 6 weeks, third one did not take (all 3 from the first batch of frozen eggs). Fortunately my insurance opened the coverage to all clinics and we decided to transfer our second and last batch of frozen eggs to a small practice. I felt the previous clinic (largest in the state) was the type of one protocol fits all and I wanted to have a more personal approach. This new RE made a few changes, a single Lupron depot shot vs multiple daily shots and added aspirin and Medrol. Also this time for estrogen I am taking pills and injections instead of patches and for progesterone, she added suppositories to the daily injections. Praying this one works because a new retrieval is not an option, since I am 46 now and based on the tests it would probably result in 0 eggs (did 2 retrievals 8 years ago and froze 2 batches of 8 eggs each). On Sunday we transferred 1 embryo and have 2 left to freeze. Now trying to hold on testing at home as much as I can, I know I will but I do not want to test too early this time. First beta is on 07/19.
Hi everyone! I posted a new girl intro and I’m glad to have you all to join especially because I’m being super secretive IRL about the process right now. I’m currently on BC and will start stunning on July 30th with a tentative August 11th ER.
@gabriellem99 welcome and sending you lots of calm energy for you 2WW and good juju for your Beta!
@romeoandjuliet146 im so sorry about your mother. I currently have an acupuncture appt every 3 weeks to help with migraines. I do plan to continue and hit up all the magical fertility points soon. I am a strong believer in more is more 😁
@romeoandjuliet146 fingers crossed on the polyp removal. Let us know how everything goes!
My beta was appropriate today and continuing to double. They plan to check it an additional time on Friday. I hope everyone is getting good news this week!
@mojoflower Thank you! really struggling with the wait...got all my hpt marked with dates this morning and saved the hcg calculator link to my browser and now I don't know what else to do!! As you, the reason I came here (and I am so glad I did, such amazing group of supportive women) is because no one knows we are trying again, not even my immediate family, so I really need and appreciate not feeling alone.
@gabriellem99 Welcome! I’m glad that you found us here. I’m sorry for all that you’ve gone through. IF is indescribably hard and the struggle is oh so real. Having to share even the tiniest thing in your mind to someone who can relate and would truly understand is so precious. For me it feels like getting some air after you’ve been holding your breath underwater. It’s such a release. On my first year of doing ART, I also kept it a secret to my family and friends and these boards provided me a wonderful support. Hoping your 2ww would be pleasant and you’d have fun and relaxing stuff to distract you during the wait for the first beta. 💕
@char0701Yay!!! Praying for more doubling numbers!!! ❤️
AFM I just got out of my clinic and feeling panicky now. My lining is at 6.5mm which is unusual for my time frame as I usually have 10mm during this time around. And I kind of know the reason 😭 My lazy ass had been slacking around watching an old TV series (Dexter- crime drama mystery), well I tried to do something productive and scanned all of my docs, receipts, etc from my ART treatments from 2016, and now I’m in season 6 of Dexter 😅 I’ve neglected my nutrition and didn’t do any work out for a week.
Now, my plan is to have red meat for dinner today, eat avocados, drink Pom tea daily until transfer day, do some work out after work, and I’ve bumped my sched for acupuncture to tomorrow. This feels like cramming for an exam *sigh*.
Dr. added one more Estrogen patch for me, now it’s four patches. She’ll see me again the day after tomorrow. I hope my lining would be better by that time.
@tinjp78 During my previous transfers my RE prescribed patches (doing injection and pills this time), and every time I ended using 4 and my lining looked good on the US prior to the transfer, so hopefully that + all the good things you are eating/doing for your body will do the trick :)
So I’m having crazy anxiety and stress this week. I’ve had 4 betas. My levels keep going up, but they aren’t doubling as expected. So no one can tell me if I’m pregnant or not.
For now I’m still on estrogen and PIO. They went ahead and scheduled US for Tuesday. I’m trying to stay positive, but the odds are it won’t go well.
@strajn01 I know that feeling, it’s awful. Please hang in there. The baby is probably just a slow starter. I remember a lady here once who also had the same case wherein the numbers were low at first and then they just went to the thousands one day. Let’s keep hoping and praying. Take care of yourself today and keep on thinking positive. Do something you love today that would make you feel relaxed and happy. 💕
@romeoandjuliet146 Good job dear!!! I’m glad that your procedure went well and those polyps are gone. Dexter is fun to watch but I skip all the scenes where Deb Morgan is in, her character is so toxic 😁
@gabriellem99 I think I haven’t tried injected Estrogen, only the patches. I was actually almost gonna suggest/ask abt that to my Dr yesterday. If my lining isn’t above 8 on tomorrow’s US, I’ll probably go ahead and ask abt it. Have a great day to you and to your little one who’s growing and growing inside you.
@tinjp78 Good luck today! I hope your lining is fluffing up over 8 for you! Mine was 7 on Monday and 8.8 Wednesday so hoping the same for you! PS. I also despise Deb Morgan
@romeoandjuliet146 Glad you got those polyps out so now you'll have a nice cozy home for your embaby!
@strajn01 I can't imagine the stress level you must be at right now! Sorry you have to deal with this and I'm hoping so hard that you get good news on Tuesday!
I gave myself my trigger shot this morning and I start PIO tomorrow. Transfer is Wednesday. I have no idea how it's possible to feel this excited and terrified at the same time..
Hi @danij823 . Congrats on on the latest feat you’ve recently overcome. I haven’t tried injecting anything to myself with a needle. I have a fear of needles and broken glass. Once, when DH cut himself while opening a vial of my HMG, I almost fainted 😳 Also, I haven’t tried a Natural Cycle FET, which you are on right now. I’ve just read about it and it seems interesting. I’m so looking forward to your transfer day. Oh wait! If I get the green light tomorrow, then I’ll probably be transferring next Wednesday too! We’d be transfer buddies 🥰
Hello ladies, I'd like to join you here. I'm doing somewhat of a surprise FET on Monday -- I thought it would be a medicated FET but a check showed I had a good lining, so going forward with natural FET on Monday. Fingers crossed for all of you.
Lining check today at CD 9 and my lining is still 7.4mm. To be expected since my follicles are still around 9mm. I go back Sunday for another check. In the meantime, I'm drinking my Raspberry Leaf tea and eating beets haha! Any other tricks??
@danij823 GET IT GURL! Proud of you for doing your own injection. It is not easy, but you have to look back and laugh at some point. I've given myself PIO in some STRANGE locations...train station, bar, car, work bathroom, church...
@tinjp78 do you know what cycle day (CD) you're on? 6mm is average for CD 1-9....it only starts increasing once your estrogen kicks in and your follicles are growing.
@lrynwnab Welcome!!! I love surprises. I hope this surprise FET would give you the happy surprise that we all aim for. FX on Monday.
@ashleyhj29 I was on CD 13 when I got that 6.5. Now is CD 15 and on my way to my clinic. I hope I get a good result today. My acupuncture session yesterday was terrific. My acupuncturist told me that my timing to get the therapy was good and it is better to go there again after my transfer (7/21). But since it’s a non-working holiday here in Japan from 7/22-7/24 because of the Olympics opening, I can have my post transfer acupuncture on 7/26. This is new to me because I have never had acupuncture after an FET.
@romeoandjuliet146 Yeahhhh, I think all of her lines contain at least one cuss, I’m so thankful for the skip/FW button.
*Update*
My uterus is being weird today and my u/s was a bit painful. Dr said she couldn’t see my lining very well so she decided that the status of my lining is the same as last time. Anyway, we’ll transfer on 7/21. Though I feel I have enough stock of hope in me, this weird lining and the quality of our embie are making me prepare for a predicament that many of us are aware of. Oh well, I’ve bought my latest fun lucky charm, a pineapple scrunchie to throw in some positive feel in this uninspiring FET. But I’ll still definitely do my best to be in good shape and ready for Wednesday’s transfer.
*A vent*
DH and I spent 4 hours in the clinic, just to have my u/s, talk to the dr and get my prescription for my transfer. This is not the first time, the average waiting time for me in this clinic is 2hrs. But lately, I’m feeling that they’ve been putting me at the end of the line. I feel like they already want to get rid of me because I’ve been going there since 2017. I like everybody in my clinic, they are always polite and courteous and, like today, the nurse apologized for the delay. I don’t know why I’ve got these nasty thoughts about them. I might be just on edge or something (Deb Morgan?) but DH and I have decided that this will be our last dance here and we’ll be moving to a new one in case this transfer turn out to be a bust. Probably a fresh start/ new environment would be better for us. I just really really hope for this transfer to work. 🙏
@tinjp78 I hear you on the clinic and considering changing later and I know is hard, but try to focus on today and this transfer. Really hope this one works for you. I have been reading some boards lately and there are so many success stories with embryos that are not the greatest quality.
AFM - TW Tested yesterday around 5 pm with a dollar store HPT and there was a very very faint line, but...yes always a but with IF right? tested this morning with FMU and from what I can see so far this one is lighter. I will test later today to compare with the same time. For now, just enjoying the positive and trying not to obsess about lines.
@tinjp78 Yay Transfer Buddies!! !! I hope it's a lucky day! That is a crazy long wait! I've never been in my clinic longer than an hour, even for procedures. That's ridiculous! I hate that feeling. It feels like you're annoying them kinda. I feel the same way about mine. 5 more days!
@danij823 ridiculous right? That was the last straw. Whatever the result with this transfer might be, we’d be saying sayonara to this clinic. Of course, I’ll still keep them close to my heart for the 4 years we’ve been together. Anyway, I’ll be getting rid of these negative aura and gonna try to do calming activities to prepare for our Wednesday transfer.
@gabriellem99 Im happy and excited to see your update! Hoping and praying for that line to get darker and darker. This is it!!!
Hi all! I'm jumping in because we have a FET tentatively scheduled for 8/16 (programmed cycle) and I start my Lupron tonight. I'm off to my first acupuncture session of this FET attempt in a little bit.
A little bit more about me (*TW* loss, pregnancy):
My husband and I struggled with IF for 3 years (6 IUIs, 2 ERs, 5 embryo transfers [3 FETs, 2 fresh], 3 CPs [1 transfer didn't take at all]) before finally conceiving DD in October 2018 on our fifth transfer. We have one more PGS normal embryo at our current clinic and one untested embryo at our first clinic. We're both older (I'm now 38, he's 41), so we'd intended to transfer our last PGS normal embryo last year, but with COVID we decided to hold off. So here we are! I've forgotten the multitude of things I did during my last FET (e.g., baby aspirin, pomegranate juice, pineapple), so I should probably find my copy of It Starts with the Egg again, lol. I did do acupuncture on that last transfer (which I hadn't previously), and while my RE insisted that we not say it was the acupuncture that helped, I'm not going to say it DIDN'T help, lol.
@tinjp78 I think I remember you from my last go around and I'm sorry to hear about your struggles! FX for success next week! Thank you for the tip on the pom tea -- I live in NY and I have to go to Manhattan this week, so I'll see if I can pop into Muji.
@Bababatty Hey love, of course I remember you 🥰 Thanks for your kind words and thoughts. As early as now I’m sending you my wishes for a successful transfer, sticky 2ww and fun and smooth 9 months.
@tinjp78 Good luck on your transfer Wednesday! 2 hours to wait is a long time!
@gabriellem99 Congrats! Were you testing everyday? I always wonder how long it takes, after a transfer, for a test to show positive, and was considering testing whenever I did my transfer.
@Bababatty Welcome! Your transfer is a few days before mine on 08/20. I start Lupron tomorrow.
Afm, as prep for the transfer, I’m taking Duphaston (progesterone tabs) and Premarin (conjugated estrogen tabs) 3x/day, for 5 days, Progesterone suppositories (3x/day), three days before the transfer - antibiotics and Toviaz (antimuscarinic drug) to avoid to much uterine contraction.
@tinjp78 Thank you for the well wishes! I'm so hopeful this will be the little embryo that could for you! How are the drugs treating you right now?
@romeoandjuliet146 Thanks for the welcome! I'm excited to be close transfer buddies with you. Good luck with the Lupron today!
AFM acupuncture was great yesterday. I've always said that even if it does nothing, it's at least a nice 30-45 minute rest. She also gave me a moxibustion stick, which I've never used before, which is like an incense or smudge stick to wave over my uterus every night. Since it's an external thing (rather than consuming an herbal medicine, which I--and I'm sure my RE--would prefer not to do), I figured I'd give it a go. I'm going back on Wednesday for another session. Otherwise, our first Lupron injection was a success last night so I'm just hanging out.
@Bababatty It’s great that your Lupron injection went well yesterday, as well as your acupuncture appointment. On my first acupuncture session, I was very tensed but my therapist has this very relaxing aura and her touch just makes me wanna sleep. On my latest session last week, she had put a direct moxibustion on my stomach area and some small stick ons on different parts of my body. She concentrated on my feet area, I also feel that I’ve got a lot of issues in there.
About the effects of my meds on me, I’ve already given up on paying attention to them. But since I’ve started on progesterone, I have unquenchable thirst, tender breasts and feels dizzy from time to time. Have fun on your next acupuncture session on Wed 😊
@romeoandjuliet146 I am a very early tester (and a little obsessive too), so I always start testing 3 days after transfer which I know is suuuper early. On my 2 previous pregnancies (TW both miscarried at 6 weeks), a line appeared on day 3 and the second one on day 4. This time on day 3 and 4 with FMU it was the whitest white, tested again on day 4 afternoon and there was a very very faint line.
AFM - Thank you all for the good vibes on my BFP. Still nervous as the lines were getting a little darker but still were very faint, compared to previous transfers. I just got back from the clinic and waiting for the call on the results, they said they 'hope' to have a result later today, it is a small practice so they don't have a in-house lab. And I found out they are only doing a second beta on Wed and then a US at around 6 weeks.
Girls, my butt is so sore and bruised already! I've only been on PIO for 4 days! I watched a ton of videos, researched and followed my nurse's advice. I was thinking it would eventually suck but not right away.. am I broken? I hope it's all worth it! Transfer in two days!
Hey ladies. Had my transfer this morning. The embryo looked good and all was smooth. I’m at peace knowing I’ve given this one my best shot. 8 days until beta. I should be pretty busy so I think it will go fast. Thanks for your positive thoughts!
@danij823 so sorry for the bruised booty. Unfortunately I think that is normal. Hang in there! Ice could be your friend!
@gabriellem99 congrats on the BFP! I am an early tester too. Usually first test on the night of 4DPT; this time I'm going to try to wait until the night before beta but we'll see.
@danij823 I am doing good so far and here is the trick from my nurse...no ice! I used to put ice before the shot, but she says it might thicken the oil going in and to be honest the no ice shot is not that bad and you will get use to. After the shot massage the area for a couple of minutes and then walk for a couple more. Also alternate sides.
@lrynwnab Congratulation on your transfer! Sending sticky vibes to you and hope the next days go by fast.
AFM - trying the spoiler thing for the first time so hopefully I do it right. Just got my beta results
Beta 1: 120!! So I am pregnant. And not looking at previous results to compare. Just praying it doubles by Wed.
Edit: Had to edit the spoiler because of course did not work the first time.
@danij823 I think massaging is probably the best thing you can do to ease the bruising/pain. Do you have a foam roller or a tennis ball you can use?
@tinjp78 Bah, sorry about the progesterone side effects! I'm glad to hear your acupuncturist is so relaxing and has a great aura. And also glad to hear that you've also tried moxibustion. Were they patches? I've never tried it before so I don't know all the different variations acupuncturists might use. I did like the warming sensation from waving the stick over my uterus when I tried it last night. But I was stressed about dropping some ash on my tummy--and also about my neighbors potentially smelling it, since it does smell like pot and I'm in an apartment (I couldn't smell it outside our bedroom, though, so it's probably all good). I'll try to relax more tonight, lol.
@tinjp78 and @Bababatty I tried moxibustion before. I think it was a patch. What is it supposed to do for the uterus? I had tried it for a different reason other than fertility.
@danij823 Almost transfer day I forgot about how much PIO hurts, but it is worth it in the end.
@irynwnab Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing good news from you!
@gabriellem99 That is good advice. I forgot about how massage can help after PIO. Congratulations on your beta. Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months and look forward to more updates!
AFM I had my polyps removed Wed then on Saturday started feeling like I had a UTI. I was able to go back to my doctor today, take a test and gets some meds. It has been an uncomfortable few days, so hoping the meds kick in quickly.
Thank you for all the advice girls! I had heard PIO suck, I just wasn't really expecting it to be like this. Transfer is tomorrow!! How are you feeling transfer buddy @tinjp78?! @irynwnab That's an amazing attitude and not a terrible wait! Rooting for you! @romeoandjuliet146 Ugh on top of everything else. Geez, hope you start feeling better soon! @gabriellem99 That's wonderful! Sending you positive vibes for doubling!
@romeoandjuliet146 I’m pretty new to the experience of acupuncture and moxibustion. But what my therapist told me, that it can help me warm up my cold body. Like acupuncture, moxibustion helps in improving blood circulation and the uterus, especially, needs a good supply of it during our ART/IVF cycles, thus the claim that moxibustion helps in treating IF. I found these while reading up on the topic:
While needles have a harmonizing effect on the subtle energies of the body and the central nervous system, moxa stimulates tissue and organ repair and improves immune functioning through its effect on the blood.
Research has demonstrated that moxibustion is beneficial in relieving pain, reducing inflammation, and supporting the immune system by activating white blood cell activity.
The one used in me in my treatments look like this (photo not mine):
@danij823 I’m feeling all sorts of feelings right now, buddy, but mostly nervous. I’m kind of over thinking again like a mad person. One minute, I feel this is gonna work and then the next minute I’m trying to comfort myself and telling me this would probably fail and I must accept it as soon as possible so I won’t get so hurt again. Plus, I still don’t know if my egg will survive the thaw. I’ll just know it a few hours before my ET schedule. Oh boy, I’m exhausted already. Anyway, I’ve already cut my pineapple and have some pieces of its core over breakfast tomorrow. And DH and I have decided on where we will have our lunch (mostly veggies buffet). Then I asked a favor from my 2 younger sisters to give me something to laugh at (eg jokes, stories, vids etc). I wanna laugh for at least 15mins right after ET. How about you, how are you doing?

@ashleyhj29 Sorry about your dad. Thank you for your kind words. I read " It Starts with the Egg" since the author updated it with FET tips. She mentions Vitamin E being helpful because it " boosts cell numbers in the uterine lining and promotes development of new blood vessels."
Has anyone tried acupuncture? I was considering it since I heard it might be helpful before an FET.

@strajn01 Sorry you have to go through this. I hope you get some good news soon.
@tinjp78 Ha, I know what you mean about Deb Morgan. I remember she uses a ton of profanity.
@danij823 I'm excited for you! My transfer is on 08/20. I know this probably does nothing, but I am still going to eat pineapple after my transfer. I also have pregnancy tests waiting, but not sure if I will test after my transfer. Will you? I have never given myself a shot before, but will have to give myself the Lupron injection when my husband is out of town.
@ashleyhj29 You're brave! That would be hard for me to give myself the PIO injections.
*Update*
AFM - TW
Tested yesterday around 5 pm with a dollar store HPT and there was a very very faint line, but...yes always a but with IF right? tested this morning with FMU and from what I can see so far this one is lighter. I will test later today to compare with the same time. For now, just enjoying the positive and trying not to obsess about lines.
@gabriellem99 Im happy and excited to see your update! Hoping and praying for that line to get darker and darker. This is it!!!
A little bit more about me (*TW* loss, pregnancy):
@lrynwnab Good luck on Monday!
@gabriellem99 Congrats on your BFP!
@danij823 Good luck with your transfer!
@romeoandjuliet146 Thanks for the welcome! I'm excited to be close transfer buddies with you. Good luck with the Lupron today!
AFM acupuncture was great yesterday. I've always said that even if it does nothing, it's at least a nice 30-45 minute rest.
@lrynwnab Congratulation on your transfer! Sending sticky vibes to you and hope the next days go by fast.
AFM - trying the spoiler thing for the first time so hopefully I do it right. Just got my beta results
Edit: Had to edit the spoiler because of course did not work the first time.
@lrynwnab Happy PASP to you!!! Sending you sticky sticky vibes.
@gabriellem99 wooohooo!!! Congratulations!!!! Praying for more and more doubling beta to come! Dancing for joy in here 😉
@lrynwnab Sending you all the sticky vibes!!
@danij823 I think massaging is probably the best thing you can do to ease the bruising/pain.
@tinjp78 Bah, sorry about the progesterone side effects!
@danij823 Almost transfer day
@irynwnab Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing good news from you!
@gabriellem99 That is good advice. I forgot about how massage can help after PIO. Congratulations on your beta. Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months and look forward to more updates!

I had my polyps removed Wed then on Saturday started feeling like I had a UTI. I was able to go back to my doctor today, take a test and gets some meds. It has been an uncomfortable few days, so hoping the meds kick in quickly.
