Re: February Appointments

  • @emeraldcity1214 I feel like I can safely say I’ll never be as pro as you I’m afraid 😆
this is 3 and the last.

  • @agea To be fair, I had my first when I was still in high school. Then 12 years later started having more with my husband. *TW Loss mentioned** I had an early second trimester loss around 14 weeks with one and a CP that started this pregnancy cycle. So I only have 5 LC and my oldest is grown and out of the house now. So I only have 4 at home with me now. *End TW* Life is definitely chaotic but I love it. When I mentioned trying for our 3rd LO (4th counting my oldest) my husband tried to pump the breaks because of how chaotic our house was at the time but he rarely ever tells me no. So we went for it and then went for it a few more times. This last time he was the one who asked when we would be trying again. He did say he feels done but I feel like I could potentially squeeze one more out of him. 😂 We have a close relative who has 11 and when I was talking to his wife she said 5 was the hardest and it’s gotten easier from there. I’m ok with this one being our last or if we decide to have 1 more but I would be done after that.
  • Just got home from my midwife appointment - all tests so far have been good but she wasn't able to find the heartbeat. I have an ultrasound booked for monday morning but the husband is getting pretty anxious about it. Anyone have experience using a home fetal doppler? I see mixed reviews about them cause they can cause some anxiety if you can't find the heartbeat yourself (I'm not 12 weeks yet so might be tricky?). Just looking for a way to calm some of the nervousness in our house over the weekend. Thanks <3
  • @muggsd I use one. It took me several tries to find the HB but once I knew which side the baby was on I was able to find it pretty quickly. I did have high anxiety yesterday and tried to find it and wasn’t able to find it for awhile and it freaked me out pretty bad. I tried again and turns out I was looking too high. I find it helps ease my anxiety because I have had crippling fear over the health of this baby and I have let my anxiety and fear get out of hand once before. So being able to just check the HB when I feel it creeping up on me has done tons to settle my fears.

Start above your pubic bone and move it in a small circle before moving it again. Only move it small amounts each time. Just repeat with the circles. The HB is much faster than your own so you will know when you hear it.
  • @muggsd no advice but fingers crossed everything is good Monday! Ugh on the wait. Did the midwife seem concerned?
  • I had my first midwife appointment this morning. It went really well, aside from not being able to hear the heartbeat.  I'm sad I wasn't able to hear it. She gave me all my requisitions today (ultrasound, bloodwork, etc) and I got a call this afternoon to book my US. It's not until March 11, which feels so far away.

  • I had my first phone appointment with my OB yesterday, who seeks lovely. Will get to meet her in person on March 23. Also had my NT ultrasound and screening bloodwork this morning. The little one was extremely uncooperative and didn't want to get in the right position for measurements. The tech managed to get one at least, so hopefully that'll work. It was the first time I got to see it moving around, which was wild. And I learned I have a posterior placenta, so I understand that means it might be easier to feel movement? I'm very excited to be able to feel it.
  • @cassafrass123 omg that happened to me at my 12 week with DD. I was dying!!!! I actually asked to half empty because I just couldn’t do it.
  • @runningonindie I lept out of the chair when they called my name. I was feeling the struggle!!
