September 2021 Moms

*ULTRASOUND THREAD*

This is a place for contributing members of the September 2021 BMB to share u/s pictures for the next 9 months!

Please make sure any identifiable information is cropped out of your picture.

Lastly, please do not ask us what we think the sex of your baby is from your ultrasound picture. The only way to know the sex of your baby is to give birth.

  • @calimama88 WOW! That’s amazing! Did they do that at the regular OB?
  • @whatabout2ndbreakfast - yes! This is just in my Ob’s office, but they are AMAZING. I’ve found out gender both times previously, before we even announced we were pregnant at 12 weeks!

This is actually just a photo of the tv screen. I was filming and photographing bc no one else was allowed at the appointment. My little b/w pictures aren’t so clear.

  • @calimama88 Oh man that's insanely cool! I've never seen anything like this.

Love seeing all the ultra sounds!!! It’s amazing how far technology has come!
  • @law_and_little1 Thanks! I was so surprised to see this too!

  • @calimama88 is that actually an image of your baby?! What?!?!!
  • @emeraldcity1214 fingers crossed the sch causes no problems! That’s exciting that the placenta is posterior - mine was anterior for my first pregnancy and I’m hopeful this one will be posterior!

  • @williams-jen I have still felt plenty of movement with an anterior placenta but the movements are definitely stronger and you can see more rolling and jabs. After so many anterior placentas I have kinda given up on ever having a posterior one again. So I’m really excited.
  • @agea - haha! Yes! Crazy, huh?

  • @sleepydaze I'm so sorry for your experience!  That really sucks.  At 8 weeks the heart rate is usually still in the 160s so it's going to sound very fast.  And at 8 weeks they don't really look like a baby yet.  Hopefully for your next ultrasound you get scheduled at the better clinic.

  • @sleepydaze - I’m sorry you had such a shitty experience. It’s the worst when you are treated that way. Make sure you find yourself a practice you feel comfortable with and advocate for yourself. That definitely looks like my US from 8 weeks. Little baby blob in the uterus!

  • @sleepydaze I'm so sorry! I've had a couple bad US tech experiences as well...sometimes their bedside manner is just non existent. If you can, try to book a different location for your next one. As for the picture, looks perfect for dating ultrasound! Little peanut <3
  • @sleepydaze I had issues with the tech at my first u/s as well. From experience with bad news at an u/s I know they aren't supposed to divulge too much because they don't want to cause undo stress but it sounds like everything was normal so she should have been able to provide some reassurance. I would definitely call the nurses line and ask them to go over the results with you. Usually the NP or Dr will do a follow up to share the results and if there was concern they would likely do that immediately so I wouldn't worry yourself too much but I would definitely reach out to get your follow up. And I agree with @gutsysneakers if you're not comfortable with your experience I would look into other options as well.

  • @sleepydaze I sorry you had such a bad experience with the u/s tech. Hopefully you can get into that other, nicer building for the next one and have a different tech!

  • @sleepydaze I feel your pain! My dating ultrasound wound up being at urgent care. Didn’t see the screen... barely said anything at all.... I’m shocked they even printed me a picture to be honest! I’m sure your next one will be much better. I plan to advocate more next time to make sure I don’t miss my opportunity to be involved.
  • A big thank you everyone for the love and support! My midwifery office has to confirm with the actual midwives that I can get a new dating ultrasound but the secretary sounded understanding about my concerns so I'm feeling optimistic. I really appreciate the positive feedback from you all, as I walked away yesterday feeling unsure about how the baby is doing.

@runningonindie I am so sorry to hear that you had a similar experience! I hope you have a great and reassuring experience next time ❤
