I’m not up to too much. I just set up DD’s kindle fire. I also bought her a hatch+ but I’ll get that set up later. She has a Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother in her crib, she loves it but she ends up playing it on and off all night. We are going to take that out of the crib (and maybe save it for #2, it’s pretty beat up though) and put the hatch+ in her room.
Happy Valentine's Day! We usually don't do much, normally just cards, but apparently my husband took it on himself to buy me a present this year (lavender spa kit...I'm kind of impressed). He was upset because the other half of his plan involved getting a bouquet of lavender and a bottle of nonalcoholic rosé, but both are near impossible to find. Still super sweet, though, and he was able to find purplish flowers which are close enough.
Happy Valentine's day!! I'm going to try hard to be more active here! My GD has been like taking over my life I feel. But I think I have it managed for the time being.
I got a leaf blower for Valentine's Day! OMG IT'S AMAZING!!! LOL
I've been cleaning our patio and pathways all morning. Seriously the most romantic thing my husband has gotten me. ACTUALLY something I've wanted for a long while.
ALSO! I finally picked and hired a doula. She's perfect for me. Very realistic and we share the same cultural background so that's amazing. Such a relief to be moving forward.
@mc0303 that's an amazing gift! I love the leaf blower and having a nice looking yard.
MH gave me a waffle maker that I have been hinting for months that I wanted. I was so excited.
Has anyone started planning freezer meals for the first few weeks after birth? I started to freeze some meals to try before birthing. Anyone want to have a thread dedicated to freezer meals for planning?
Ooh I would love a freezer meals planning thread! I’m hoping if all things stay the course I could actually make some prior to delivery! Plus I love new recipes!
@tilournextadventure I would love a freezer meal thread! They didn’t happen with DD but they are on my to do list!
@mc0303 Lol I hate leaf blowers and H has been hinting at getting one for like a year now! I just feel like all they do is blow the mess to a different place and they are so noisy. Which one did you get? Do you love it?
@tilournextadventure I'm busy writing on emptying the freezer so I can later fill it back up, but a thread sounds great!
Tried almost all of the spa kit (salts, soap, loofah, clay mask, body oil, lip balm... forgot the shower steamer and matches for the candle) and smell very lavender-y. Haven't taken a bath in a loooong time, should do it more
@ramzlau 😆 It’s not much louder than my vacuum. I got a ‘hardsurface sweeper’ for my patio and garage. It does take some finesse to direct the debris. I hate when my LO plays out in the patio and there are just weird seeds and stuff everywhere for him to choke on. It’s a black & Becker chargeable one. It’s so light!
Happy Valentine's Day! I did a ton for my kids today so I'm wiped tonight lol. They definitely had fun today though! DH and I don't really celebrate beyond cards for each other. In his old job this was busy season for him so I was lucky if I saw him before 11 pm lol.
Tonight we are having these though https://levainbakery.com/. we went into Chinatown on Friday to get food for the new year- we usually celebrate with DH's family but are not this year. There's a Levain's close by so we bought a big box and then dropped some off for friends/family in the area. They're sooo good!
@akoros I've never heard the term daywalker before and just had to look that up!! I've got a lot of redheads in my family and now am going to use that lol.
@MelissaMay82 I haven't seen when she's due, but she's got a decent bump in the picture they released. If she miscarried in July, she's due May at the earliest? Good for them that they were able to keep it to themselves for so long. Pgal me always felt bad for Kate that she had to announce so early.
My son’s middle name is also Harrison but alas I’m no MM. If only.
I’m not doing any big freezer meals but I do need to meal plan and make meals for my son as I don’t trust anyone to cook for him with his allergies. If I go into labour early, then I want him to be covered. If I make it to c/s date, I’ll make all his food for the 3 days I’m in hospital.
Ah, for some reason seeing that announcement yesterday about MM made me so happy! I just can't seem to help myself rooting for those two!
Well our valentine's day ended with a total household disaster! MH decided to light a romantic fire for us but had the flue closed. I asked him to double check it, he said it was open. The whole house starting filling with smoke and he kept insisting it was open (just wouldn't turn it the other way of course, men!). So within the space of about 5 minutes our entire tiny little bunglow style house was completely filled with smoke, like to the point you could barely see across the living room! So while he's throwing water into the fireplace to put it out I'm running around trying to open all the windows and doors while not inhaling too much smoke. And it was also -2 out at the time so not exactly ideal weather to have to open everything and air out the house! Ugh, our whole house smells like it just got back from a camping trip now. So I guess we'll be spending our extra day off cleaning the house today, oh well! Not much you can do but laugh about these kinds of things.
Sooo happy. DH and I were out yesterday at babies R us and we decided to make one of the biggest purchases. We found a stroller/car seat combo that we all liked and we also had a 15% coupon to use before today and so we thought why not buy it. Happy Valentines day to us LOL So we got it 😊 yay!! ❤ So excited for it to come by delivery. They were out of stock in store so we couldn't just grab one. I hope I made the right choice picking the right one. So many to choose from. Hard to commit lol
I am also not Meghan Markle but if you are here girl...good for you.
@mindyb2019 I'm so happy for you that you made that purchase. I know it's been scary for you to let this be real. xo
Valentine's Day is pretty much a big let down in my house. H's birthday is the day before and he always wants to celebrate so V-day just doesn't happen. I did buy some cute gifts for DS and I told H I was going to book myself a facial so there's that. He said he meant to buy some flowers and I told him I'd prefer chocolate and he can get some another time.
I bought baby girl the softest most adorable rainbow sleeper over the weekend. I'm so excited for pink and yellow after 2.5 years of blues and trucks.

@laurad75 thanks. Im happy I made the purchase too. It feels nice to let it be real 😊 aww im happy you bought a cute rainbow sleeper ❤ Glad your exited for pink and yellow. I dont blame you over truck's haha.
@ellieemc26 whoops! I have done that one time and DH wasn’t home. He did come home though and had a friend with him and I felt like an idiot. Pretty sure I caught it coiner that your H though and didn’t have a house full of smoke.
@mindyb2019 yay!! I’m so glad you are buying some things!
Oof! What an eventful day! I was planning on just relaxing and resting today and my dumbass fell hard in the shower trying to scrub my feet. My OB recommended going in to L&D to be on the safe side.
Luckily, little Levi is ok, placenta is in tact, amniotic fluid is great. Just some painful bruising on my hip.
Phewwwww Thank goodness I literally hired my doula yesterday so I had someone to ask questions to
I think we all wish we were MM or at least shared some of her lifestyle/clothes 😆 happy for them! @mindyb2019 yay to buying things and saving money at the same time! We bought our stroller a couple months ago but I keep looking at them online, it’s addicting.
@mc0303 glad you and the baby are okay! It’s super hard to reach down now, I told DH we need a bath mat that can scrub for me
We got about a foot of snow over the weekend (which never happens here) and it was so much fun! DS (2yo) had a blast sledding and building a snowman. I love snow anyway, but that just made it extra special!
@mc0303 glad it wasn’t more severe! Thankful that you and baby are both good!! I actually want one of those foot scrubbers you suction to the bottom of the bathtub lol I can’t comfortably reach my feet to clean them the way I want anyway lol
@mindyb2019 yay for big purchases!! I bought a ring sling and a baby swing this weekend! So exciting to get bigger purchases done!!
@halfanewt we got some sleet/snow combo nonsense so nothing to go play in lol.
We set record breaking low temps here and lots of water issues now (a pump broke at the water plant and multiple line breaks) so now we are in a water boil 🙄. Water issues when you have to use the toilet every half hour is super awesome too lol. We luckily never lost power but many around us were not so lucky and had babies and kids sleeping in 40-50 degree houses completely bundled up 😢. We (as a city) have literally zero clue how to handle temps and ice like this
@mc0303 - Glad you and the baby are okay! I got an instant pot for Valentine's day, so I understand your excitement over the leaf blower.
I was so happy to see Meghan's news! And her beautiful announcement picture. I had to go back and re-read her article from November about her miscarriage and it made me ball once more. So happy for her rainbow baby.

Archie was a May ‘19 baby, I always wondered if she lurked around the May ‘19 BMB (DD is May ‘19).
