Ok apparently im just having one of those days. Im off work again today cause of our long weekend we had in Canada. Anyways I was out running around and doing some errands and picking things up etc and I was snarky at the guy asking the covid questions at the door at the hospital and then I was at a store on my way home and was frustrated and overwhelmed and emotional and with all my hormones I just had a meltdown in the store and started crying 😭 I cant handle anything today and not sure why. Its been like that all day. I even cried in my car too driving around.
@mindyb2019 I've been crying the past couple of days too. I'm so sensitive and my husband has been on me about dumb stuff. I'm emotional and sensitive when I'm not pregnant so I'm a hot mess right now. Enjoy the cry - it's a a nice emotional detox.

@sgrn18 are you in Dallas area? We live in Dallas and went hours and hours without power here. Finally came on last night and had a chance to warm up, but yesterday we could see our breath in our house and when thermostats finally came back online they registered 41 degrees! It was pretty crazy. Thankfully I’m from up north originally and have cold weather clothing and a basic knowledge of cold weather “survival”, but many Texans I know do not. An eventful and chilly few days, but it feels like the worst is behind us!
@kfc1983 oh no! So glad you have power now! Hopefully you guys are past the worst now!
@laurad75@mindyb2019 I don't usually get too emotional during pregnancy sensitivity-wise, but I get very rage-y. Haha things that I can let slide at other points definitely set me off. Yesterday something happened at work and I was SO yelly and upset about it.
Lol @_orchid_ I'm also more rage-y than sensitive. Hubs is always telling me I'm getting all fired up and it's not good for the baby I think he's exaggerating of course and I'm being quite reasonable most of the time!
I’ve been MIA, sorry ladies! We had DS2’s birthday this weekend and are currently snowed/iced in...so a lot going on. I am not Megan. I am also VERY sensitive and am crying very easily. I already feel my feelings very strongly but lately it’s felt like the volume has been turned up and I didn’t need that in my life.
On a random note, I was comparing a current bump picture to my previous pregnancys’ bump pictures and I am bigger at 22 weeks now than I was at 22w with DS2. This is my third pregnancy. Anyone that’s had more than 2 pregnancies notice they for bigger quicker with the third?
@kfc1983 we live further south in the San Antonio area. Some homes are 4+ Days now without power and we lost power this morning. So we are camping at my sisters who has power for the time being lol. The house only got to 55 degrees which isn’t terrible but that was with some sun outside. They said they were doing “rolling blackouts” but some haven’t lost power, some just lost power today, and others lost power 4 days ago and never got it back. Rolling doesn’t seem like the right term for what’s happening lol. We’re making due and DS has a hot meal in his belly so I’m not complaining just yet lol
Ok.. I need to vent for a minute cause I cant talk to anyone else and it just causes serious problems when I do. Anyways, My boss was soo sweet today and surprised me with a bag full of maternity clothes cause I have been struggling with some things mentally and emotionally etc. And she knows my other pants have been getting tight and she wants me to embrace my changing growing body and love my bump and feel beautiful etc.. anyways I tried on the pants and I HATE maternity clothes!!! Like hate hate hate!! Is this normal to not like them? I've tried on 3 pairs now in my entire life and have hated them all. I find them horribly uncomfortable and I dont like the high waist band on them and they hurt me etc. I dont know what to do as I desperately need pants that fit but I dont want to wear any maternity clothes. Anyone else out there hate maternity clothes too or am I the only one ?? I love the maternity tops and will wear those but hate all pants. I'd rather wear my wayyy too tight uncomfortable normal pants then those things lol I dont want to give the pants back to my boss and say they fit great(and there cute) but I just hate them but thanks for being so kind and go get ur money back?? Lol I think I legit have issues 😔
@mindyb2019 I am very picky on maternity pants and I only liked ones that fit well. And only later on in my pregnancy can I handle the band on my bump. For now it has to be under it. I bought so many pants before I found any I could tolerate. But really I much prefer dresses to pants while pregnant. Unfortunately the weather isn’t suitable for dresses yet. Totally normal though to hate the pants. So many are ugly and uncomfortable. Seraphine is the only place I could find any jeans I liked and that felt like normal jeans to me.
@mindyb2019 It's very sweet that she went out and bought you a bunch of clothes but like @AKuzReve said, just like shopping for regular clothes, you are not going to like everything. I am also super picky about mat pants and find the bands a little uncomfortable but I have a pair of jeans that I like - I think I literally have one pair that I like. It's not you. It's the pants. Where is it all from? Can you exchange? So annoying that right now most all maternity clothes are online and you can't try anything on before you buy them.

@mindyb2019 I hate maternity pants too. I have one pair of maternity jeans that I wear out and that’s it. Otherwise I wear stretchy normal pants or sweatpants. Maybe you can exchange? Your boss is sweet for doing that, I’d probably say they didn’t feel quite right if she ever asked why I never wear them 😜 I can’t wait for the summer so we can wear cute dresses!
@mindyb2019 I just ordered my first pair of maternity pants (jeans from Old Navy) and not really a fan. They look ok (aside from being too long... story of my life) but aren't that comfortable. They're supposed to go under my belly, but really they go a bit higher and put too much pressure there. Probably again because I'm too short. Spring is coming, so I think I might just stick with what I have (mostly leggings) until I can wear dresses. I liked the idea of some comfortable jeans, but I can tough it out with my belly band the few times I really need to wear them or other "real" pants
That was really nice of her. If she notices or asks, is just make a vague comment about how the fit wasn't right (but "thank you so much, it was so nice of you to let me try them").
@mindyb2019 maternity jeans are hard. I have 2 pairs I like from Motherhood, and 5/6 pairs I can't wear at all bc they're uncomfortable. I only like them once my belly gets big enough though, otherwise I feel like I'm constantly pulling them up/they cut in weird. Right now I'm wearing a lot of just stretchy pants. That's very sweet of your boss!!
@Omie_Wise hi!! Happy belated birthday to ds2! We are getting a ton of snow/ice here today 😭 ready for spring! I didn't take a lot of pictures with ds2's pregnancy, but remember feeling much bigger than DS1's at this point. Right now with DS3 I think I'm more on track with DS1's pregnancy size-wise BUT it's been about 4 years since I was pregnant with ds2 (I think your kids are closer together?) And I started this pregnancy 20 lbs heavier than with ds2 so I'm sure that plays into it too.
DS was born at the end of August so I only had to wear pants for a couple of months and then I lived in dresses and skirts/ tank tops. I need to buy a few long sleeve tops and I'll be shocked if I still fit in my coat by the end of winter.

@akoros @ wendy838 @laurad75@AKuzReve Thanks ladies! Im soo glad to hear that im not the only person out there that hates maternity pants LOL yay. For those who has asked, yes I can return them. They were bought from Walmart and she left all the tags attached and gave me the receipt in the bag so since I won't keep them I will just bring them back into work, give them back to her and she can get the money back on her debit card. I really do appreciate her kindness and thought. It was really nice of her to do that. I feel bad I'm not keeping them but I dont want to lie to her. I hope she understands. I guess maternity pants just arnt for me and that's ok! I'll have to find another alternative for clothes I can wear and feel comfortable.
@mindyb2019 Fwiw, if I give someone a gift that they don't like or can't use, I prefer for them to tell me or be able to return it. Particularly when it comes to clothes, those are so hard to buy for someone else.
If you have longer tops, when I do need to wear real pants I've been happy with just using a belly band. Keeps the pants up, covers the open zipper, and I find them comfortable. In summer it's trickier because it's so stupid hot and humid here that I can't fathom the idea of an extra piece of cloth (not that they're hot, it's just that anything is too hot), but this time of year I tend to wear an undershirt anyway. Worst case, Amazon has free returns on them
I'm getting pfizer shot #2 on Friday so trying to get all my usual weekend stuff done early. Planning on lots of online baby shopping Saturday- I have some old navy cash for this weekend and baby gap outlet has a sale. Any other sales to look at??
Hi @_orchid_ I'm here! It does feel quiet in here today, but that's possible because I am wildly bored at work. Good luck with shot #2! Let us know how it goes.
I started working out again this week so I'm super sore. Sitting down on a toilet feels like a massive chore!

I'm here too! And also bored, it's a slow work day and there's no pretty snow for me to watch (just stupid, icky sleet). After lunch I think I'm going to switch over to my shopping spreadsheet, so I may be bugging you all with more product questions. The carseat convo was really helpful, I sounded like a whiz when talking to my friend about them last night.
Definitely on the bored train. Work is slow and I am just waiting to meet my regional director this evening for drinks.
I will be dropping the baby bomb this evening. Should go well to show up to the bar almost 6 months pregnant. Oh and I only started this job 6 months ago so I haven't actually met anyone on my team. 😬
@mindyb2019 You are doing the right thing but as you grow and your pants get uncomfortable you should give other brands a shot. Not all hope is lost.

I am so emotionally drained. I had an awful appointment yesterday (not for baby, and everything is fine, just a very crass provider that I’m trying to figure out what to do as far as reporting goes) and then I had a job interview today. All the anxiety. Has anyone interviewed for a job while pregnant? I feel kind of skeevy about it since I’ll be taking 10-12 weeks off in a few months and it’s a higher level position at my university... but my current position just isn’t working for my mental health.
Married August 2010 DD1 August 2011 DD2 August 2013 DD3 February 2017
I've been COMPLETELY MIA and feel so bad that I haven't been spending as much time on this board with y'all as I'd have liked. Practicum hours are starting to wrap up and we're in the last stretch of the semester (term papers, course evaluations, wrapping up with my clients, it's been insane). On top of my school stuff I've still been trauma processing with my therapist and that's been heavy. I also crashed my car into a curb on Thursday due to bad weather. Everyone who was in the vehicle (including baby) is fine, but my poor car needs some work. That also lead to a completely different trauma process because I do NOT do well with car accidents (there's a whole PTSD history related to that) so I completely shut down. It's been... a lot. I'm drained. Just talked to my therapist again this afternoon and I'm -completely- overwhelmed with the stuff I need to get figured out.
@disgruntled_pelican I feel like I am paralyzed in the job hunt for that exact reason. I am applying but not with the same fervor that I normally would because I hate thinking of starting a job that will just be 10-12 weeks and then be rushing back to after the birth. Let me know how it goes!
@ashaislurking It’s so good that you are talking to your therapist. I hope things start to fall into place so you can reduce your stress. So sorry about your car and the added stress! Glad everyone is okay!
@disgruntled_pelican hope your interview went well. I understand it can be stressful interviewing while pregnant, but you have to do what’s best for you and your family long term. And your mental health is very important going into newborn baby phase.
@ashaislurking sorry you’ve had such a rough time lately. Please let us help support or distract you as needed.
I too have been very absent latelyX it’s not intentional, but things have been chaotic. My two year old has been very two this week. Plus, my hormones and work stress have me extra ragey. My husband says he doesn’t want to be around me because I’m always in a bad mood. Well, guess what? Saying that makes me even more grumpy with you! I was like this in my first pregnancy too, but I just don’t know how to keep the hormones in check...they are the ones running the show here, not me!
I haven’t been as present either. We have so many stressful things going on. Primarily we don’t know where we’re going to be living and in what country because things are such a hot mess right now.
@disgruntled_pelican Fwiw, I interviewed for a new job during my first pregnancy. Admittedly I was earlier along (first trimester) and it was for a higher position within my broader unit so I knew everyone. I stressed about it like crazy and felt super guilty about not telling anyone during the process. That said, the advice I got at the time was to go for it and try for the new job on the merits. When I got the tentative offer I talked to my new boss and told him about the pregnancy. I'd also thought through some ideas for coverage during maternity leave. He was very supportive and had no problem with it.
Ultimately, if the job is meant to last more than 6 months, if you're the best candidate you're the best pick. Yes, the timing isn't ideal, but it can be worked around.
@klj0228 I get "grumpy" during pregnancy too, and having a 2 year old doesn't make it easier! I'm usually very laid back and go with the flow, but during pregnancy I'm much less so (bc hello? Growing a human and trying to survive here) so I think people interpret it as grumpiness. I try to think of it as a good thing bc I stand up for myself more, and that helps me not be grumpy about being grumpy.
@mindyb2019 I hate maternity pants too. I have one pair of maternity skinny jeans that have the side panel stretch which are ok and not too uncomfortable. I cannot stand anything over my belly. I mostly just wore leggings and yoga pants (and that one pair of jeans) when pregnant with DD.
@Omie_Wise I am way bigger now than with DD. I swear my bump doubled in size this week.
@klj0228 I’m apparently “grumpy” and “in a bad mood” too
I’ve also been MIA this week, I was busy with work and the toddler.
Just to clarify, no one needs to apologize for the amount of time you participate on this board. You don't have an obligation to 'check in'.

Thanks all for the support regarding my interview. I woke up this morning to another interview request for a different position. I’d written it off weeks ago as it’s a pretty “high up” position. I was shocked to have been asked to interview! So, now I have another one on Monday. This one, I imagine will be much more intense so please send juju or whatever you got this way!
