Re: February Appointments Thread

  • @_orchid_ that is a lot to take in solo. I hope you get some time to digest. I wish I could offer more advice and support.

  • I have my 20 week appointment tomorrow with a new doctor bc my doctor had to take some time off for medical leave. This doctor I am seeing tomorrow did deliver my last baby and I feel comfortable seeing her. However, I’m feeling so sad I can’t see my normal doctor. She found out she has cancer and I’m praying she can get better. The clinic is just scheduling me with whatever doctor is available for the time being for upcoming appointments but I might try to see this doctor I’m seeing tomorrow until I can see my normal doctor again.
  • @dogmom5 that’s so sad, I hope your doctor has a speedy recovery.

  • @MelissaMay82 thank you. I feel so heartbroken hearing the news. I of course want her to be here for my pregnancy but mostly I want her to be healthy. My doctor has been amazing to me for my other pregnancies and she is such a good person. No one deserves to go thru that and I pray she has a speedy recovery
  • @dogmom5 oh no!! Thats so sad. I hate cancer. I hope she will be ok.
  • I have a growth ultrasound check next week and I can't wait!
Since my husband has seen the baby 3 times now I'm going to bring my mom ❤️ I love getting extra peeks at him.

  • @_orchid_ I had a 'low laying placenta' with DS1 and I don't remember ever hearing about anterior until this board where everyone seems to have it.  Interesting!

  • Sorry all - I completely had to post and run yesterday since between my anatomy scan and blood work for my thyroid, I didn't start working until 1 PM. Oops.

So happy to hear your AS' also went well, @laurad75 and @akoros. And yay for other great appointments!

@_orchid_, I feel like anterior was so uncommon in my last BMB so I'm surprised how many of us have it here! I am curious though to the anterior placenta with a c/s. I had significant blood loss with my 1st and I'd like to avoid that again. I wonder if there's a higher correlation with anterior placenta and blood loss. I'll google one night when I'm bored.

@mindyb2019, good luck on Friday! FX for a great cervix!

  • @_orchid_ - Google says that anterior are 25% chance (which makes sense considering you have 4 "sides" to a uterus). I do feel like we have a lot here, but maybe people are just more apt to talk about it or complain about not feeling movement? I've also have an anterior in 2/3 pregnancies.

I also read that 75% of anterior placentas are in girls and only 25% are in boys. I've had one boy and one girl with anterior placentas, but now I'm curious as to the stats on this board.
  • @marebear15, I read that too and I plan to make a poll once I’m done working 😅

  • @marebear15 interesting!! My other boys were posterior, but this boy is anterior. The MFM I go to for my NT always has just told me without asking, idk why
  • @sgrn18 that’s awesome news!
