I was venting to my mom the other day about struggling to keep up with work, while doing online school with my kindergartener and taking care of our puppy. Instead of offering to help or offering a solution, she turned around and scolded me for having another baby...She knows we've had two losses tis past year and this baby's life still isn't guaranteed. Not only that, but I'm 31, married, both my husband and I have successful careers...Theres no reason we shouldn't have another baby if we want one.
@mrs_massie I'm in almost the same exact situation (2 kids, virtual 1st grade while both parents working from home, 2 losses before this high risk pregnancy). I keep reminding myself this is NOT how is supposed to be. We are NOT supposed to exist in only our immediate household pod, and we WILL get back to "normal" life with in person school, childcare, etc. I would be really irritated getting scolded liked that too.
People keep talking to me about having a third. I’m like umm no.... 2 is good, I’m already AMA, and I fully plan on getting a tubal during my csection.
@MelissaMay82 on MHs side of the family all the grandkids are boys. When we told my MIL we were having a second boy she immediately said something about trying for a girl. I shut her down real quick telling her my tubal is already scheduled with my csection lol. She had the audacity to looked offended.
@MelissaMay82 and @sgrn18 We're having our second boy and haven't told any of my husband's family because that'll be their first question. We're good with two and even though I'm having a RCS, my husband is getting snipped in the fall. 🤣
@rvamom90@_orchid_ +1 for a RCS and then DH is getting a vasectomy. Although, I'll be days away from turning 46 when this baby is born (yay science!) so no one is expecting to me to have more babies.

@laurad75 MH is convinced that he doesn't need to get one now since we had secondary infertility and conceived via IVF. I am going to have to just implement a sex ban until he comes to his senses, because if we have a third it is going to be from our remaining embryo and not from a "less than 1% chance" oopsie!

@legallykate Feel free to tell him this story (in spoiler because TW).
At one point DH did say to me 'do you really want me to get a vasectomy? And I said 'do you really want me to have to continue taking more hormones after all the IVF meds I was on?' No.
After DS was born we just moved ahead assuming I couldn't get pregnant without IVF (DS and this baby were both conceived via donor egg IVF - same batch). I even remember becoming very annoyed with a nurse who asked what we would be using for birth control after he was born. I was 43 with no eggs... I didn't need birth control. Fast forward to the following May when what I thought was a regular period became very heavy bleeding and then I passed tissue - it was a miscarriage. I had stopped bf a few months before so I didn't think anything of it when I didn't get a true period. I had a hard time with it emotionally. I felt a lot of guilt for not knowing I was pregnant and how should I feel because I didn't have an opportunity to accept that there was a baby. It turns out I can get pregnant on my own...I just can't have a baby. Total mindf*ck.

@_orchid_ No, I had a traumatic unexpected c-section last time that required a blood transfusion so I refuse to be open longer than necessary. DH will definitely be going to all of the follow up appointments to ensure he's shooting blanks. 🤣
@angelz429 One of my mother's colleagues had a surprise 3rd after her husband had a vasectomy (or maybe it was a surprise 4th?), so it's not unheard of....
There's 100% a reason I'm getting my tubes removed after this one instead of getting a standard tubal or vasectomy and these comments just reaffirm that decision. I've already talked it through with my ObGyn and signed consent forms for it.
Hubs never went back for his post appt. check (many don’t) and there you have it. The reason it took 2.5 years is I kept an iud until august this year Bc I had no periods lol. Period came in sept. Knocked up by October 🤷🏻♀️ My current youngest took 6 months of tracking and trying to conceive so 🙄
but on to why I was going to murder my husband today
i passed out at 8 or 8:30 on the couch. I’m on progesterone shots. I get nauseated again at night. Reflux and heartburn has started. Everyone in my house had a cold this week (covid negative thankfully). We have a puppy who still gets up in the middle of the night. He has the audacity to say: “you’re like the worst pregnant person ever. Aren’t you supposed to be like glowing and ‘awww look at my cute pregnant self’ or whatever?”
instead of murdering him, I didn’t even lift my head from the pillow and gave him my cute middle finger 😂
@angelz429 We got a puppy for our oldest for Christmas and I know the feeling. Ours has just started sleeping through the night in the last couple of weeks thank goodness, but the first few weeks my husband and I were wondering what we had done lol. Our son sleeps 12-13 hours so having a puppy wake us up in the middle of the night 6 months before having another baby seemed crazy. Glad we aren’t the only ones on the crazy train 😉
I can’t imagine having a puppy and all of the other things you having going on. I fall asleep on the couch at 8 just from a toddler and the puppy and work lol. You’re doing great!
Hahaha my hubs is a total kidder and laughed when I flipped him the bird. He also redeemed himself when he said yesterday “I know you don’t feel all the great pregnant, but you are gorgeous” so we give him a pass sometimes 😂
DD says “a cute baby!” whenever she sees an old pic of herself so she said that today about one of the two of us and I said “yeah Mama was cute then too” and DH was like “aww you’ll be cute again someday.” Fail, but in his defense I think he meant more “we will be able to dress up and go places” versus anything pregnancy related.

A lady at the hospital, I do not work directly with her, asks me every day what I “fed the baby today”. It doesn’t matter what I say, it’s not enough or not good enough. It’s none of your business what I fed this baby!! I am growing and my dr is happy with how we are doing.
@klj0228. Ooh I hate people commenting on my diet. I was like 11-12 weeks still having nausea (especially at work since I couldn’t feed myself like I did at home) and honestly you eat what you can during those times. I had a co worker say that I should “feed the baby a salad because I’ve seen how you eat”. First off, eff you. Second, also eff you. This came from a woman who has never been pregnant (by choice).
@sgrn18 rude!! It is so hard to eat as healthy as you “should” while pregnant. I can only force so much food down that I don’t actually want. I worked from home in my last pregnancy so people had less opinions to give this go around everyone has an opinion about everything.
when I was pregnant with DS1 I worked in sales and worked the 11am-7pm shift. When I got in a would stop in the cafe and grab a pear and a bagel and go to my office to eat while I checked morning emails and voicemails. It was kind of a weird time because it had been a few hours since breakfast, but I wouldn't be eating a lunch until closer to 3, so I had to eat something or I'd start to feel sick and tired. Well one day my boss came over to me while I was picking out my pear and said, "If you don't do anything else around here you make sure to eat." I was sooo peeved. She also told me when I was about 20 weeks pregnant that I didn't look pregnant I just looked like I ate a sack of potatoes...
Today at my work one of my elderly residents (whose a lady) told me im getting a little bump in my butt now. Im like.. so my butt is getting bigger? She's like ya! I bit my tongue but in my head I was like wtf excuse me!?? 😳 wow thanks.
Ps.. for the record I have no ass at all and my butt has definitely NOT gotten bigger 😆 seniors are so blunt and have no filter.
DS is like the friendliest little toddler...he goes up and says Hi to EVERYONE he sees or meets. But for some reason just starts hysterically crying when he sees my ILs.
My MIL stopped by today and DS cried (surprise) and she proceed to lecture me about how I don’t take him out enough and that’s why he cries around other people. The implication being that I should get a nanny or send him to daycare as she’s hinted before.
It took all my self restraint not to be like ‘The ONLY time he cries is when he sees YOU. He LOVES other people’
I can’t stand her parenting comments. They make me crazy.
@mc0303 ugh, I am not the best at holding things in with my in-laws so I probably would have actually said what you are thinking. Also, kids are great judges of character so he is probably onto something.
