(Stole this from another BMB...I very much hope that we don’t need this board here, but I think it’s important to have a space to talk about this if anyone needs it.)
This thread is to support anyone experiencing spotting and/or bleeding.
All conversation surrounding these issues should go here. The TW in the title applies for the whole thread. Please beware of reading ahead if you think you might be triggered by conversations about spotting/bleeding.
Finally, remember that most of us are not medical professionals, and even if we were, it's always best to call/visit your doctor with questions or concerns. Feel free to ask questions and voice concerns, but please do not expect anyone here to be able to offer you anything but support. The most important thing to do is to call your doctor. They can offer answers; we can offer support.
Re: **TW: Spotting/Bleeding/Threatened Loss Support
Positive test 12/26. Had heavy spotting on 12/29 and of course had a sinking feeling. Test was still positive though. Went in same day for lab work and then repeated it 2 days later. HCG went from 551 to 1265 in less than 48 hours, so doctor was happy with that. Progesterone dropped though from 20.2 to 18.3. She wasn't concerned, as I guess it is not supposed to rise the same way HCG does as long as it lingers at a good level, but of course I'm nervous.
I had an ectopic pregnancy that ended in emergency surgery in August. I was about 5-6 weeks at the time. I am going in on Tuesday for an early ultrasound to try to confirm it is not ectopic this time. I will be JUST 5 weeks so I know they likely won't see much / anything. Trying to brace myself so I don't freak out when we can't see the baby, etc.
I sort of have a looming bad feeling which I hate because I believe that your attitude / energy can effect things in ways you might not know. But with such a recent loss, plus the unexpected spotting, that's where my head keeps going. Trying to stay positive and looking forward!
ive been spotting since 6dpo so doc is concerned about ectopic. My HCG doubled appropriately and progesterone dipped 4 points. Doc thought the numbers looked good, apparently progesterone can fluctuate throughout the day.
Im going in on Thursday at 5+1 for an ultrasound and hope to find a sac in the right spot.
Fingers crossed for you!
did you have any symptoms that would have alerted you to ectopic?
had you even realized you were pregnant with your ectopic? That’s really terrifying.
so sorry that happened to you.
So I have to go back tomorrow for my second draw, but it seems like just a waiting game now.
